Infinite wealth In A New World

Chapter 292: First Steps In The Upper World

{Congratulations, Master killed an Earth Boss Golem. Gained: 2,000,000 EXP and 200 Evolution Stones.}

{Altering system...}

{Done. System successfully altered.}

{Master can now use gold coins in the upper world.}

Sunny absorbed the system prompts instantly. 'Two million EXP just for a Second Order Earth Golem? That creature must have been extraordinarily tough, but its Earth element was fundamentally under my control. A casual glance of my power would destabilize its entire existence.'

He glanced at his surroundings, focusing on the currency adjustment. 'So, in this Upper World, the standard currency is gold coins, replacing the Galaxy Crystals of the Lower World. A significant structural difference.'

"Love, who are these people?" Josephine asked with a subtle frown. She was aware of her own strength as a rising Divine-ranked warrior, and she could sense the formidable auras of the mercenaries and the young man. To her, they were powerful. But watching Sunny, she knew they were merely powerhouses, beneath his full strength.

"Wow! Thank you for your help!" Qin Li, seizing the opportunity to secure a powerful potential ally, rushed forward, projecting confidence that slightly masked his fear.

"Who are you?" Josephine asked coolly, meeting his gaze.

"Haha... You're from the human kingdom, and you truly don't know me?" Qin Li feigned surprise, but seeing the genuine confusion in both their expressions, he blinked in shock.

"You really don't know me?"

Josephine shook her head.

"Wow... This is a first," Qin Li conceded, performing a quick, overly formal bow—a blend of respect and calculated humility:

"Well then. I am Qin Li, Young Master of the Qin family, currently the strongest family in the human kingdom. And with time, I will undoubtedly be the next King." He looked up, giving a practiced, ambitious smile. "Do I have the honor of knowing your names?"

Sunny remained silent, allowing his wife to take the lead in diplomacy.

"I am Isabella," Josephine answered smoothly, using the human aliases they had prepared, "and he is my husband, Alex."

"Oh? Husband?" Qin Li's smile faltered, a flicker of disappointment crossing his face before he caught himself.

"Yes? Is that an issue?" Josephine asked, raising an eyebrow, her tone edged with subtle warning.

"Hahaha," Qin Li laughed sheepishly.

"No, no issue at all! I was just surprised, you are so young and beautiful, perhaps barely in your twenties. Forget all that..." He cut himself off abruptly, feeling the weighty, utterly unreadable gaze of Sunny, focused on him.

'This guy killed a Second Order Boss with just a glance,' Qin Li reminded himself sternly.

'He is either a hidden Fourth Order Sovereign or someone completely outside the Great World's known hierarchy. I shouldn't get into his bad side over a petty thought.'

He adopted a calm, businesslike tone. "We want to genuinely thank you for helping us complete this raid. I never leave a debt unpaid, so you will receive 20% of the rewards."

"What rewards?" Josephine asked, growing even more confused.

"....?!"

Qin Li and his fighters exchanged baffled glances. Even the children of the lowest human villages knew about dungeon rewards. The confused question was proof: these two were not from this world.

"Ahem," Qin Li cleared his throat, carefully choosing his words. "Are you both... not from this world?" he asked cautiously.

"No. We just arrived," Josephine confirmed, glancing around the now-silent realm. "Where are we exactly?"

"We are within a Secret Realm, one of the most resource-rich areas near the human kingdom. The rewards I am talking about are the treasures granted after defeating a Boss in such a place."

BOOOOOOM!!

As if on cue, a shimmering Golden Chest materialized in the center of the room.

"Here it is!" Qin Li gestured, walking past them to open it. The brilliant light from the gold coins, high-grade weapons, and shining gemstones spilled out, reflecting on everyone's faces.

"This is our reward. You will get 20% of the gold here—"

"—I haven't agreed to those terms," Sunny finally spoke, his voice quiet, flat, and absolute.

Qin Li blinked, turning slowly to face the powerful newcomer.

"Okay. What do you want?" he asked, maintaining his calm facade, his mind racing to calculate the worth of the chest contents.

"I don't need money," Sunny stated dismissively. "I already have too much of it. I require two things: one God-Rank weapon—a sword would be preferred—and a comprehensive map of this world."

"One God-Rank weapon? And 'too much money'?" Qin Li was dumbfounded, momentarily losing his composure.

The surrounding mercenaries began to murmur.

"Who is this guy?"

"A God-Rank weapon is good, but it's incredibly hard to get. You usually have to kill a Boss just to get one drop!"

"He was the one who killed the Golem, so his request isn't wrong in principle," the axe-wielding lady pointed out.

"True, but do you think Young Master Qin will simply hand over the God-Rank weapon? That was the main prize, the reason we took this suicidal job."

"I don't know. But if we anger this man... can we survive his gaze?" a warrior whispered, staring at Sunny with dread.

Qin Li, pulling himself together, looked at Sunny with pleading urgency. "Sir Alex... that weapon is the main reason my family dispatched me here; we already lost several men just to secure the Intel. Can you please reconsider and give it to me? You can have the entire rest of the chest as exchange."

'To exchange the entire chest—which holds hundreds of thousands of gold—for just that weapon, it must be invaluable to his faction. He's not short on gold at all,' Sunny thought, taking the measure of the young man's dedication.

"Love, we just arrived here," Josephine whispered softly to Sunny. "It wouldn't be bad if we avoided making an immediate, powerful enemy. Besides, we can always find another weapon later, or make one."

Sunny considered her practical advice. "Is there another way to acquire another God-Rank weapon quickly?" he asked Qin Li.

"Yes, there are two common ways," Qin Li answered immediately, relief flooding his voice:

"Raiding highly dangerous Secret Realms, Ruins, and Dungeons, like this one, is the most common path. Or, buying one in the market. But most of those are fake, or severely damaged, and you will surely get scammed. Most people prefer to raid." He then made a bold, calculated move. "But I can sell you one of my personal weapons."

He drew the sword from his own waist—the weapon he had used for tactical guidance. It glowed with faint, high-grade runes.

"This is a genuine, Mid-Rune God-Rank Weapon. You can take it for only one hundred thousand gold coins."

"...?!!"

The mercenaries, including the axe-wielder were stunned into absolute silence. A God-Rank weapon for a mere one hundred thousand gold? It was either the deal of the century or the clearest indication that Young Master Qin was utterly terrified of the man called Alex.
