Worldwide Class Change: An Invincible Swordsman

Chapter 352 Comrades in Death Not in Poverty_1

Yellow pupils, like the eyes of a snake.

Uncle Snake, don't think I won't recognize you just because you changed your name. I'd know you even if you turned to ashes!

Bartley greeted with a smile, "Uncle Rodney, I've brought you something good."

Bartley took out a transparent jar, inside which was a pair of eyes.

Rodney glanced at it. "The eyes of the Takano Divine Clan. Indeed a fine item. The bloodline of the Takano Divine Clan resides in their eyes."

Rodney snatched them up, carefully admiring the pair.

"Your technique still needs improvement; you damaged the nervous system. But no matter, they can still be transplanted, though a good amount of the bloodline is lost."

Rodney turned to look at Jiang Chen. "Your friend?"

"My big brother, Jiang Chen."

"Take a seat anywhere!"

Rodney didn't say much else and turned back to his high-tech research.

Jiang Chen looked around. This place is a lab; where the hell is there to sit?

"Uncle Rodney, he's a Wanderer. Do you think it's possible for him to gain the Badge's Strength while also acquiring the True Qi of a Wanderer?"

Rodney turned to gaze at Jiang Chen, scrutinizing him closely. A Wanderer?

Jiang Chen watched as Rodney sized him up. He had a bad feeling about this. Is he going to take me for research? Am I out of my damn mind?

Rodney said, "True Qi is a unique power of Wanderers; this kind of True Qi can only be acquired by Wanderers. Like the Takano Divine Clan, like the Divine Titan Tribe, like the Elf Race, it's all a matter of bloodline inheritance."

"The only pity is that Wanderers have no god, so they cannot merge with the Badge."

"You're of the Swordsman Class, I presume. Wanting to acquire the Strength of a Wanderer is very difficult."

Bartley asked, "Is there really no chance at all?"

"It's not completely impossible."

Jiang Chen quickly asked, "What chance is there?"

"Bai Yun was once both a Swordsman and a Wanderer. If you could bring Bai Yun to me, let me research him—study his cells, his body—there might be a breakthrough."

Jiang Chen was utterly speechless. Capture Bai Yun? Am I freaking nuts? He's a being comparable to a god! I don't stand a chance now, let alone if I become a Demigod. It'd be quicker to just ask him directly than to try and capture him!

Bartley shook his head. "That's impossible. Unless a god makes a move, there's no chance. You're just asking my big brother to court death!"

"Then there's nothing I can do."

"I once researched the True Qi of Wanderers and discovered that their True Qi originates from a place called the Dantian, where they store it. It's a similar principle to the Badge."

"A Wanderer's attack targets not only the physical body but also the Soul."

Jiang Chen asked, "What if Wanderers were to fully integrate into the Continent of All-Gods? Would there be a chance to gain both Strengths?"

Rodney nodded. "Yes."

So, this method could work. Just like with the Takano Divine Clan, the Divine Titan Tribe, and the Elf Race.

But the next second, Jiang Chen couldn't smile anymore.

Rodney shook his head. "This method works, but the All Gods will absolutely not agree."

"Why not?"

"The All Gods will never wish to have someone by their side who could kill them at any moment. This is also why the All Gods have not created a God's Seal for Wanderers."

"There are many gods in the Divine Domain, and they don't kill each other. But Wanderers break the rules, disrupt the order. The All Gods will not allow such an existence."

Jiang Chen suddenly understood. A Wanderer's True Qi can attack the All Gods. If they had the God's Seal, they could use True Qi to kill them. That would be a disaster for the All Gods—a destructive disaster. So, there's really no hope after all!

"I've recently been researching a Potion that fuses the cells of the Cannibal Tribe with those of the Divine Titan Tribe. It results in a peculiar Strength, possessing dual Attributes. Bartley, want to give it a try?"

Bartley rolled his eyes. "Not a chance! You're just using me as a test subject."

Bartley would rather die than do it. He knew Rodney was all about research. Who knew if there'd be side effects? Even though the Cannibal Tribe is strong, Bartley didn't want to risk it.

Rodney looked at Jiang Chen and laughed. "What about you, Brother Jiang Chen?"

Seeing Rodney's mysterious smile, Jiang Chen decisively refused. What a joke! Take me for a lab rat? Am I a fucking idiot?

"Young man, technology is boundless. You should dedicate yourself to it."

Dedicate myself? Go fuck your dedication! I wouldn't trust you as far as I could throw you.

This place isn't safe to stay in for long; it's extremely dangerous. Even breathing feels risky. I need to scram, now!

Jiang Chen was about to turn and leave when a question occurred to him. He turned back to ask, "Every Wanderer has a 'slave' character on their forehead. Can that be removed?"

Rodney nodded. "It can."

A thought struck Jiang Chen. This might be the only way to help them. If the mark really could be removed, they'd be no different from ordinary people. They could live in the Human World and lead normal lives. If I can help even a little, I should. This is the only thing I can do.

Jiang Chen asked, "How can it be removed?"

Rodney said, "Wanderers are cursed by the Curse God. There are only two ways to lift it. The first is to kill the Curse God; that will lift the curse."

"The second is to cleanse the Soul."

"What do you mean?"

Rodney nodded and explained, "Wanderers have been cursed from birth, and this curse seeps deep into their Souls. Unless one reaches a level above the Eighth stage, only then can they use True Qi to completely destroy the curse."

"To completely remove the curse, you need a kind of Water called Blessed Divine Water."

"This Divine Water is often used to cleanse those who are cursed. Since the curse on Wanderers is profound, the potency of the Blessed Divine Water needs to be enhanced through proper mixing."

"Blessed Divine Water? Where is it?"

"The Cannibal Tribe's world has it; it's the only place that does."

"Can you mix it?"

"I can."

Jiang Chen smiled. This method isn't bad.

Rodney chuckled. "However, I have no intention of helping you. Doing so would offend the Curse God. If you want benefits, you have to pay the price."

Jiang Chen was at a loss for words. This guy is as cunning as a fox.

Looking at Rodney's smile, Jiang Chen felt a shiver run down his spine. It was a creepy feeling. That bastard isn't planning on experimenting on me, is he? Is he going to make me his test subject?

Just then, Rodney held up a bottle of Potion, grinning. "Why don't you try this Potion first?"

Jiang Chen stared at the murky Potion. His heart skipped a beat. It was bubbling with tiny flecks. Can anyone even drink this stuff? I'd rather drink arsenic than this crap!

"Any side effects?"

"Don't worry, not at all."

Bullshit! This is clearly something you've just mixed up, and you're telling me there are no side effects? If I fucking believe you, then I'm an idiot!

Jiang Chen asked, "Are you trying to test the effects of this Potion?"

"Yes."

Jiang Chen looked at Bartley with sympathy and said, "Sorry, bro."

Bartley was completely bewildered.

Better him than me.

Jiang Chen took the Potion, grabbed Bartley by the throat, and then forcibly poured it down.

Bartley was stunned, his eyes wide.

Rodney paid no mind to these antics, focusing instead on observing Bartley's changes.
