From A Producer To A Global Superstar

Chapter 107: 90%

The moment the meeting ended, Dayo walked toward the studio area. Sitting there was someone very close to him, someone who had been part of his journey for a while now. He had a strange smile on his face, but he stayed calm, trying not to show how happy he was.

"Good morning, Mrs. Luna. I hope we didn't keep you waiting too long?" Dayo asked in the most professional tone he could manage.

Luna sat on the couch with a neutral expression. If anyone looked closer, they'd see the small smirk she was trying hard to hide. "Morning to you too," she said. "Not at all. I just got here not too long ago."

Dayo nodded, relieved. "Hmm, good. Valery, please—"

He turned around, only to see Valery and Wayne both red in the face, trying hard not to burst into laughter.

"Oh my God, Dayo," Valery said between giggles. "I never knew you were such a good actor. Ha-ha!"

That was it — she couldn't hold it anymore. She started laughing so hard that Wayne had to turn away to keep from joining in.

Dayo just stood there, blinking, then turned to Luna, who shrugged casually.

"Yeah," she said. "I told them."

Dayo sighed deeply and smiled. "Good. Now we can move past all of this."

His calmness caught everyone off guard. They had expected him to snap, or at least say something sharp. Instead, he looked completely unbothered.

Seeing their confused faces, Dayo chuckled. "What? You all look surprised."

He looked straight at Luna. "Hehe… I know you too well, Luna. I already guessed you'd do something like this. So I was kind of prepared."

Wayne laughed. "Ahh, how do you even cope with him, Luna? He's always five steps ahead of everyone."

Luna rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Honestly, I'm rethinking dating you."

"Heyyy," Dayo said quickly, pretending to panic. "Alright, fine! I'll act surprised next time. Happy now?"

"Hmph. You never let me win," Luna said, looking away like a sulking child.

"Alright, fine," Dayo said, smiling. "I'll let you win from now on."

She stayed silent, pretending not to hear him.

Dayo shook his head slightly and muttered under his breath, "Ah, such a big lady acting like a baby."

"Huh? Did you say something?" Luna turned to him with a glare.

"Ah— nothing," Dayo said quickly, raising his hands. "Please, let's go start the studio session before I get into trouble."

He knew how scary Luna could get when she was angry, so he didn't push his luck any further.

---

A week earlier, he had already sent her the songs to rehearse. She'd been practicing ever since, preparing for their joint track. Before giving her the song sheet, Dayo had used one of his system skills to check their compatibility.

It was a special ability he had — one he called Perfect Match.

This was the same skill he used back when he was choosing an artist for "Hall of Fame." That artist had also been Luna.

---

Perfect Match

Effect: Finds the most compatible artist for your song. Input the artist's name, and the system shows your compatibility percentage.

---

He had entered Luna's name and the song title into the system.

DING!

Skill: Perfect Feature

Song: Say Something

Artist: Luna

Compatibility: 90 %

It wasn't as high as their last collaboration, which had been a near-perfect 99 %, but 90 % was still incredible. He smiled when he saw it. Singing together again would not only make for a great song but also boost his overall stats. He had confirmed before that working with artists of higher skill improved his own level significantly.

It had happened before with Maya, who had an S+ in songwriting. The moment they co-wrote together, his writing improved drastically. This system worked in mysterious ways, but Dayo had learned to trust it.

Her singing had once been stuck at S+, but with Dayo's help, she broke that block and moved up to SS. She had been recording her own album lately, and most of her songs had been written or co-produced by Dayo himself. Because of that, she was improving fast — maybe faster than anyone else in the label.

He didn't mind. Helping others grow made him better too.

---

As they walked toward the recording booth, Luna tilted her head, studying him.

"So, you're really telling me you finished more than half your album in just one week?" she asked, her tone half amazed and half suspicious.

Dayo smiled calmly. "Yeah, give or take a few sleepless nights."

She blinked. "That's crazy, Dayo. Are you sure you're even human?"

He laughed softly. "That's what everyone keeps asking lately."

The hallway smelled faintly of coffee and studio polish. When they entered the main room, the speakers hummed quietly. Valery was standing beside the soundboard, flipping through her notes, while Wayne adjusted the mixer levels.

Luna placed her bag down beside the mic stand and crossed her arms. "You know," she said, "I've been in studios for years, but I've never seen someone record songs this fast and still keep the same quality. It doesn't even make sense."

Wayne looked up from the console. "Exactly! I've been producing for twelve years, and I swear this guy's bending time or something."

Valery chuckled, shaking her head. "You both talk too much. Maybe just accept that he's built different."

Dayo smirked, tilting his head. "I'll take that as a compliment."

Wayne sighed dramatically. "You better. Because if you keep this up, I might actually need a long vacation."

Luna laughed lightly. "Alright then, Mr. Built Different. Let's see if you can handle one more track."

"Bring it on," Dayo said, moving to the keyboard. "We'll start with the melody first, then vocals after lunch."

Valery gave him a thumbs-up. "Sounds good. Let's see how the magic happens this time."

The faint lights from the soundboard blinked softly, casting warm glows across the room. The hum of the speakers blended with soft laughter. Everyone looked relaxed but focused — it felt like they were standing at the start of something big.

---

As they set up, Luna walked over to him again. "You know," she said quietly, "every time I work with you, I learn something new. You just make it look too easy."

Dayo looked up at her and smiled. "It's not easy. I just… enjoy it. That's all."

She studied him for a few seconds, then nodded. "Maybe that's what makes you different. You still love what you do, even with all the pressure."

He shrugged. "That's what keeps me going."

Wayne tapped his shoulder from behind. "Alright, lovebirds, focus. The mic's ready, the sound's ready, and I need some sleep tonight."

Luna rolled her eyes. "Relax, old man."

Wayne pointed at her. "I heard that."

Everyone laughed. The laughter filled the room, light and genuine — the kind that only comes from people who actually enjoyed working together.
