They should be the tribe's eldest and most respected Mountain Thorn Mountain Lord, Magnolia Bark Mountain Lord, and Fuzzy Flower Mountain Lord.
They gazed up at Dragon Cypress, sitting high on the throne, somewhat afraid.
One of them cautiously asked, "Dragon Cypress Ant King, do you need our help?"
Dragon Cypress lightly waved its tentacle, asking in return, "What's your name?"
Barley Bug Warrior: "Fuzzy Flower."
The other two Barley Bug Warriors volunteered:
"I'm Mountain Thorn."
"I'm Magnolia Bark."
Dragon Cypress: "Good. I've heard Wuye mention you before."
Dragon Cypress: "The White Poplar Ant King and Red Phellodendron Ant Queen are dead, the Termite Kingdom has been destroyed, and the war is over. Please go back and gather all the other warriors from the tribe, and meet under the Divine-Given Purple Tung Seed Tree."
Mountain Thorn, Magnolia Bark, and Fuzzy Flower, the three Mountain Lords, exchanged glances and agreed, leading their tribe members away in a hurry.
...
It was past midnight, and the full moon hung slanted in the western sky.
The Mountain Lord Level Barley Bug Warriors escorted the tribe's weaker warriors to the Divine-Given Purple Tung Seed Tree again.
Many of the high- and mid-level little warriors were still confused, woken suddenly in the middle of the night and told the Termite Kingdom was gone.
It felt just like a dream.
But what they saw along the way kept warning them—this was no dream.
At the same time, they were deeply worried and afraid. The Termite Kingdom might be gone, but now an even fiercer group of ants had come.
Spiked Cypress led the ant army, carrying the corpses of the White Poplar Ant King and the Red Phellodendron Ant Queen.
Ghost Fan and Spruce led the way at the front of the procession.
Ghost Fan, Mountain Persimmon, Blue Catalpa, and Snakebark Maple had stone chests loaded on their carapaces, and everyone hurried forward and called out.
"Dragon Cypress Ant King! We retrieved the corpses."
"Those soldier ants have almost all lost the will to fight, and there aren't many left. We killed them all in one go."
"We also found a treasury! It's got a lot of Origin Force Food stored up."
"These stone chests—there are 87 in total. Lots of Divine-Given Origin Force Food!"
"There's loads of Divine-Given Red Phellodendron Seed, 23 chests in all, Ghost Fan can eat their fill."
"And 21 chests of Divine-Given Purple Tung Seed, definitely produced by this Divine-Given Purple Tung Seed Tree."
"Good!"
Dragon Cypress lifted its claw in a gesture and said, "All captured Origin Force Food is booty. We'll divide it up together afterwards."
"White Rice—"
Dragon Cypress pointed to the high platform made of earth and stone under the Divine-Given Purple Tung Seed Tree.
White Rice understood and stepped forward, using their earth system "Soil Transformation" ability.
The earth system reinforcement ability left by the White Poplar Ant King on the stone platform was destroyed.
Dragon Cypress gently waved its tentacle.
Ink Orchid caught on, gathering wind element ability into their front legs, then swung their claw to slash.
The earth-stone high platform collapsed with a boom.
Dragon Cypress controlled the Dominating Throne, slowly floating off the ground to rest atop the rubble, waving its tentacle, raising its foreleg, its voice solemn, spirited, and with spiritual power, it declared to the anxious Barley Bug Warriors below:
"You are free!"
"No one can oppress or enslave the descendants of the Natural True God! No one!"
Blue Catalpa and Snakebark Maple helped, cooperating with the ant horde, using spider silk rope to string up the heads of the White Poplar Ant King, Red Phellodendron Ant Queen, and all the Assistant Kings, and hung them on the lower trunk of the Divine-Given Purple Tung Seed Tree.
Dragon Cypress pointed with its foot and said, "This is the result!"
Spiked Cypress raised its foreleg high, waving its tentacle in a cheer: "Great King, divine and mighty!"
Blue Catalpa and Snakebark Maple seized the moment and followed with:
"Dragon Cypress Ant King, righteous and great!"
"Dragon Cypress Ant King is the messenger of the Natural God in the Origin Force Star Realm!"
"We are the free descendants of the Natural True God!"
"The Natural True God is watching over us!"
These two little Sky Ox sure know how to kiss up ~ Ghost Fan, Spruce, White Rice, Black Rice, Mountain Persimmon followed by waving their tentacles and shouting.
The Barley Bug Warriors all understood Dragon Cypress's meaning and cheered in response.
When the cheering faded, Dragon Cypress held its foreleg level and signaled everyone to be quiet by waving its tentacle up and down, then said:
"The Termite colonies in the Central Region have been wiped out, but there are still remaining nests scattered across the Land of Origin Force that need to be purged quickly."
"White Willow, you lead the way, Spiked Cypress, take the mixed legion and sweep east."
"Yes!"
Spiked Cypress agreed crisply.
"Ink Orchid, lead the way, Giant Cypress, take the second legion and sweep north."
"Yes, Great King!"
Giant Cypress accepted the order.
"Spruce, you lead—Ghost Fan, Mountain Persimmon, White Rice, Black Rice, Mulberry, Snakebark Maple—you all move faster and clear out the remaining nests to the west and south."
"Got it!"
Spruce, Ghost Fan, and all the others replied.
"Cypress, you clean up the battlefield, carry the corpses, and gather them under the Divine-Given Purple Tung Seed Tree. There are still many wounded but salvageable soldier ants and blue soldiers—Mountain Lord level Barley Bug Warriors can use their powers to help heal. Any soldier ants or blue soldiers with broken legs, snapped tentacles, or torn carapaces, Blue Catalpa, help to take them back."
"Understood! Great King."
Blue Catalpa responded crisply.
Finally, something to do!
After a whole battle without once using their ability, Blue Catalpa was just worried the Dragon Cypress Ant King wouldn't give them any Divine-Grade Fruit.
Below, the Barley Bug Warriors echoed in agreement.
Cypress asked, "Great King, should we dig pits and bury the corpses under the tree?"
Dragon Cypress: "Of course."
Dragon Cypress waved its tentacle, signaling everyone to get to work.
After everyone left, Dragon Cypress called over Cypress and instructed them to hide the corpses of the Ant King, Ant Queen and all the Assistant Kings well—they had further use.
...
"Dragon Cypress Ant King!"
Wuye came forward with a little warrior just over twenty centimeters long, raising their head and looking at the Dominating Throne.
"This is the little warrior newly born to our tribe, Pueraria."
"Dragon Cypress Ant King—"
The little warrior named Pueraria greeted timidly.
"Cute little thing."
Dragon Cypress responded, leaping lightly to the ground and asked, "How old are you?"
Pueraria: "Three."
Dragon Cypress: "What age period?"
Pueraria: "First age period."
Wuye said, "Pueraria lives with me in the same mountain range, not far from my territory."
