Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 421: Ye Yun's Initial Attempt

HUM!

A black coffin unexpectedly drilled out of the void, suspending in mid-air above the valley and aggressively releasing a powerful pressure.

All the Divine Dragons in the valley instantly prostrated on the ground, shivering in fear.

This unassuming black coffin was emitting a massive Divine Sovereign Realm aura.

WHOOSH!

The coffin's lid opened, and a black figure floated out from inside.

This figure was a man swathed entirely in black cloth, his face indiscernible, making him extremely mysterious. Only a pair of bizarre and gloomy eyes were visible.

After the mysterious man appeared, his gaze continuously swept downwards, as if searching for something. Innumerable Divine Dragons bowed their heads, exchanging glances, daring not even to breathe loudly. Out of instinctive fear, even the Eternal Realm Divine Dragon guarding the Messaging Formation failed to activate it at this moment.

"They're all ordinary Divine Dragons," the mysterious man furrowed his brow, murmuring softly.

Just now, he seemed to have sensed a powerful Divine Dragon's Breath. In that instant, he felt as if he was facing a Super Divine Dragon. Eager to investigate, he broke through the void and hurriedly came here.

This valley was protected by a powerful formation that blocked everything, so theoretically, he shouldn't have been able to sense any aura. But in reality, being a Dragon Raiser, even one merely from the Coffin Carrier Branch and not the Dragon Candle Branch, allowed him to vaguely perceive unusual auras. This was due to the special restrictions embedded within these Divine Dragons.

Each Divine Dragon or Dragon Egg on the Divine Land had ancient restrictions set by the Dragon Raisers. These restrictions were concealed deep within their bloodline, creating a magnetic-like connection between them and the Dragon Raisers. This sensation would have been clearer without the formation's obstruction.

"Perhaps I was mistaken? The Ten Super Divine Dragons from the Ancient Era fell long ago. How could they possibly reappear on the Divine Land?" the mysterious man murmured to himself, his voice soft but somewhat eerie.

Above the valley, from within a spatial rift, Ye Yun coldly observed the mysterious Dragon Raiser below. Next to him stood Liu Yiyi, looking somewhat anxious.

"Brother Yun, the man who came out of the coffin gives me an indescribable, creepy feeling," Liu Yiyi said softly.

"Yiyi," Ye Yun asked indifferently, "you've been on the Divine Land for so many years. Haven't you heard of the Dragon Raisers?"

"Of course, I've heard of them," Liu Yiyi said in surprise, "but the Dragon Raisers I know don't live in coffins."

Saying this, she suddenly realized something and exclaimed, "Brother Yun, you mean—this mysterious man is a Dragon Raiser?"

"Exactly. He is a Dragon Raiser, though he belongs to the Coffin Carrier Branch. The ones you know probably belong to the Dragon Candle Branch," Ye Yun nodded.

From Liu Yiyi's words, he could roughly understand that the Dragon Raisers of the Coffin Carrier Branch seemed to have never secretly revealed themselves on the Divine Land. Even Liu Yiyi, despite being on the Divine Land for so long, hadn't heard of them.

It seemed that Dragon Raisers of this type primarily controlled the Coffin Carrier Clan of Moon Star remotely, their activities targeting the Cangnan Continent. Their main aim was to cultivate vessels.

Ye Yun didn't actively release his Divine Sense to scan that Dragon Raiser, primarily out of fear of alerting the enemy. Therefore, he didn't know if this Divine Sovereign Realm Dragon Raiser before him was a puppet or not. He hoped it wasn't a puppet, as he wanted to capture a live Dragon Raiser.

The idea had barely formed when Ye Yun suddenly had an even bolder one.

Could there be a Dragon Raiser nest in the Daluo Region?

If he could follow the clues back to their source and find the Dragon Raisers' nest, wouldn't he be able to gather even more information?

Thinking of this, Ye Yun prepared to act. Previously, he feared startling the enemy, but now he intended to make a bold move. He decided to first punish this Dragon Raiser and see where it would try to escape.

"Brother Yun, has this Dragon Raiser suddenly appeared to steal Divine Dragons from the Dragon Breeding Valley?" Liu Yiyi asked nervously.

Ye Yun shook his head. "They haven't the slightest interest in the Divine Dragons you're raising."

Ye Yun smiled but didn't explain, then suddenly disappeared from Liu Yiyi's side. Liu Yiyi felt a pang of anxiety, then saw Ye Yun suddenly appear in the valley.

She didn't act recklessly. That Dragon Raiser gives off an extremely eerie vibe; Brother Yun is probably the only one who can handle him.

Ye Yun silently appeared behind the black coffin. The Dragon Raiser, his back to Ye Yun, remained oblivious. Even though they were both at the Divine Sovereign Realm, the gap between them was enormous.

"You thieving scoundrel! How dare you come to my Jianyun Sect to steal Divine Dragons! You'll see how I deal with you!" Ye Yun drew a Silver Long Sword and, with a shout, suddenly launched an attack from behind.

Someone? The Dragon Raiser was startled by the unexpected roar from behind. He turned around abruptly and saw a gleaming sword light ferociously descending before him. He was instantly filled with dread.

His meager Divine Sovereign Realm cultivation base had left him utterly unaware of the ambush.

WHOOSH!

A black coffin suddenly shot out to shield him, intercepting all the sword light.

After his sneak attack, Ye Yun, in contrast, didn't continue attacking. He just coldly stared at the Dragon Raiser opposite him and asked indifferently, "My sword does not slay nameless spirits. You, fellow hiding in the coffin, from what sect or faction do you hail?"

"You are not qualified to know my origins." The Dragon Raiser sneered, his pupils glinting sharply as he looked over the white-robed youth before him. "Since when did the Jianyun Sect have a cultivator at the Divine Sovereign Realm?"

Seeing the Dragon Raiser's arrogant tone, Ye Yun couldn't help but be amused. The first probe revealed the fellow's caution; he refused to divulge any information. This showed that the Dragon Raisers from the Coffin Carrier Branch were indeed a force that could not see the light of day on the Divine Land.

Ye Yun raised his sword, gently blew a breath across its blade, and said softly, "You talk tough... I just wonder, is your head harder, or is my sword sharper?"

AH! The Dragon Raiser suddenly slapped his forehead, a look of realization dawning on him. "I see! You're that Mysterious Sword Cultivator from outside the region! You've even joined up with the Sword Sovereign. Were you captivated by her beauty?"

"You got it right. The Sword Sovereign is too beautiful, and now I've joined the Jianyun Sect," Ye Yun laughed. He hadn't expected that the Sword Sovereign's renowned beauty would be known even to this mysterious Dragon Raiser from the Coffin Carrier Branch. He instantly felt a surge of pride.

In the air, upon hearing the conversation below, Liu Yiyi's face flushed slightly. However, she was no longer the shy girl of a hundred thousand years ago; her expression quickly returned to normal. She also wanted to see how her Brother Yun would display his might and eliminate this mysterious Dragon Raiser.

"Sir, I have no interest in the Divine Dragons raised by the Jianyun Sect, nor do I wish to fight with you. How about we call a truce?" the Dragon Raiser suddenly proposed.

"A truce?" Ye Yun was slightly stunned. He couldn't believe this fellow suddenly didn't want to fight him anymore. How could that be? If he didn't soundly beat this fellow, how could he find the Dragon Raisers' lair?
