Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 651: Going Alone to the Appointment

After what happened last night, combined with Chu Ge's words at this moment, the little resentment and frustration Tong Yaqi had felt because Chu Ge wasn't contacting her completely dissipated.

"Alright, can't I admit I was wrong?" Tong Yaqi smiled sweetly at Chu Ge, "No matter how tired and dizzy I am next time, even if I don't have the strength to lift a finger, I'll be sure to pay attention, okay?"

"That's more like it." Chu Ge chuckled with satisfaction. Tong Yaqi's words were always so considerate. Even her complaints made people genuinely happy.

Chu Ge said with a smile, then took the memory card he had extracted from Chen Yujie's camera yesterday out of his bag and placed it beside Tong Yaqi's pillow.

"What is this?" Tong Yaqi paused for a second, "A memory card?"

"Please keep it safe for me for now. Give it back when I ask for it."

Tong Yaqi teased with a smile, "Can I see what's in it? Is it some kind of romantic video of yours that you're reluctant to delete but don't want your wife to see, so you left it with me?"

"Your imagination is wild, but it's not like that at all." Chu Ge shrugged helplessly, "I personally suggest you better not look at it. If your curiosity really gets the better of you, make sure no one else but you sees it."

Chu Ge felt quite reassured with Tong Yaqi. She always knew the importance of things and was meticulous in her work. Storing Chen Yujie's embarrassing footage with her for now was undoubtedly a good choice.

Tong Yaqi nodded, replied with a "Okay," stood up, and slipped the memory card into an unremarkable little zippered pocket in her bag.

Even though she was curious, she wouldn't ask if Chu Ge didn't tell her directly.

Chu Ge smiled, very satisfied with Tong Yaqi's reaction. It seemed he indeed chose the right person, and there was no need for further instructions.

"Now you go back to sleep. I'll head out."

Chu Ge smiled as he watched Tong Yaqi lie back on the bed, then stood up from the edge of the bed and pulled up her quilt.

Tong Yaqi touched Chu Ge's hand on the quilt's corner, "No need to cover me so much, it's hot."

Chu Ge grinned, "What month is it now that could be so hot? It's better to keep covered. Be careful not to catch a cold."

The words were ordinary, but they warmed Tong Yaqi's heart. She smiled lightly at Chu Ge, "Alright, I know. Thank you."

"Thank you for what? We aren't strangers." Chu Ge said with a smile as he turned and walked towards the door.

Watching Chu Ge's silhouette gradually fading away, for some reason, Tong Yaqi's heart suddenly began to race, sparking a mysterious unease.

Just as Chu Ge's silhouette was about to disappear from her sight, Tong Yaqi couldn't hold back and instinctively called out, "Chu Ge."

Chu Ge paused his steps, didn't turn around but glanced sideways at Tong Yaqi, "What's up? Need anything else?"

Tong Yaqi hesitated as she looked at Chu Ge, finally smiled, and shook her head, "Hmm... nothing, it's just... nothing, bye."

Chu Ge slightly raised the corners of his mouth and smiled. Without saying anything, he turned his head and walked out.

When the sound of the door closing reached Tong Yaqi's ears, she touched where her heart was, feeling an increasingly intense unease, raised her hand to rub her forehead, and sighed for no reason.

By this time, Chu Ge had already gone downstairs, casually chatting with a few colleagues from the company as he leisurely strolled out of the leisure club.

The resort was not very far from Chen Jue's fishing pond. Plus, to avoid arousing Qin Ruojing's suspicion, Chu Ge didn't drive, walking along the route he remembered.

In a little over ten minutes, Chu Ge arrived at Chen Jue's fishing pond.

The scenery here was as beautiful as ever, with lush green trees and the sounds of chirping birds and buzzing insects. Lotus flowers gracefully bloomed in the clear pond, and on a round table by the pond were exquisite pastries and a set of high-end tea ware. The teapot emitted steaming heat, releasing a very pleasant tea aroma with the breeze.

The only difference from before was that Chen Jue hadn't prepared any fishing gear today, and it wasn't just Chen Jue there.

Chen Jue was sitting on a chair by the table, holding a cup of aromatic tea, watching the approaching Chu Ge from afar with a smile on his face, though compared to his usual elegance, there was a touch of unpredictability.

Behind Chen Jue stood Bao Zhanhai, with a full beard and a fierce look, arms crossed with a cold gaze and an impassive expression.

Apart from Chen Jue and Bao Zhanhai, lining the path flanking the small round table were over a dozen young men in suits standing erect as if they were spears.

Despite the presence of over a dozen people, the place was extremely quiet, so quiet that everyone could clearly hear the slight sound of Chen Jue sipping his tea, adding a sense of oppressive austerity to the beautiful setting.

Looking at the array Chen Jue had set up for him, Chu Ge slightly raised the corners of his mouth. His face still bore that signature smile, as careless as ever, as he walked towards Chen Jue.

"Tap tap tap..."

In the silence, Chu Ge's footsteps were particularly abrupt, directly overshadowing the sound of Chen Jue sipping tea.

Yet, despite this, apart from Chen Jue and Bao Zhanhai, the other dozen people seemed unaware that someone was approaching. They made no movements, and their gazes did not waver.

"Looks like quite a thing, doesn't it?"

Chu Ge was always a mood killer, and this time was no exception. He scratched his head and muttered carelessly before stepping onto the mottled stone path.

"It's not like it's the first time we've met. Are you giving me a whole aisle welcome?"

There were now only seven or eight meters between Chen Jue and Chu Ge. He continued to smile faintly, staring straight into Chu Ge's eyes, yet he neither spoke nor made any move to rise.

"Tap tap..." Chu Ge walked to the space between the two men standing opposite each other at the back.

The moment Chu Ge came into the sight of these two, their gazes finally showed fluctuation—a fierce, icy glare like blades, fixed on Chu Ge's face from both sides.

As if he had never noticed the murderous aura from these two, Chu Ge's pace remained unchanged, his smile unmoved, and even the rhythm of his breathing was undisturbed.

Chen Jue's mouth slightly curved upward, and his eyelids drooped as he raised a cup of fragrant tea and gently blew on it.

"Swish!"

The simultaneous sound of fingers rubbing against suit fabric rang out as the two men Chu Ge had just passed drew out Type 92 pistols glistening with cold, metallic luster from inside their jackets.

After a short whooshing sound, the men's arms held steady as they aimed the dark muzzles of the guns directly at Chu Ge's head.

With two gun muzzles pointed at his head from behind, Chu Ge seemed oblivious to it all, continuing to walk forward at his same pace, with the same smile, and with not a hint of change in the rhythm of his breathing.

Quickly, he once again passed the two men beside him. As before, they too drew pistols and aimed them at the back of his head.

Chu Ge continued walking forward on his own. When he reached the table, each person he passed raised their right arm steadily, holding a gun, with a dozen black muzzles without exception aiming at his head.

"Yo, Mr. San, you've prepared quite nicely ahead of time, haven't you? But, you've got sausage, shrimp dumplings, turtle jelly, and boiled dried tofu—don't you think it's a bit too much?"

Sitting down carelessly on a chair, Chu Ge casually picked up chopsticks and started eating a crystal shrimp dumpling.

Chen Jue smiled faintly and finally broke his silence, "I didn't know what Mr. Chu likes to eat, nor if any other guests might come, so I prepared a few more dishes. How does Mr. Chu find the shrimp dumplings? To your taste?"

"It's alright, but still a bit lacking compared to mine." Chu Ge quickly finished the shrimp dumpling in his mouth and then stuffed a piece of sausage in, "By the way, you mentioned you invited someone else?"

Chen Jue leaned back in his chair, looking at Chu Ge with interest, "I only invited Mr. Chu. If someone comes uninvited, I can't very well let them go hungry."

At this point, Chen Jue paused, his gaze slightly flicking towards the guns aimed at Chu Ge, his tone subtly changing, "If someone is to make their way from here... they should at least eat their fill, otherwise wouldn't it be considered poor hospitality on my part?"

With such a murderous statement, the entire fish pond's atmosphere became a bit more tense, an intangible yet substantial smell of gunpowder spreading instantly.

However, at this moment, Chu Ge seemed to hear something funny. He "smacked" his chopsticks onto the table and "spat" out a mouthful of chewed sausage, some of which splashed into Chen Jue's tea cup, with some directly reaching Chen Jue's elegantly smiling face.

Immediately, Chu Ge burst into laughter!

This sudden change made everyone except Chu Ge's expression tense. The dozen hands holding guns curled their index fingers on the triggers, while the flesh of Bao Zhanhai's face trembled violently, and he reached inside his jacket.

Just as Bao Zhanhai's large hand touched the gun, Chen Jue suddenly raised his hand and picked up the tea cup that had been splashed with sausage fragments, "Zhanhai, go get me a new cup."

Bao Zhanhai's fingers paused for a few seconds, then finally moved away from the gun, taking the tea cup from Chen Jue's hand.

Chen Jue looked at Chu Ge, pulled a tissue from the dispenser on the table, and elegantly wiped his face.

"Mr. Chu, may I ask what you found funny about my words?"
