I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan

Chapter 372 Three Tasks!_2

Tang Jie hung up the phone, sobbing. "Wen Qiong, Little Tangtang was just kidnapped! She was shopping for groceries with my sister and some bad guys took her!"

"Did you call the police? Let's hurry back and help look for her."

"Yes, we did. Several men grabbed Little Tangtang, threw her into a van, and drove off."

"Brother Xia, I can't eat now," Tang Jie pleaded. "Could you please hurry and take us back? My little niece was taken by kidnappers, and we have to find her!"

Seeing the wealthy young woman's tear-streaked face, Xia Liang immediately agreed. "Okay, we'll go right now. I'll definitely help. In fact, I can have some people look into it. Give me the details; maybe we can track them down."

Tang Jie was overjoyed. "Thank you so much, Brother Xia! Please, help me find the car they took her in."

Although she wasn't sure what to expect, she was grasping at straws, desperate to cling to any sliver of hope.

Xia Liang got the vehicle's details over the phone. In no time, he received an exact location from Xiao Qianxi.

"Please buckle up and hold on tight," he said, his tone shifting. "I've found a clue. I'm taking you to Little Tangtang now."

"What? Is that true? You found her so quickly?"

"You have to trust in the power of the people. You'll see when we get there."

He glanced around, flicked on the left turn signal, and floored it.

BANG!

VROOOM!

He launched the car, the deep growl of the 4-cylinder engine instantly screaming as the tachometer hit 5,000 rpm.

WHINE!

A second later, the turbo kicked in. The engine's combustion chamber pressurized, and the occupants were slammed back into their seats. The car surged forward again, rushing toward the Second Ring overpass ramp.

"AHHHH!"

The one-two punch of the lurching acceleration was both terrifying and thrilling for the two women.

With one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the gear stick, Xia Liang followed the real-time location provided by Xiao Qianxi, speeding along the empty Second Ring overpass.

BANG! He slammed it into second gear at 80 mph.

BANG! Third gear at 120 mph, then fourth at 160 mph.

Soon, the car's speed exceeded 200 mph. The rear wing pressed the chassis to the asphalt, keeping it stable, while the body kit channeled the wind, reducing drag.

His fluid control of the car was so impressive it only added to his damned, irresistible charm. The two women in the back had transitioned from panic to exhilaration, their eyes now fixed on him in awe.

According to the intel, the kidnappers hadn't taken the highway out of the city. Instead, they had turned around and were now heading to the other side of Shangjing City via the Third Ring Road.

Their movements are too professional for amateurs, Xia Liang thought. They must have switched vehicles by now. Otherwise, they'd never drive like this inside the city.

Xia Liang slowed, taking the ramp onto the outbound overpass and merging onto the Third Ring Road, hot on the target's tail. The five-lane expressway, wider than an international highway, was nearly empty outside of rush hour.

Driving like a man possessed, Xia Liang weaved through traffic at over 240 mph, changing lanes, merging, and overtaking slower cars.

"Holy shit! What kind of car was that? Did you see how fast it was going?" a driver exclaimed.

"Who cares about that idiot? He's asking for it! You just focus on driving and slow down!" his wife snapped. "You're already doing 110! If you get a speeding ticket, I'll be the one paying the fine!"

"Oh, okay, got it..."

Drivers on the road only caught a phantom-like blur streaking past, the reality of it confirmed only by the screaming roar of an engine that followed. Of course, Xia Liang couldn't care less what they were thinking.

The System's tracker showed the target had just exited the Third Ring and was heading toward the suburbs. The distance between them had closed to less than two kilometers. Xia Liang followed suit, exiting the ring road and turning onto the same street as the target vehicle.

Glancing over the median, Xia Liang saw that the oncoming lane was mostly clear. He swerved into the opposing lane, ignoring the traffic cameras overhead. This wasn't just for show; the road ahead, after the next intersection, had no streetlights. If he didn't stop them while they were waiting at the red light, the chase would become much more dangerous. They could even use Little Tangtang as a hostage to make him back off.

The red light had twenty seconds left. He had to get in front of their car and block them before it changed.

Two cars were in the oncoming lane, spread out over 300 meters. Even after slowing, the Jetta was still traveling at over 100 mph. Xia Liang flashed his right turn signal, signaling for the car ahead to move, while frantically honking the horn.

WHOOSH!

With a combined approach speed of 150 mph, the two cars passed within fifty centimeters of each other. The near-miss was even more harrowing than his high-speed overtakes moments before. The powerful draft buffeted the Jetta's compact frame, causing it to sway. In the back, the two women screamed, clutching each other in terror.

The Jetta reached the intersection. Xia Liang slammed the gearshift down to first.

VROOOOOM!

The engine roared as the tachometer shot to 10,000 rpm, the engine braking slowing the car dramatically. He flicked the steering wheel and wrenched up the handbrake.

SCREECH!

A spine-tingling shriek of tortured rubber filled the air. Half a second later, he released the handbrake and slammed his foot on the brake pedal. The car executed a perfect 270-degree clockwise spin.

CRUNCH!

The side of the Jetta gently collided with the front of the first car at the light. This wasn't a mistake. By parking sideways and relying on the friction of his tires, he knew their ordinary car wouldn't have the power to push him out of the way.

This car was the target. Surrounded on all sides by other vehicles, it was completely boxed in, with nowhere to run.

The car he had struck was an older model Volvo sedan. Its dark windows were tinted with such a thick film that it was impossible to see inside. The System, however, confirmed it: Little Tangtang was in that car.

Peering through the Volvo's front windshield, Xia Liang could clearly see four men dressed in black. In the middle of the back seat, a little girl was fast asleep.

"Little Tangtang! It's her! Brother Xia, Little Tangtang is right in there!" Tang Jie cried out, not needing any prompt. Separated from her niece by only two panes of glass, she could see everything. "Brother Xia, she's in there! Those monsters took her! Please, you have to save her! You have to!"

As if spurred by her desperate plea, the System's voice sounded in his mind.

[DING! Congratulations, Host, for triggering a new mission.]

[Mission: Rescue]

[Description: Save the budding flower from the clutches of evil men.]

[Reward: 40 Work Points, Gene Potion.]

Wen Qiong looked on, worried. "Brother Xia, maybe we should stop. There are so many of them. Let's just call the police and let them handle it."

From the moment she'd gotten in the car, Wen Qiong's nerves had been tested. Yet, her typically ditsy demeanor gave way to a strong will that quickly grasped their dire situation.

But was Xia Liang afraid of these people? Not anymore.

He had to save her. What kind of man says he can't?

"Alright, you two stay in the car. Don't get out," he ordered, his voice calm and firm. "Call the police. I'll handle this."

Ignoring their worried and doubtful expressions, Xia Liang confidently opened the door and stepped out.

From the Volvo, three large men got out, leaving the driver inside. Their tight black t-shirts strained to contain their bulging muscles. They were obviously trained fighters. They didn't even bother to grab weapons, clearly underestimating him.

With this level of skill, an expensive car, and such a professional operation, these guys could be making money in much easier ways, Xia Liang thought. This isn't just a simple kidnapping. There's something else going on here.

The three men said nothing. Recognizing that Xia Liang was trouble, they chose to attack immediately.
