The hivemind is conquering for me?

Chapter 538: The Return

As soon as I closed the door to the bedroom, Orchid jumped onto me and hugged me tight. She started rubbing her head across my neck in a delicate manner and moaned softly.

"Well, I was going to ask what is the matter with you considering the fact you were acting differently. Were you just feeling affectionate?" Orchid paused for a moment as she nodded her head before she went back to the rubbing.

A short amount of time later she explained. "With this role Orchid is portraying. Orchid cannot show you as much as she wishes to. Orchid is trying, but she needs her nourishment of Apollo-love to continue."

I hugged Orchid tightly. I needn't say anything as we both knew what each other was thinking at that moment. After she had gotten what she needed, We kissed softly, tenderly for a moment before getting undressed.

Orchid looked down at the caged beast with a confused expression on her face. "Janine." I said simply, causing her to frown. She liked full skin contact as much as I did, but with a form that wasn't one of my lovers sharing the bed with us, it wasn't right. Especially when Janine gets drunk, I didn't want her to do anything she would regret.

As we arrived back downstairs, Janine was already in the bed mat fast asleep. Wrapped like a burrito in the large blanket, leaving nothing for Orchid and I. "Well, that sorts out who was going to be the middle spoon." I chuckled. We didn't really need blankets, but it was nice having something over us, but again. It wasn't the end of the world, we would just snuggle till we fell asleep.

As we got onto the bed mat , I turned to Nerissa, who had already positioned herself in the perfect spot to watch me sleep. "See you in a few hours." I said with a playful wink before closing my eyes and enjoyed the sensation of Orchid pressed against my body.

Nerissa did not say anything, Only smiled softly as she thought to herself.

'Sleep well.'

...

"I-I don't like this, we are in a designated dead zone here. What if something attacks the sub? This is a smuggling sub, there are no defenses!" Wendy exclaimed to the stoic, sensual sight before.

She hadn't expected to come along for this part of the agreement. She saw herself as useless before the alien in front of her and didn't understand her value here.

"I am all the defence this thing needs. I have read reports on the dangers of this ocean. Trust me, the biggest living thing in it is only twenty five meters. And it's not even carnivorous. We will be fine."

Samantha then looked back at the sonar system. They were drawing close to the location, she needed to get close and from there, she could then guide herself. "S-So what are we looking for?"

Wendy tried to speak calmly, but as much as she admired the entity before her, she was still in awe and fear of the creature it had turned into yesterday. She had never seen anything like it and humans were prone to being afraid of new things.

Samantha looked at Wendy once more and narrowed her eyes in an amused smile. "I remember when I was in your situation. The fear. It is very raw. My mother nurtured that fear into an understanding until it washed away... I won't be doing that. The fear is beneficial for now, it's proof that I am the goal you wish to aspire to. But once that goal has been reached, your fear will no longer exist. It is a futile emotion and one we have no need for."

Wendy gulped, but said nothing as Samantha continued. "As for what we are looking for?" Samantha smirked as the image of her love burned brightly in her mind. "We are retrieving our future."

...

...

...

"Ok, but like what specifically? Like I said, this is a dead zone, there isn't much here." Wendy asked, her curiosity getting the better of her. Samantha just sighed. She wanted to sound cryptic, but I guess that wouldn't cut it with this one...

"We are looking for a sphere roughly eight meters in circumference. It crashed into the planet a few weeks ago surrounded by a large rock shell that made it look like a meteor. I received report of where it made impact and we are now very close so-"

Samanta's eyes suddenly glossed over, freaking Wendy out who leaned back in her chair as Samantha's movements became autonomous, no longer her own. She took personal control of the submarine and started descending down hastily.

It was a good thing that the Cacia family didn't skimp on their submarines and only used the best of the best as others might have imploded at the sudden descent. Still, with the depth they were now at, the submarines were not meant for this much pressure and began to creak, freaking Wendy out.

Just as she was about to scream for her life, Samantha let go of the controls and glanced at the sonar that was finally detecting a living structure right below them. "Turn on all the lights we have, I am going for a little swim."

"Are you crazy? The amount of atmospheric pressure out there is mental! You will die in sec-Gah!" Wendy's throat suddenly felt tight as a hand was wrapped around it. She could still breathe, but just barely.

"Shhh. Don't you worry your little head about it. Do you think I am foolish? I would not go out if I could not survive. Now, go and turn on the lights. I might have prepared my body for this pressure, but my eyesight will be useless and I require all the stimulation I can get."

She then leant in and licked Wendy's cheek with her long tongue. "You need to remember something going forward. I am not something that cares for your family's so called power. You do not have the luxury of being foolish around me. I am your master. Understood?"

Wendy didn't know how to react except for nodding her head. As reward for her correct action, she was given the blessing of full breathing functions once more. "Good. Now, lights." Samantha said as she began walking to the hull hatch."

Samantha took a deep breath as she submerged herself in the water that filled up this specialised room. As the pressure began to lower in the room , she began to change her body.

The form she took was chunky and rather bloated. A sight she would never allow Apollo to see, regardless of the fact he would not care if it was hideous. This form was not combat orientated in the slightest and was merely a part of the experiment she placed on her form for this mission. She had short fins and a series of tentacles that would appear shortly after the pressure was let in and her body shrinks.

The most important thing though was the development of her gills and airbladder. She had to get used to the sensation of the gas diffusion as she felt the urge to inhale even now as the water passed through the gills.

She had time to practice as the pressure continued to build. Her form continued to constrict until she looked less like a blob of flesh and more like an eldritch creature of the deep. Eventually she didn't feel the pressure changing anymore and knew it was safe to open the hatch.

In truth, Samantha was a little afeared. This wasn't her element. She might have been turned into an apex predator, but she was still a land based predator. And worse, she still had that twinge of herself inside of her. That hypocritical human part. It felt afraid. Not for herself. But for the fate of the new cult and for Apollo. If something went wrong. It would be her fault and her fault alone.

As Samantha allowed the hatch to open by flipping the lever with one of her tentacles, She began to slowly swim towards where the lights were shining. If any other fish were inside of this dead zone, they would be laughing at their fellow as it looked like it was the strange fish's first day with fins.

It was a sight. What should have been maybe thirty seconds of swimming took up to five minutes. Eventually though. She did make it. Sure enough, the Sphere was here. Samantha could feel a thrumming from it.

It was familiar. The sensation was what she felt on the other side of that bridge when she helped Apollo heal himself with Sophia's nest pod. Only there was no bridge. The other side was right there. Calling to her. Demanding her to link herself."

And so she did. This was not her answering a summons, this was her reuniting with the main form she was but a spec of. She embraced it. As soon as a tendril was placed upon the sphere, Her mind was instantly dragged across space. Galaxies beyond Galaxies to a sight before her.

She was shrieking louder than ever before. So powerful, yet the screams waves crashed against a golden barrier. She wasn't pressed or even frustrated. She had the upper hand, ultimately, and was draining the domain of the god entity before her. Though she had to admit, the god was persistent. Its concept had kept it at full power for a shocking amount of time.

It was then that she felt a unique mind within herself. Not one that was usually there, but one she had been told to be made aware of for the sake of Apollo.

"Ah, They Former Hybrid. Welcome back to us Samantha, we have been expecting you."
