The Ultimate Versatile Soldier King

Chapter 359: Roll Call

Even after arriving at the classroom, Du Xin still wore a gloomy expression. It was only when the alluring homeroom teacher entered the classroom that his mood improved slightly.

The homeroom teacher wore a small suit on top and a knee-length short skirt on the bottom, with glasses perched on her nose, appearing to be around thirty years old. Her entire demeanor exuded an intellectual beauty.

"Hello, everyone. I am Dong Li, the homeroom teacher for the second class of the Computer Science Department. For the next year, I will be spending time with all of you. I hope you can cooperate and support my work." Dong Jie stood behind the lectern and wrote her name on the whiteboard with a marker.

Her chest subtly trembled as she wrote, so much so that it seemed like it might pop a button off and jump out from the shirt beneath.

Yang Wei, this spectacled guy known for his unabashedly bold antics even on the first day of school, would certainly not miss out on such an enticing sight. Like him, most of the boys in the class stared without blinking, practically drooling.

Luo Chao hadn't expected that in this Computer Science Department, such an unpopular major would still see such a stunningly attractive teacher. It's rare indeed. Luo Chao selected this major himself, precisely because it was unpopular and would grant him more free time to investigate the schemes of the East Japan people.

"Next, we will start roll call and then choose a few acting class officers, based on current grades as a temporary measure by my appointment. After the formal military training, when everyone is more familiar with one another, we will proceed with the selection again."

"Yang Wei."

"Chen Dong."

"Wang Qianqian."

"Luo Chao."

"…"

In the end, someone from their 2024 dorm managed to get elected as a class officer, and it was Yang Wei. Despite this guy's sleazy and lecherous appearance, his grades were undeniably outstanding. He attained the top spot in total score and became the representative for the National Studies class, the very subject taught by the homeroom teacher.

Yang Wei wiped his saliva with his sleeve, stood up

to introduce himself to the class, and then with a determined expression, said to Dong Jie: "I will definitely not let the teacher down." Dong Jie nodded in satisfaction, seemingly charmed by this kid.

Luo Chao's fake grades positioned him neither high nor low in the class, similar to Fei Yuan and Du Xin. This was what he wanted; he didn't want to waste his precious time managing trivial class matters.

"Alright, Chen Dong, you take a few people to the storeroom to get the camouflaged uniforms for military training and distribute them to everyone else. The rest of the students stay in the classroom." Dong Jie instructed a few more things, left due to having other matters to attend to.

Chen Dong, who was sitting in the front row, stood up and picked a few taller students from the back row, including Luo Chao, as he did appear slightly more robust among this group of bookworms.

Fei Yuan couldn't escape either; he was too conspicuous.

Chen Dong, not very tall, dressed quite plainly, also wore glasses, and ranked second in the class, right after Yang Wei. This made Luo Chao think, is this how all the good students in college look?

Leading Luo Chao and the others through the campus, they finally found the storeroom, two people per group, and carried three large bundles of camouflaged uniforms back.

Luo Chao helped distribute the uniforms, while Chen Dong stood on the lectern.

"Classmates, after receiving your uniforms, you may return to your dorms to rest. Starting tomorrow, we will begin a month-long military training. I hope everyone is prepared."

The students had already known about this military training, so there was no significant reaction. They gradually all left.

The four of them, Luo Chao included, walked together, and as soon as they exited the classroom, they saw a girl standing there, looking around inside as if searching for someone.

The surrounding students paused, captivated by this beautiful girl, eager to find out whom this goddess-like girl was searching for.

The girl immediately noticed Luo Chao as he stepped out, the corners of her mouth slightly curled up into a smile, her large eyes turning into crescent shapes, and she waved in greeting: "Luo Chao."

Everyone was charmed by the girl's smile and, hearing her call out a clearly masculine name, they wanted to see who this extraordinary girl was longing for.

Luo Chao was also stunned to see Tang Yan coming for him. Thinking it over, it wasn't that surprising after all; they were in the same department, so if she really wanted to find someone, she'd easily succeed.

"Shall we take a walk outside?" Tang Yan blushed as she extended the invitation.

Seeing Tang Yan's shy demeanor, everyone's hearts itched, wishing they could hold her close and cherish her. Luo Chao felt his heart sway as well.

"Knowing such a beautiful girl and not introducing her to us is quite unbrotherly." Du Xin said through gritted teeth behind Luo Chao's ear.

Luo Chao smiled lightly, "This is Tang Yan, and she's also from our Computer Science Department."

"These are my roommates, Du Xin, Yang Wei, Fei Yuan."

"Hello." Tang Yan said.

"Hello, sister-in-law, hello, sister-in-law. You're here to see Luo bro, right? Go ahead and don't mind us." Du Xin promptly responded, directly calling her sister-in-law.

Tang Yan's face, already crimson, turned an even deeper shade, resembling a ripe red apple, after hearing herself called sister-in-law.

She opened her mouth to explain but, seeing Du Xin and the others wink at Luo Chao with ambiguous expressions and then dash off, decided against it.

"Let's go." Luo Chao gently said, looking at Tang Yan.

Tang Yan felt her face heat up even more as Luo Chao gazed at her with such intensity. She lowered her head, fiddling with the hem of her clothes. "Mm." She responded softly, almost like a mosquito buzz, so faint that if Luo Chao's hearing wasn't superb, he might not have heard it.

The two of them strolled through the campus, a gentle breeze passing by, lifting a strand of Tang Yan's hair. She raised her jade-like hand, tucking it back behind her ear in a graceful motion.

"Your bag is still in my wardrobe. I'll get it for you later. Wait for me downstairs." Tang Yan dared not look at Luo Chao, focusing instead on a distant view as she spoke.

Luo Chao saw how cute she looked and couldn't help but tease her a bit. "You didn't rummage through my bag, did you? I have lots of personal items in there." In reality, it was just some ordinary clothes.

Tang Yan panicked, "I would never do that. It's very impolite. I can find someone to vouch for me if you don't believe me."

She actually turned her face towards Luo Chao, explaining to him.

Luo Chao looked at Tang Yan, who had turned to face him, and noticed her watery eyes, tears glistening within, appearing ready to cry at any moment.

He hadn't anticipated she couldn't take a tease. Shocked, he hurriedly tried to comfort her.

"Sorry, sorry, it was all my nonsense. The bag actually doesn't contain anything. Please don't cry, okay." Luo Chao had never had to soothe a girl before; the women he had interacted with were also soldiers and female agents, as resilient as him.

Tang Yan saw his flustered and clumsy state and couldn't help but smile through her tears, lightly punching Luo Chao on the shoulder with her small fist.

"You're so annoying for falsely accusing me."

Luo Chao was taken aback by this moment of Tang Yan's charm, her tear-streaked yet smiling face extraordinarily enchanting, her coquettish demeanor reaching straight into Luo Chao's heart.
