"What a corny villain line." Eryke's expression twisted oddly as he looked at the Sect Master of the Million Gold Sect.
"Hmph." The fat man snorted in disdain. "Don't think the Million Gold Sect is an easy target. If you were facing our hordes of Martial Artists, you would have only encountered First-stage or lower Martial Artists. However, now you'll be facing a Transcendent Martial Artist."
"What does it matter how high your strength is?" Eryke shook his head with contempt. "Such pitiful power is nothing more than that of an ant to me."
"Oh?" The man arched his brows. "Are you claiming you're stronger than our Sect Ancestor?"
"Yes." Eryke replied with a single word, his Sword Will humming in agreement.
"..." The Sect Leader hesitated before speaking. "If that's the case, then why didn't you wipe out all those hordes of Martial Artists before coming here?"
"This is because I have no interest." Eryke looked directly at the Sect Leader with a casual demeanor. "I am not a murderer who slaughters everyone in my path. I avoid killing as much as possible. Unfortunately…"
Eryke paused. He raised his hand toward the sky as his aura erupted from his body, condensing into an Aura Sword within his grasp.
The Sword Will behind him moved in sync with the Aura Sword in his hand.
"You guys wouldn't let me live, so I won't let you live either." To the naked eye, it looked like Eryke was slowly slashing downward, but that was merely a sign of extreme speed. "Prepare to turn into material for my Fifth spell."
The Sect Leader's eyes widened as he shouted, "Prepare the defensive formation!"
"Yes!" Hundreds of First-stage Martial Artists rushed to form ranks behind the Sect Leader. Their Wills erupted, manifesting various weapons: bows, swords, halberds, shields, scythes, spears, each shimmering with power.
The Sect Leader extended his hand, his Will manifesting as a golden ingot faintly shimmering in sync with his body.
As a First-stage Martial Artist, his Will had already merged with his flesh.
Then, together, they stomped the ground and thrust their palms forward, unleashing a terrifying momentum that sought to resist Eryke's Sword Will.
For an instant, the strike was halted, only a split second, before Eryke's Sword Will tore through the Martial Artists' Wills and continued forward, unstoppable.
"How…!?" The Sect Leader cried out in despair, coughing blood from the backlash as his Will shattered against Eryke's.
"Grandmaster, save us!" he screamed with a pang of helplessness clouding his mind.
Boom!
The Sword Will crashed down, unleashing a cataclysmic impact that shook the ground as though an earthquake had struck. Dust billowed upward, veiling the entire area in a thick shroud.
Eryke calmly stared ahead, his blue pupils swirling as if they could pierce through the haze. "I thought he was bluffing, but there really is a Transcendent Martial Artist, huh."
As the dust gradually settled, a grey-haired old man was revealed, a hunched figure leaning on a frail-looking cane.
Behind him, every Martial Artist of the Million Gold Sect stood completely unscathed.
"Cough, cough." The old man hacked twice and tiredly fixed his gaze on Eryke. "I have never seen anyone like you. You aren't even a Martial Artist, yet you wield such a terrifying Sword Will. I cannot comprehend how you possess such strength."
"Well." Eryke shrugged casually. "I'm not from this world, old man." His eyes narrowed. "You're quite extraordinary yourself."
"Haha, this old man is not worthy." The elder laughed weakly, his body trembling as he spoke. "Tell me, what must I do to earn your forgiveness?"
"Nothing." Eryke shook his head. "That child of yours, I already know his nature through my eyes. He's someone who will never forget a grudge, even when he's the one in the wrong. And I have no interest in letting my loved ones suffer because of my kindness."
"I see." The old man muttered, his gaze drifting into the distance. "So you have no interest in making amends?"
"Nope, old man." Eryke sneered.
"Very well, then. Don't blame these old bones." The elder's eyes gleamed like those of a devil as an invisible force erupted outward, engulfing him in an instant.
"Is this a domain?" Eryke asked, his eyes scanning the surroundings with a serious expression. The Sword Will behind him stirred, his presence sharp and his mind steeled.
The terrifying pressure of the Transcendent Martial Artist bore down on Eryke, pushing him back slowly but surely.
He struggled to withstand it, but against the old man's overwhelming force, he was gradually driven backward, bit by bit.
"Ahhh!" Eryke roared as the Sword Will behind him surged to its peak, clashing fiercely against the crushing pressure.
The Aura Sword was clutched in both hands and raised high as Eryke poured all of his comprehension of the Sword into a single, decisive slash. The Sword Will behind him hummed in perfect sync.
And then he slashed out…
Bang!
The old man's domain was cleaved in half, and the suffocating pressure instantly vanished for Eryke.
"Ho! Ha!" Eryke knelt on the ground, his body wracked with pain. Countless sword marks scarred him, the backlash from his own power more intense than he had anticipated and even known was possible.
Meanwhile, the old man remained completely calm. A faint trickle of blood ran from the corner of his mouth, but that was all.
Eryke barely kept his ground, a ferocious grin spreading across his face. "Old man, it isn't easy for you to defeat me."
"We shall see." The old man extended his hand, and a strange, suffocating pressure surged toward Eryke like a crashing wave.
Eryke was swallowed by the oppressive force but stood his ground calmly. "The same trick won't work on me twice." He slashed again with his Aura Sword, the Sword Will in perfect sync, shattering the domain once more.
This time, the backlash was far less severe, and he recovered almost instantly. Meanwhile, more blood trickled from the corner of the old man's mouth.
