A week later, Rayen and his teammates officially bade goodbye to their idle days. Their songs had been completely polished and passed back to them to decide the parts of each member — aside from the hard parts, which the others conceded for Rayen to sing.
'Damn these people…'
Feeling lazy to bother about this complicated matter, Adrian suggested a very ingenious and fun way to distribute the line parts — bottle spinning.
"....." Rayen was speechless.
So, they divided the total number of lines to nine to make sure that the distribution would be fair. And when they didn't like their part, they could just trade with the other members.
The others were also tired of arguing about it and just went along.
"Let's start."
After 15 minutes, the line distribution had been settled.
"Isn't it easy?" Adrian said, sprawling on the carpet.
Rayen's lips twitched.
…
With the line distribution now settled, they studied the song for a few days. Three days later, they went to the studio for the recording.
As soon as they opened the door…
"Welcome! Welcome!" A high pitched but pleasant voice greeted them.
One of the figures inside the room stood up and came to the front of the group, his coily blonde hair looking like ramen noodles. With hands on his chin, he observed each member.
The man with coily blonde hair stared at Rayen's eyes. Rayen tried to shift his gaze away in discomfort.
"I have nothing to compliment you. Next." The man walked off to the next person.
"....."
He stared at Xu Jiji, his tall figure towering over the little dancer despite already leaning down.
"Wow, you're so cute! What did your mother eat for you to look so small and cute?" The coily blonde grinned.
"....." Xu Jiji's cheeks puffed out in annoyance. "I'm not small! I grew a centimeter yesterday!"
Since he was able to earn a few MC these past few days, Xu Jiji was finally able to purchase a few batches of Vitamin T. He had indeed grown a few centimeters.
The man looked back at Xu Jiji. "Oh, congratulations~"
That didn't calm Xu Jiji at all, though.
But the man ignored him and walked to the next person — Xi Huan. Just like before, he observed Xi Huan for a few moments, his eyes landing on a specific part of her body.
"Wow, you're as flat as a board! You really did make a good choice on changing your perceived gender!"
Xi Huan blinked, unable to process his words for a second. But when the man walked away, she turned to look at Adrian. "Adidi, can I hit this guy?"
This was the first time the others had seen Xi Huan so incensed; there was literally a vein bulging on her forehead.
However, the man didn't seem to mind her words. He just went straight to Ren.
"I love your eyeliner! It really hides your eye bags!"
Then to Mr. Big News.
"So huge... But why is your head so small? It's so cute!"
Then to Adrian.
Adrian adjusted his eyeglasses to stare off against this man. The blonde's eyes swept Adrian's figure from head to toe, unwilling to lose.
Just as he was about to open his mouth to speak, his collar was suddenly tugged from behind, tightening it around his throat.
"J-Jejun!" The coily blonde held his collar, trying to loosen it. "I'm choking! Cough! Cough!"
However, the person choking him did not loosen his grip, and instead just dragged him back to his seat — literally.
"You can just reincarnate again if you die," the person said.
He smiled apologetically toward Rayen and his teammates.
"Jejun! Felix! You're here?" Yeo Haru pleasantly exclaimed.
Jejun, the man who forcefully dragged the blonde Felix, glanced at Yeo Haru, his apologetic expression thoroughly washed away. "You should address us as your seniors."
Yeo Haru scratched the back of his head and smiled bashedly. "Senior."
Jejun smiled back in satisfaction and sat down on his seat.
Rayen and the others also sat in the sofa. Xi Huan was still fuming at Felix, her hands rummaging through her sleeves while glaring sharply at him.
"... Why is she looking at me that way?" Felix muttered.
Jejun turned to him, his brows raised. "You're really asking that?"
"Why? Did I say something wrong again?"
'Again? Is this a daily occurrence for them?'
Rayen's thoughts were confirmed when Jejun sighed.
"I was complimenting her! I told her she made a great decision, didn't I?" Felix reasoned.
Jejun no longer bothered to explain to him. Instead, he turned to the members of SEEDZ.
"I'm Lee Jejun. This fool here is Son Felix. As you all know, we're from Immortals and also from I9's production team."
These two, Jejun and Felix, were obviously acquainted with Yeo Haru, since they're his sponsors, but today that relationship was non-existent with Jejun insisting the show was already over, and that they're juniors and seniors now.
Once Felix had calmed down, Jejun immediately went to business.
"Shall we start?" Jejun said, his voice as soothing as ever.
After much deliberation, the first to go to the recording booth was the Main Vocalist and the team's main producer — Rayen.
As Rayen put on the headphones and settled inside the booth, Jejun spoke to the mic.
"Then, please start." Jejun's soft voice sounded from the speakers.
Rayen nodded. The music played as well as the recording started. Immediately, Rayen's melodious voice traveled throughout the entire recording studio.
Felix's eyes beamed. "Wow, his voice is no joke! He's even better than our doggie!"
Their doggie was obviously Han Jeongwoon, Immortals' leader as well as their Main Vocalist.
However, Jejun suddenly hit the pause button.
Rayen stopped.
Jejun spoke to the mic. "Again."
"Um... why? What's wrong with my singing?"
"Your voice is too full, make it sound airy." Jejun's voice was soft, seemingly like a compassionate person.
Since it was a reasonable request, Rayen nodded and sang his part as he was instructed. The team listened wholeheartedly, absorbing every word that Jejun advised to Rayen.
Meanwhile, the corner of Felix's lips gradually turned up.
When the part came to the chorus, everything changed. This was the part that Rayen adjusted back then.
"I don't want to!!!"
Once again, Jejun hit the pause button. "Again!"
Rayen cleared his throat. "Okay."
He sang for the second time, yet Jejun wasn't satisfied.
"Again."
Rayen glanced out of the booth window, staring at the soft face of Jejun.
Still, he sang.
"I don't—"
"Again."
"I don't want—"
"Again. It doesn't sound shrill enough."
At this point, Rayen was already cursing in his mind.
'What compassionate person?! Even Adrian isn't this picky even when he's tripping against me!'
When Jejun noticed Rayen glaring, he asked in a soft voice: "What? Can't do it?"
