The Last King Of Darkness

Chapter 564: Everything of Everything_3

The figure's words were like thunder, cracking open Rod's skull, a surge of clarity poured in from the top of his head, like an epiphany. At that moment, Rod finally understood why the power he gained was disproportionately small despite consuming so many souls and resources!

The missing link was this most crucial step!

Obtaining a Star Soul from a star!

Suddenly, Rod remembered that the Book of Knowledge had vaguely mentioned that after quantification, there was another first level in the stars.

But at that time, its words were very vague, and Rod didn't pay attention.

Thinking back now, the Book of Knowledge must have sensed something was amiss, but the loss of memory left it clueless as to what was wrong.

"How can I obtain the Star Soul?" Rod asked urgently.

The figure shook its head: "You should first find the Dream Fragment, part of the Dream Realm's functionality is missing."

Rod suddenly realized, no wonder there were no hints about it in the Dream Realm.

But where is this fragment?

The figure seemed to know what he was thinking and recalled: "During the Battle of the Shattered Dreams, I was besieged by the kings. Looking back now, it might be in the Ice Prison—an area in the higher Spirit Realm. You have the Heavenly Sphere Clock, you should look for it there."

Rod carefully recorded every word he said and seized the moment to ask.

"The Battle of the Shattered Dreams?"

The figure's expression turned somber, but its speech quickened.

"Yes, it was the end of the Fire Epoch, the arrival of the Dark Upheaval and the great catastrophe, ending our last hope."

"It's a long story, but my time is running out, and I'm afraid I can't finish it."

The figure gradually faded away, along with the surrounding darkness.

Suddenly, Rod remembered something again, hurriedly asking: "What about the Dark Devourer?"

The figure replied: "It is special, a complete star, its Star Soul had long returned, handed down through generations by the Master of Dreams… what I separated was its Star Soul, and it took away most of its Star Energy."

Rod exhaled a long breath, having made up his mind. Killing the King of the Deep Sea had become his most important task now, the second being going to the Ice Prison to find the Dream Fragment.

"Thank you," he said earnestly.

In these last moments, the figure raised its head, and Rod saw his eyes filled with sorrow.

"I am just a memory, a shadow of the past, a byproduct of twisted evil thoughts. Although it no longer has meaning, I still want to hear from your mouth, did the Starry Kingdom… meet its destruction?"

Rod nodded gently.

"Destroyed, according to the timeline, about a century after your death."

The air around the figure visibly withered, full of desolation, and asked softly.

"And the Starry Queen? Reena… how is she?"

Rod briefly told him all the outcomes.

The figure's eyes suddenly burst with a bright light, murmuring: "Ah, as expected of you, Reena, Reena… I'm sorry, it's me…"

Before he could finish, he was choked with sobs.

The shadow accelerated its dispersal, and soon, he disappeared without a trace, leaving only the last two sentences.

"Beware of the Ancient Evil Thought… there was more than one who framed me."

"In the Eternal Statue Square, I left traces of Reena, you can summon her… but only once."

As the words faded, this former Master of Dreams vanished forever into the long river of history, never to exist again.
