I Sell Bottled Water for Gold in Another World!

Chapter 158:Bidding Farewell to Kavya's Parents

Kavita too felt it odd so she felt compelled to clarify. "I specifically mean owning a house located within Mumbai city limits."

She needed to be absolutely clear about this important detail.

Alex nodded again in confirmation without any hesitation.

Kavya's father Rajesh felt curious and could not help asking "Which part of Mumbai is your house located? Is it in the city center or in the suburbs?

Of course we do not care excessively about money. We simply want to know clearly for planning purposes.

We own four houses throughout Mumbai. If you two get married we will keep one apartment for ourselves to live in. The other three properties can be given to you both.

Please do not worry. We are not the kind of snobbish materialistic parents who will only approve of a wealthy son-in-law.

As long as you genuinely like each other and can live a good life together that is all that truly matters."

Alex felt touched by this generous family. It was not like he lacked houses but still their generosity was really something else.

They seemed genuinely kind and well-intentioned.

As expected of people from a major metropolitan city. Their thinking was remarkably open-minded.

They were not like him who had become recently rich, they were rich and refined while he was just...rich.

There was a difference in how old money carried itself.

They had grace and warmth that came from generations of stability.

Alex continued answering the questions honestly. "My house is located in the city center and it is actually a villa property."

It was told as politely as Alex could but it delivered a great shock to all of them.

The words hung in the air for a long moment then they all exploded.

Kavya was absolutely stunned!

What?!

This security guy actually owned a villa in the center of Mumbai?

Had she accidentally pulled in some hidden wealthy second-generation heir for this fake boyfriend scheme?

What were the odds? Oh God!

Rajesh laughed heartily and nodded with tremendous satisfaction. "That is excellent news!

To own a villa in the center of Mumbai means that your family background is also quite prosperous and well-off.

In this way we can be considered a good match for each other.

By the way I wonder when you two are planning to hold the wedding ceremony?"

"What?" Alex nearly choked.

"A wedding ceremony?"

Alex who had been casually eating an apple piece almost spit out his food in surprise.

Wait a moment.

Getting married just from meeting each other once?

This progression was far too fast! These people moved at lightning speed!

Alex rushed to correct this misunderstanding. "Not so fast please.

We have not reached that stage yet in our relationship. We have only just been dating for a short while."

He needed to pump the brakes on this situation immediately before it spiraled further out of control.

Kavya also blushed deeply and said in a panicked voice "Dad even if marriage is eventually desired it requires proper steps and formality!

We are not at that serious stage yet so let us not even discuss getting married right now."

After saying this she glanced sideways at Alex.

Looking at his handsome profile her heart began beating faster involuntarily.

The afternoon sunlight caught his features perfectly, highlighting his strong jawline.

Alex's appearance and demeanor touched something in Kavya's heart.

She found herself thinking that maybe getting officially registered for marriage right now would not be completely impossible after all?

The thought shocked her but she couldn't completely dismiss it either. When had she become so impulsive?

---

Alex seeing the things growing exponentially fast wanted to find a reasonable excuse to leave immediately but he ultimately failed to escape.

He was enthusiastically detained by Kavya's extremely hospitable parents who insisted he stay for dinner. They wouldn't take no for an answer.

During the meal Kavya's parents asked Alex numerous questions.

Alex answered them fluently and confidently without showing any awkwardness.

He maintained a pleasant smile on his face throughout the interrogation of her parents.

He handled their questions with surprising ease and charm.

After understanding Alex's background and character Kavya's parents practically wanted to drag their daughter and Alex to get their marriage certificate registered immediately.

They had never been so impressed by any young man before.

Throughout the dinner conversation Kavya's parents kept serving food to Alex.

They piled his bowl high with various dishes until it resembled a small mountain.

Every time he finished something, more food appeared.

Kavya who was sitting nearby observed this scene.

She thought to herself that she must have been adopted because Alex was clearly being treated like their biological son instead of her. The favoritism was almost comical.

Kavya's parents were far too enthusiastic and hospitable.

It doesn't feel good when your fake boyfriend is treated better than you by your own parents.

Alex too felt somewhat overwhelmed by their intense attention on him.

He had never experienced such aggressive hospitality before.

After finishing his meal Alex finally found a reasonable excuse to leave.

Alex said his farewells politely. "Auntie and Uncle I still have work responsibilities this evening so I must leave now. I will definitely visit again next time."

"Kavya dear why do you not escort the young man downstairs?" her father suggested with a meaningful look.

"Yes exactly. Since he is so busy with work but still took time to visit us we should give him a proper send-off," her mother agreed enthusiastically.

Kavya's parents were extremely enthusiastic.

Therefore it finally fell to Kavya to escort Alex downstairs.

Kavya could only accept the situation silently. At least it gave her a chance to talk to him alone.

After escorting Alex downstairs she could not help but ask nervously

"My parents now genuinely believe you are my real boyfriend. What are we going to do next about this situation?"

Alex blinked innocently. "What should we do about it?"

Kavya's face turned noticeably red with embarrassment. "I mean can we possibly meet again later?"

Alex shrugged casually. "Sure that is fine with me. It is really no big deal."

Kavya felt encouraged by his easy agreement, thinking that there was a chance for her.

Perhaps this fake relationship could become something real?
