Mysterious Assistant of the Washed-Up Queen

Chapter 190: iPartment Wrapping Up 2_2

Now, their minds were completely filled with the name 'Xu Qingqiu.'

"Is it really Xu Qingqiu? Did I see my idol?"

"Wow! For real?"

"Oh my gosh! This is such an amazing surprise! President Chu, is it really the Xu Qingqiu we all know?"

Seeing them like this, Chu Tian couldn't help but chuckle internally. He hadn't expected Xu Qingqiu's fame to be so immense, to the point where even actors could view her as an idol.

"It's her. You're not wrong. Hurry up and introduce yourselves. Don't you want to meet her?"

At his words, the others finally snapped to their senses. They quickly lined up, faces beaming, and began introducing themselves to Xu Qingqiu one by one.

"Teacher Xu, hello. My name is Jiang Nan. I really love your songs. I..."

"Teacher Xu, my name is Wang Yiming. Back in school..."

The group started off orderly, but they soon began good-naturedly competing to prove who was Xu Qingqiu's biggest fan and who knew more of her songs.

Eventually, the actor playing Zeng Xiaoxian was the first to react, finding a pen somewhere and handing it to Xu Qingqiu with an embarrassed smile.

"Teacher Xu, could you please give me an autograph?"

The others then snapped out of it and frantically searched for pens; some even pulled out their phones, wanting to take a photo with her.

Chu Tian was not at all surprised by this and did not attempt to stop it. There was no need.

Xu Qingqiu was equally delighted. She hadn't expected to be so popular, especially in front of Chu Tian.

She saw how Chu Tian juggled variety shows, TV dramas, and company business, on top of songwriting, playing various musical instruments, and arranging music. To say she felt no pressure would be a lie. But seeing so many people admire her, she also breathed a sigh of relief. Feeling a sense of accomplishment, that she wasn't doing too badly after all, she readily agreed to everyone's requests for photos and autographs.

After much hustle and bustle, things finally quieted down.

Somehow, two chairs had appeared, and Chu Tian and Xu Qingqiu sat down, chatting casually with the others.

About half an hour later, the set change was finally complete, the camera was in place, and they began shooting the last scene of the day.

To make it easier for Chu Tian and the others to watch, Cao Zheng had thoughtfully moved the monitor outside, under an awning.

The area was spacious enough to accommodate a few more people.

The camera feed was displayed in real-time on the monitor. They weren't recording yet; it was just the live signal being transmitted.

The previous scene was set in the living room, but this one had moved to the bathroom.

Chu Tian recognized the bathroom but couldn't quite remember which scene it was from.

It wasn't until the actor playing Lv Ziqiao walked out, wrapped in a bath towel and wearing a bathrobe, that Chu Tian suddenly remembered which episode it was.

Wasn't this the scene from the last episode of the first season where Lv Ziqiao used Lu Zhanbo's name to pick up a girl and get a hotel room, only to be cornered in the bathroom by Wanyu and Chen Meijia?

No wonder he hadn't seen these few people in the actors' resting area earlier. It looked like they had gone to get into makeup and prepare.

Indeed, with everyone else having already wrapped their parts, only their group remained. If they had all been together, it probably would have been disruptive. While those who had finished were chatting and snacking, this group still had to memorize lines and get into makeup. That would surely be distracting, so it seemed they had been kept separate.

Just as he was thinking this, the crew signaled they were ready, and Lv Ziqiao also got into the bathtub.

"Okay, Scene 562, Shot 1, Take 1!"

「...」

With the sound of the clapperboard, the final scene began.

The process of shooting, playback, reshooting, selecting a take, changing camera angles, and other tasks proceeded in an orderly fashion.

Chu Tian and Xu Qingqiu were also watching the whole time.

Although he had acted in many productions in his previous life, he had never been a director. At most, he had previously sat in this position to watch playback and listen to the director explain the scene. Now, having sat here all this while, he finally realized that being a director was not so easy.

From the moment he sat down, Cao Zheng hadn't stopped moving. He watched the monitor feed intently, occasionally pointing out to the cinematographer if a shot was slightly off.

If there was a continuity error, he would quickly call "NG!" and make adjustments. If the lighting wasn't quite right, he'd have the gaffer tweak it.

Then, the sound engineer complained about background noise over the walkie-talkie, and the assistant director shot up as if a firecracker had just exploded, rushing to find the stagehands.

And when an actor flubbed their lines, Cao Zheng could only suppress his annoyance and wait.

Thankfully, these were all normal occurrences, and production was still slowly progressing.

After the final shot was filmed, the cinematographer's voice came through the walkie-talkie.

"Director, are we good?"

Everyone on set waited quietly; the actors also stood in place, awaiting the director's word.

Cao Zheng looked at Chu Tian and asked quietly,

"President Chu, what do you think? Is this take acceptable?"

Chu Tian didn't really know if it was acceptable or not, but he understood that Cao Zheng was making a gesture of goodwill. However, he always adhered to the principle of not meddling unnecessarily, so he shook his head and said,

"You're the director; you make the call."

Cao Zheng glanced at him and asked, seeking his input,

"Then it's a take. This is the last shot. President Chu, would you like to announce the wrap?"

Chu Tian quickly waved his hands. There was no need for that. He was here to show the company's support, not to steal the spotlight.

"No, no, Cao. You're the director; it should be you. Don't mind me, just act as if I'm not here."

Only after much persuasion from Chu Tian did Cao Zheng finally give up on the idea.

He then picked up the walkie-talkie, stood up, glanced around the set, and announced,

"This take is good! I hereby announce that iPartment, Season One, is officially WRAPPED!!"
