Extra Survival Guide to Overpowering Hero and Villain

Chapter 206: Spiral XIX

They walked on, letting the morning settle into a quiet, steady rhythm. The sunlight grew a little warmer, but it still felt gentle on their skin. Nothing around them demanded attention—everything simply existed, calm and unhurried.

After a while, the road passed by a small patch of wildflowers growing close to the edge. They weren't bright or fancy—just soft yellow and white blossoms swaying lightly in the breeze.

Fate slowed down a little to look at them. "They look soft."

"They are," the Dreamer said. "They grew without anyone telling them to."

Fate nodded and kept walking.

A little further ahead, they reached a slight rise in the road. From the top, they could see more fields, more open land, and a thin line of trees far in the distance. Everything looked simple and wide, stretching out under the clear sky.

Fate took it in quietly. "There's so much space."

"Yes," the Dreamer said. "And none of it asks anything from you."

That seemed to comfort Fate. Their steps stayed relaxed, light, almost easy.

As they continued, they passed a small puddle left over from an earlier rain. The surface was smooth, reflecting the sky and a bit of the road.

Fate stepped around it carefully. "I don't want to disturb it."

"You didn't," the Dreamer said. "You moved gently."

They kept going until they reached another bend in the road. This one was soft and gradual, leading them toward a wider stretch of land. A few butterflies fluttered nearby, drifting from one patch of grass to another.

Fate watched one float past. "Even they don't hurry."

"Nothing here needs to," the Dreamer replied.

The morning continued quietly. The breeze stayed steady. Their footsteps kept the same calm pace.

Eventually, they reached a spot where the road leveled out again. The sky above was bright now, fully awake, but still soft enough to feel kind.

Fate breathed in slowly, then let the breath go. "I think I like mornings like this."

"They suit you," the Dreamer said.

Fate didn't argue. They just smiled a little and kept walking.

And together, they continued forward—simply, gently, with no rush—letting the calm morning guide their steps into whatever came next.

They followed the road as it opened into an even wider stretch of land. The grass here was shorter, moving in slow waves whenever the breeze passed through. Everything felt quiet, but not empty—just peaceful in a way that didn't need anything extra.

Fate looked around. "It feels open… but safe."

"It is," the Dreamer said. "Sometimes open places can be kind too."

They walked a little more, and soon they came across an old wooden fence running along one side of the road. It wasn't straight. Some posts leaned slightly, others had small cracks, but it still stood there, doing its job without asking for anything.

Fate touched one of the posts lightly. "It's been here a long time."

"Yes," the Dreamer said. "And it stayed. Even when no one was watching."

That seemed to make Fate think for a moment. Then they nodded and kept going.

A few birds rested on the fence, and when the two passed by, the birds didn't fly away. They just shifted a little, watching quietly. Fate smiled at them. "They're not scared."

"They can feel the calm too," the Dreamer replied.

Further down the road, they reached a large tree standing by itself. Its leaves rustled softly, casting a loose, dancing shadow across the ground. Fate stepped into the shade and let the coolness settle over them.

"This feels nice," they said.

The Dreamer joined them under the branches. "You're allowed to rest whenever you need to."

Fate nodded again, not arguing with the truth of it.

After a short pause, they stepped out from under the tree and continued walking. The road ahead looked just as calm and gentle as the part behind them. There was no rush in their steps, no tension in the air.

Fate let out a small breath. "Maybe things don't always have to be heavy."

"They don't," the Dreamer said. "Sometimes life lets you move softly."

Fate looked ahead, the faint smile returning. "I think I want more days like this."

"You'll have them," the Dreamer answered. "One quiet moment at a time."

And so they kept walking—steady, relaxed, letting the peaceful morning lead them forward into a day that asked for nothing except that they simply be.

The road stayed smooth as they moved forward. The sun climbed higher, but it was still gentle, warming their skin without harshness. A few clouds drifted slowly in the sky, casting soft shadows across the grass.

Fate glanced around, taking it all in. "Everything feels… easy," they said.

"Yes," the Dreamer replied. "Easy and calm, just the way it should be sometimes."

They came to a small hill next, not steep—just a gentle rise that gave them a view of the land ahead. Fields stretched out, dotted with low shrubs and wildflowers. In the distance, they could see a faint trail of smoke, probably from a farmhouse.

Fate slowed for a moment, looking toward the smoke. "People live there," they said quietly.

"Some do," the Dreamer answered. "But we don't have to stop if we don't want to."

Fate shook their head, smiling faintly. "Not yet. I just want to keep walking."

They went down the hill, their steps easy and unhurried. The wind moved softly through the grass, carrying a faint scent of flowers and earth. A butterfly crossed their path and hovered nearby for a moment before drifting away.

Fate watched it. "Even they don't rush."

"No," the Dreamer said. "Nothing here does."

The road straightened out again, stretching forward in gentle lines. Fate walked with their hands relaxed at their sides, feeling the calm around them. There was no need to hurry. No need to worry. They simply walked, letting each step be enough.

And the day continued quietly around them, carrying them forward, simple and steady, into whatever the road had waiting next.
