Cultivating Through The Game

Chapter 212: Yama Sect

Inside Sanshi Village, in the house of the Stone Shaman, Lu Yu sat across from the Stone Shaman.

"Can I ask where that fiery stone was obtained earlier?" Lu Yu looked at the Stone Shaman and asked.

The Stone Shaman hesitated for a moment, then smiled and said, "Sure, the Red Fire Flame Stone was brought back twenty years ago by the previous shaman. Not long after the former shaman brought back the Red Fire Flame Stone, he passed away. While sorting through his belongings, I found a map in his travel bag."

"A map? Can I take a look?" Lu Yu quickly said.

"I'll find it," the Stone Shaman stood up and began searching the room for the map left by the previous shaman.

The shaman's room was filled with various items that all seemed steeped in history: yellowed animal bones, animal skins, dried herbs and animals, ancient broken stone slabs, and a huge horned bull's head hanging on the wall.

From behind a blackened wooden shelf, the shaman found a very tattered and ancient-looking grass map.

It was definitely a grass map; Lu Yu could see the texture of every strand of dry grass woven into the map, giving it a somewhat unique appearance.

The shaman spread the grass map on the table. The map only had a few simple drawings, making it difficult to understand what they represented, and there were no textual annotations.

Whether the previous shaman found the fifth Fire Jade through the grass map or discovered this grass map when obtaining the fifth Fire Jade remained unknown.

If it was the former, Lu Yu truly admired the previous Stone Shaman for being able to comprehend such an extremely abstract map.

The shaman looked at the grass map and said, "This map is somewhat special, impervious to water and fire. Beyond that, I'm not sure if there's anything else special about it."

"As for the few drawings on it, I can't understand them either. I can only tell you that the destination this map points to is not near An Nan City, or even the farthest place I can reach."

Hearing the shaman say this, Lu Yu had no choice but to study the grass map himself.

Before doing so, Lu Yu asked, "Can I have this map?"

The Stone Shaman touched his wound and, with a smile, said, "Of course, if the map is useful to you, please take it. After all, you are the benefactor who saved our Sanshi Village."

"I wouldn't dare call myself a benefactor. If Xiang Cao hadn't brought me back to Sanshi Village, I might already be dead in the jungle wilderness," Lu Yu said seriously.

"Haha~" The Stone Shaman chuckled twice, brushing aside who was whose benefactor.

Suddenly, the village chief knocked on the door, entered after receiving the Stone Shaman's permission, whispered a few words in the Stone Shaman's ear, and the Stone Shaman turned to Lu Yu and said, "Sorry, there's something outside that needs my attention."

After saying this, the Stone Shaman quickly followed the village chief out of the room.

Lu Yu stared at the map on the table, released the Celestial Falling Bright Flame, and the bright golden Celestial Falling Bright Flame dimmed, becoming nearly transparent and reducing in temperature to about that of an ordinary flame.

He picked up the map and burned it, continuously increasing the temperature of the Celestial Falling Bright Flame, but the map showed no signs of being burned, nor did it reveal any hidden content when exposed to fire.

Unwilling to give up, Lu Yu again used the Netherworld Cold Qi to freeze the map, but the map remained unchanged.

There were still four simple line drawings on it: three overlapping triangles without bases, a mushroom-like shape that was large at the top and straight at the bottom, and a circle with five vertical lines inside.

At the center of these three shapes was a square divided into two halves.

These three patterns likely represented unique landscapes, and the divided square in the middle of the map was probably the destination.

If this map points to the Land of Fire and Ice, then the square in the center should be the Land of Fire and Ice.

Without understanding what the three patterns meant, finding the Land of Fire and Ice surrounded in the center would be impossible.

"If this map comes from the Land of Fire and Ice..."

Lu Yu lifted the grass map with Spiritual Power, frost appearing in his left hand and flame in his right, both forces simultaneously acting on the grass map.

The grass map did not change at all.

"Doesn't work?" Lu Yu felt a bit disappointed and was about to withdraw his Spiritual Power when he noticed that as the fire and ice powers entered the central square, it began to change.

The left side turned blue, and the right side turned red, seemingly representing the powers of fire and ice.

Immediately after, the other three patterns also changed, and the dry grasses woven into the map began to wriggle, transforming over time. Lu Yu found the patterns becoming easier to understand.

The overlapping triangles without bases were actually a three-tiered mountain.

"…", Lu Yu wondered if he misinterpreted the map—how could mountains overlap?

He continued to look further.

The mushroom-like pattern was actually a large lake that appeared at the mountain's peak.

Lu Yu was flabbergasted; a lake atop a mountain was one thing, but how could the top be bigger than the base?

You'd think it was Dubai's sky pool!

The circle with five vertical lines referred to a place where one could touch the sun.

"This must be an abstract metaphor! Surely you can't actually touch the sun..." Lu Yu felt uncertain. After all, the Divine Martial World was a mystical place, and if someone could truly touch the sun, it wouldn't be impossible.

"What the hell is this nonsensical stuff? Can't there be something normal? Like a city, a road, or a mountain range?"

Other than knowing to find three overlapping mountain peaks, a mountain with a giant lake atop, and a place where one could touch the sun.
