"By travelling to this world," Grey spoke with a poker face.
The old man was unbearably excited; he tightly clutched Grey's shoulder and spoke, "How were you able to do it? The space in this world is tightly locked now."
"..." Grey became silent. He couldn't say that this was because of his title, could he?
That was extremely stupid, so he just answered with no answers.
The old man also realized that he was prying too deep and immediately stopped insisting. Lifting his hands off Grey's shoulder, he spoke with a weary sigh, "Sorry."
"It's fine," Grey finally commented.
"Thank you." The old man nodded his head, then he paused, hesitation clear in his eyes.
Grey could accurately find that hesitation and asked, "What's wrong, old man?"
"I…" the old man swallowed hard but didn't speak after some time of contemplation.
"Hmm?" Grey raised an eyebrow upon seeing this.
"I once had a friend who came from another world."
"I see." Grey's pupils flashed. It was probably another guy from Earth. It was not like no one had ever come to this world, but considering that this world wasn't filled with dangers, they probably all returned.
"You don't seem surprised."
"Were they similar to me?" Grey asked.
"Yes, she was very similar to you," the old man sighed.
"...." Grey muttered in his heart, 'She?' Then his gaze went towards his granddaughter inadvertently.
"That's not it." He hurriedly refuted Grey's eyes, upon noticing what he was hinting at. "I married another woman."
Grey patted the old man's shoulder and adjusted his collar, "It's fine, old man, you don't need to be embarrassed just because you have minus rizz."
The old man froze in place, his left eyebrow twitching inadvertently, and even though he had no clue what the hell Grey was talking about, the condescending tone in which Grey spoke somehow made him feel offended.
Meanwhile, Grey was thinking in his heart, 'Was she an old woman, or is this old man a pervert who likes young women?' There was no age limit to awakening, and even those on their deathbed had disappeared in the first wave of Awakening and never returned.
So maybe the woman was old.
"Cough." The old man distracted the awkward silence, especially feeling the questioning gaze of his granddaughter behind him. Then he briefly hesitated before finally speaking, "Do you know of a way that we can travel back to your world?"
"..." Grey looked at the old man silently. The old man definitely had some feelings, per se. It seemed like the woman probably left after completely taking the heart of the old man.
The old man sincerely bowed his head, "Don't be offended, Master Grey. I am eternally grateful for the favour of allowing my Grimoire to advance into the Mythical Rank and will do anything to repay you."
He lifted his right sleeve, and there was a strange tattoo of a devil's mark.
"What's this?" Grey looked at the strange tattoo and raised his brows.
"I… I am also from another world, but not your world," the old man answered.
"What!?" Grey was estranged by this plot twist.
"Yes."
"How are you still here?" From what he knew, there was a certain time limit, and if one survived until then, they would simply return. But this old man's legend was at least more than thirty years old, so how could it be possible for him to not be sent back, unless…
"I am not from your world," the old man sighed. "I came here when I was betrayed by my comrades and was forced to travel."
"How do you know that?"
"Because you do not have the mark." The old man pointed at his own mark and spoke.
"... How do you know that your old friend is from my world?" Grey asked his most curious question now. Was it that obvious?
"I am sorry, but I have been spying on you from the first time you got here, and you wore similar kinds of clothes to my old friend when you came here. Not to mention, with a stable space, you shouldn't be able to travel, but you are just like my old friend," the old man sincerely said.
Grey felt a chill down his back. There were many strong and powerful people in the world, even though this old man probably didn't have negative intentions towards others…
He wasn't scared of the clones. Even if they died, they could be revived, although all the progress would be removed. But what made him scared was Eryke, if he died, then everything would be over.
Taking a deep breath, Grey spoke, "If you want to travel to my world, then you are out of luck, old man. It is impossible for you to travel."
"I see." The old man grumbled, more so disappointed, but he seemed to have expected it. "Thank you for your time, Master Grey."
"I am curious, what kind of a world do you guys have?" Grey questioned.
"I lived in a world where one had a birthmark since birth, and this birthmark granted you a connection to our world. The more we cultivated our birthmark, the closer we were to the world and the more we could draw upon its power," the old man quickly explained. "However, now that I am here, this mark doesn't work, and I am helplessly stranded here."
"Hmm." Grey nodded his head. That power seemed similar to the power of the demi-god in the Telekinetic and Dragon world.
However, it was completely and distinctively different, because one drew upon it forcefully, while the tattoo was a natural one.
Meaning that the demi-gods could use their power even if they were in a completely different world, but those tattoos only worked in that world.
A power that could be overpowered and weak at the same time.
Time passed in the blink of an eye. After a bloody battle, a princess emerged victorious, bathed in a river of blood.
She stood tall and proud, with a cold expression on her face.
"The coronation ceremony has ended," the king announced from his icy throne.
