"He didn't take this sword."
A shadow emerged behind Aron Jackson once again.
Looking at the sword in the corner, the shadow's voice carried a smile.
"He's changed. In the past, he would've picked up that sword without any hesitation." Aron Jackson took out a pack of cigarettes from his coat, removed the last cigarette, and tossed the pack into the forging platform.
The pack vanished instantly in the flames.
He searched his pockets, realizing he'd forgotten matches.
"Need a light?" The shadow opened its palm, a flame appearing instantly.
Aron Jackson leaned his cigarette forward, "Thanks."
The spacious forging platform echoed only with the sound of smoking.
The shadow spoke slowly, "You're wrong. It's not caution, it's intentional."
"Intentional?" Aron Jackson flicked the ash from his cigarette, suddenly realizing, "I knew it, there's no way he'd suddenly become timid. He was always... a daring person."
"What do we do next?" Aron Jackson tossed the cigarette butt to the ground, grinding it underfoot harshly.
He deliberately left a mark.
"Do you think his personality will yield?" The shadow gazed in the direction Julius Reed had left, grasping the cold, biting sword with one hand.
Even with flames roasting inside the cave, as the blade was slowly drawn, it still felt somewhat chilling.
This coldness seemed to arise from hell.
Causing one's heart to wince uncontrollably.
"How could he possibly yield? From my many years of experience following him, nothing can change what he sets out to do." Aron Jackson shuddered a bit, feeling cold.
Clang!
The shadow reinserted the sword. "I'll make him yield, believe it?"
"Should I believe it or not?" Aron Jackson chuckled mockingly, scratching his head.
"He doesn't want to take this sword; I'll make him take it." The shadow finished speaking and vanished into the darkness.
Standing in place, Aron Jackson sighed. "What to do about Quella Radcliffe? Kill or not kill?"
The shadow didn't respond.
As if it truly left.
"The matters in Gonzalez City are prepared. Now, just waiting for him to return to the mountain and open the true Divine Dragon Tripod." Aron Jackson spoke again.
This time, finally a reply came.
"Don't concern yourself with Gonzalez City's matters. From now on, watch him closely. Any information, inform me immediately."
"You're his friend, and if discovered, only you may survive."
Whoosh!
The shadow completely vanished.
Aron Jackson touched his head, reminiscing the carefree days of drinking and flirting in Gonzalez City.
But there was no choice; caught by this fellow, he had no options.
Either obey or die.
No room to negotiate.
"Really thrilling." Afraid the cigarette butt might go unnoticed, Aron Jackson even kicked it outside.
...
The artificial mountain where the forging platform was located is restricted ground.
Moon Manor's forbidden area.
Upon emerging, Levin Lake immediately commanded the elite sword cultivators under him to guard the place, not letting anyone near.
He himself began investigating the mysterious young man.
But unfortunately.
They gained nothing.
They only controlled Dorian Cook's whereabouts.
The young man seemed to vanish, and the surveillance throughout Moon Manor couldn't catch a trace.
In fact, the most dangerous place is the safest place.
Julius Reed was wandering inside the manor house, perfectly evading patrolling sword cultivators.
The words etched by Pranay Martinez on the wall and the sword in the corner perplexed him.
If indeed as he guessed, Pranay Martinez considers the entire world as his chessboard, it'd be a super enhanced version of Devlin.
Difficult to deal with.
Even more strange was that sword.
In Julius Reed's mind, what Pranay Martinez wrote on the wall wasn't perfect.
At first glance, it seemed fine.
But the real issue was, before the Great Xia Dragon Sparrow, there was another era.
An era many historical books didn't mention, even interpreted as myths.
Humans have imagination, but basic imagination relies on existing events.
Legendary myths were once not myths at all.
Back then, the gods clashed in chaos, actually a series of disturbances.
Finally, seven victors became known as the Seventh Emperors.
Years later, the Seventh Emperors launched another purge.
Julius Reed single-handedly defeated those people with powers far beyond ordinary folk.
Restored balance to the world.
He was like this world's immune organ, eliminating all potential threats.
Trying to keep this world running healthily.
Pranay Martinez's first weapon couldn't be the Great Xia Dragon Sparrow.
But the cold blade in the corner.
No records, no name, very few people knew.
Yet Julius Reed knew its name.
Twilight of the Gods.
At the moment he turned in the forging platform, he took out the "Opening Sky Book."
Sure enough, the page recording the sword immediately came into clear view.
But to his surprise, even as he moved away, the sword's illustration persisted without fading.
This was different from before.
Could it be, this sword has some special meaning?
Though its ranking on the weapon list is very high, it shouldn't cause such a situation.
The sword's page, incredibly clear!
No sign of dissipating.
Twilight of the Gods!
'The world shouldn't have so-called gods.'
'The so-called gods were merely exceptionally strong people.'
'They glimpsed fate, seeking immortality, becoming superior.'
'But someone shattered it all with a single stroke.'
'Twilight of the Gods has come.'
'After twilight is dawn.'
'Humanity's dawn.'
Reading the description, Julius Reed smiled.
Being able to recall things he hadn't yet forgotten means he hadn't lost memory.
Without memory loss, everything is manageable.
Suddenly.
The temperature sharply dropped.
Julius Reed put away the "Opening Sky Book," placing his right hand on the sword hilt at his waist.
This is a dangerous aura, but somewhat familiar.
As if encountered somewhere before.
Twilight of the Gods!
Yes!
Twilight of the Gods!
This is the aura of Twilight of the Gods!
Cold!
Biting!
Frightening!
But isn't Twilight of the Gods near the forging platform?
This is far from the forging platform, at least a kilometer away!
Julius Reed swiftly stood!
Looking back.
A sword without luster was just stabbed into the ground.
Twilight of the Gods has no sheath.
At least according to the "Opening Sky Book," there's no sheath.
But the sword at the forging platform clearly has a sheath.
This only leaves one possibility!
The cold is too intense; once touched, it leads to death.
To safely hold the sword, a later person crafted a sheath to suppress that cold aura.
Now, the sheath is gone.
Only a bare sword!
A familiar feeling emerged in Julius Reed's mind.
He greatly wished to grab the sword!
But he mustn't!
Who!
Who placed this sword before him?
And being able to come and go freely, how could it remain unnoticed?
Julius Reed closed his eyes, unable to detect any presence.
He glanced at the sword, then turned and walked away.
