Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 352 Ah! There's a Thorn!

Kitten was initially sprawled on the carriage. When the Big Black Cat's paw landed on her head, the force of the blow immediately knocked her unconscious. Her fluffy, white little head then flopped onto his paw.

"Oh dear, Kitten, why are you so sleepy? Just one pat and you're out cold?" the Big Black Cat said, lifting his paw and smirking with a glint of satisfaction in his eyes.

The force he'd used was just right; it wouldn't injure Kitten but would merely send her into a brief nap.

"Little Cat, all you know is bullying people."

The Big Black Horse, head lowered as he pulled the carriage, huffed coldly.

"Little Black Boy, you're a dignified demon beast of the Destiny Realm. What's the sense in constantly picking on a little demon of the Divine Bridge Realm?"

The Bloody Overlord Demonic Dragon coolly swept his gaze over.

"Kitten here is the weakest demon beast in our Dragon God Sect. Shouldn't you treat her with more care? Little Black Boy, what you did this time was truly uncalled for."

The Azure Sea Heavenly Dragon also lazily chimed in, his tone clearly disapproving.

Hearing the great demons speak up, the Big Black Cat felt somewhat rattled. He raised his fluffy paw, mustering his courage. "Seniors, as the saying goes, 'To hit is to show affection, to scold is to show love.' Kitten and I have always played rough like this in the Nine Soul Underground Palace. Sometimes, I can't hold back my strength."

"I don't believe you, Little Black Boy. You've got a black heart," the Bloody Overlord Demonic Dragon scoffed.

Just then, space rippled slightly, and the Little White Cat sprawled on the carriage suddenly vanished.

The Big Black Cat, solely focused on these seniors, completely missed it.

The Azure Sea Heavenly Dragon saw this and chuckled. "Little Black Boy, Kitten is gone. Looks like you're in for it now."

"What? Gone?"

The Big Black Cat exclaimed, whipping his head around, only to find that Kitten, who had been beside him, had indeed disappeared.

This discovery instantly made him break out in a cold sweat.

Undoubtedly, the only one capable of making Kitten vanish without a trace right under the noses of these Dragon Clan seniors was the Master.

The thought that the Master had taken Kitten away made the Big Black Cat as anxious as an ant on a hot griddle.

"Little Cat, it seems the Master also disapproves of you bullying Kitten, so he took her away," the Big Black Horse said, baring his large white teeth in a grin.

The Bloody Overlord Demonic Dragon chuckled and said ominously, "I'm not trying to scare you, Little Black Boy, but perhaps the Master will give Kitten a treasure specifically to counter you."

"Elder Bloody Overlord Demonic Dragon speaks wisely, haha…"

The Azure Sea Heavenly Dragon also burst into laughter. Watching the uneasy, sweating Big Black Cat, he seemed to recall something, finding the situation increasingly amusing. He even stretched out a paw and scratched his chin.

"Seniors, I'm timid. Please don't scare me," the Big Black Cat said with a mournful look on his face.

Kitten being taken away by the Master was not a good sign. Perhaps the Master, having seen him bully Kitten all the time, finally couldn't stand it anymore and would really give Kitten some treasure to counter him.

While the Big Black Cat was fraught with anxiety…

「Inside the carriage.」

Kitten slowly regained consciousness. Seeing a white figure before her, she was startled and leaped to her paws.

"Master, how did I get into your carriage? I'll leave right now," Kitten said quickly.

"There's no need to rush off," Ye Yun smiled faintly.

Even Ye Yun could no longer stand seeing the Big Black Cat constantly bullying the weaker Kitten. He decided to find a treasure to give Kitten for self-defense.

Hearing the Master's words, Kitten immediately lay obediently on the ground.

She stared at Ye Yun with her large, beautiful, gem-like eyes.

Kitten was apprehensive, wondering what the Master had planned for her.

"Take this Rainbow Colored-Nimbus. Use it for protection, and don't tell anyone," Ye Yun said, drawing a hand from his sleeve. With a gentle flick, a ray of multicolored light landed on Kitten.

The multicolored light disappeared the moment it entered Kitten's body.

Kitten used her Divine Sense to scan her body and immediately felt an additional layer of protection within.

It was a resplendent Rainbow Colored-Nimbus, radiating myriad rosy lights, exceptionally beautiful.

However, these lights only manifested internally; not a single trace escaped outside.

"I've helped you refine it for now. It can protect you for a while. Once you reach the Destiny Realm, you can refine it yourself," Ye Yun said with a smile.

This Rainbow Colored-Nimbus came from that repository from the Primordial Era.

In the legends of the Journey to the West, while not an exceptionally powerful artifact, it was quite famous, known to many in later ages.

"Thank you, Master!" Kitten was overcome with gratitude and kowtowed three times in succession before Ye Yun.

"Go on then." Ye Yun waved his hand dismissively, and Kitten instantly vanished from the carriage.

"The Master is so good to his demon beasts, gifting a Rainbow Colored-Nimbus treasure just like that," Mu Qing said, a hint of envy in her eyes.

Just then, the space beside the Big Black Cat rippled, and Kitten's figure appeared.

The Big Black Cat had been waiting anxiously. When he saw Kitten reappear, his face instantly lit up with joy.

"Kitten, where did you go?" he asked, moving closer, his face tense.

"I just went into the carriage," Kitten replied, blinking. She suddenly remembered the Master's instructions and didn't mention the Rainbow Colored-Nimbus.

Seeing Kitten hesitate, the Big Black Cat rubbed his paws together and asked with a grin, "Kitten, the Master didn't give you any magical treasure, did he?"

"No, no!" Kitten quickly waved her paws, denying it emphatically.

The Master had instructed her; she wouldn't reveal the Rainbow Colored-Nimbus even if it meant death.

"Big Brother, that swat of yours really hurt! You actually dared to strike so hard!" Kitten said angrily, scratching her head with her paw.

The Big Black Cat gave an awkward smile. "Relax, you're just a little monster of the Divine Bridge Realm. How could I dare to strike you with killing intent? Kitten, look, aren't you perfectly fine? Not even a scratch."

Kitten pouted and said nothing more.

She lay on the carriage, eyes closed, contentedly admiring the myriad rosy lights of the Rainbow Colored-Nimbus within her body.

The Master said this Rainbow Colored-Nimbus has a defensive function, but I don't know how to activate it. Kitten examined the Rainbow Colored-Nimbus within her. It lay dormant, and when she tried to activate it with her Mana, she failed.

Just as the Master said, she hadn't refined it yet, so she couldn't command this treasure as she pleased.

"Kitten, why are you sleeping again?" the Big Black Cat asked, stroking his chin as he looked at her, his eyes flickering thoughtfully.

There's something off about this Little White Cat, he thought. Why has her enthusiasm waned so much after coming out of the carriage?

Kitten ignored him, continuing to admire the Rainbow Colored-Nimbus as it unfolded with myriad rosy lights within her body.

"Kitten, in a few days, I'll be going into the Covert Dragon Coffin. You won't see me for a while, so let's chat," the Big Black Cat said with a grin, reaching out to pat Kitten's head.

No matter what, he had to find out the truth—had the Master really given Kitten some magical treasure?

The moment his furry paw touched Kitten's head, a sudden, intense pain shot up from it.

"ARGH! Something pricked me!" A sudden, sharp, and mournful cry erupted from the carriage, scattering the surrounding sea of clouds.
