Ant Lord in the Star Realm

Chapter 316 Black Yellow

At the foot of Cold Orchid Mountain lay the crash site of the Starship Treasury.

Dragon Cypress, with Black Cory, had once cleared the swampy mire and excavated the Treasury. At that time, the Starship's interior had an excessive accumulation of silt. Consequently, they had only searched the bottom layer, where treasures were most likely to be found. There, they discovered numerous Metal Cases and super-large Metal Cases.

Now that Dragon Cypress was strong enough and a bit strapped for cash, he planned to clear it out completely, hoping to find more valuables.

Years had passed, and the site had become a deep pool.

The Dominating Throne was moored by the shore.

Ink Orchid, looking at the somewhat darkened water surface, asked, "Dragon Cypress, are you sure you don't need to bring some Blue Soldiers over to help?"

"No need. In the time it would take to transport them here and back, I'll have cleared it myself."

Dragon Cypress leaped to the ground. He walked halfway around the deep pool, using his spiritual power to scan the terrain and select a suitable position.

He looked up at the sky, guessing it wouldn't rain in the next couple of days.

He looked down, his gaze and spiritual power locking onto the pool simultaneously as he activated his Water Control Ability.

A gigantic Water Sphere, with a diameter of about four meters, slowly separated from the water's surface. It hovered, moved horizontally, and then suddenly crashed onto a slope thirty to forty meters away from the pool. The sphere burst and its contents poured out with a loud CRASH.

The pool was only forty to fifty meters wide at the surface. After Dragon Cypress continuously extracted and tossed ten Water Spheres, its water level dropped significantly.

He returned to the Dominating Throne to rest briefly and recover his Origin Force, then went back to work.

Ink Orchid watched for a while. Seeing Dragon Cypress repeat the same monotonous action, it began to feel bored.

"Dragon Cypress, I can help you."

"How so?"

"You could turn the Water Spheres into ice spheres and toss them onto the shore. I can help move them then."

"That's a clever solution only a clever insect like you could devise. But no, thank you. You just rest."

"Sarcastic! Fine, keep at it yourself. I'm going up the mountain to look around."

Ink Orchid found a simple excuse, turned, and disappeared into the mountain forest.

Dragon Cypress focused on his work.

Suddenly, a fierce Origin Force Fluctuation erupted from the northeast slope of Cold Orchid Mountain.

Startled, Dragon Cypress looked up. He saw Ink Orchid skyrocketing, racing back, and then plummeting to land right beside the Dominating Throne.

"Dragon Cypress!"

"A Divine-Given Seed!"

"Huh?"

"I found another Divine-Given Seed!" Ink Orchid announced.

"Oh!"

"Come with me, quickly!"

"Oh—"

Ink Orchid kicked off the ground and flapped its wings, soaring straight up.

Dragon Cypress followed closely. Snapping out of his shock, he asked, "Ink Orchid, what plant is it? Is it a Divine-Given Seed that's flowering or already bearing fruit? Or is it a Wild God-Given Seed that has already taken root and sprouted?"

Ink Orchid replied, "Black Cory Grape! It has just sent out shoots; it hasn't even bloomed yet."

"Black Cory Grape?!"

"Ink Orchid, fly faster!" Dragon Cypress urged.

Ink Orchid led the way, stopping before a large patch of wild Black Cory Grapes on a gentle mountainside slope.

Years ago, while excavating the Treasury on Cold Orchid Mountain, Dragon Cypress and Black Cory had briefly tended to the Black Cory Grapes there. They had pruned this particular patch and cleared away competing plants from its surroundings.

It appeared to be thriving. Its main vine extended nearly twenty meters up the slope, with numerous offshoots and sub-vines.

Grape fruits grow in clusters, and their flowers also bloom in clusters of dozens.

Now, in the heart of spring, the entire vine was covered in flower buds, ready to blossom.

Dragon Cypress expanded his spiritual power, scanning back and forth, and quickly located one particular flower stem.

At the tip of this flower stem, only a single, small flower remained. It had developed recently, and its Origin Force fluctuations were so weak they were almost imperceptible.

Even this could be found? Dragon Cypress silently admired the find.

"Dragon Cypress, do you see it?" Ink Orchid asked, pointing with a claw.

Dragon Cypress said, "...I see it."

Ink Orchid declared, "I'll stay here! You go back to Xianglan Mountain and bring ants to help!"

Dragon Cypress agreed, "Alright!"

After some thought, Dragon Cypress said, "Black Cory (the ant) isn't busy. Its command ability is more comprehensive, and it's familiar with the situation on Cold Orchid Mountain. I'll go get it."

Ink Orchid said, "Alright—"

Then it mused, "Something feels off. Having two Black Corys feels weird."

Ink Orchid raised a claw, pointing to the budding Divine-Given Seed flower of the Black Cory Grape plant. "Should we change a name? Or how about changing the ant Black Cory's name? What if you changed its name to White Teasel? It would pair nicely with White Willow."

Dragon Cypress was silent.

He then replied seriously, "Having two Black Corys is indeed a bit confusing when addressing them."

After thinking it over, Dragon Cypress said, "Let's rename this upcoming Divine-Given Seed. It shall be called White Teasel."

"'White Teasel' doesn't sound good!" Ink Orchid disagreed. After pondering, it said, "Dragon Cypress, look, its flower is a bit yellowish, and its fruit will be black. How about naming it 'Black Yellow Grape'? Its name could be 'Black Yellow'."

Dragon Cypress conceded, "...That's pretty good."

Not dwelling on it further, Dragon Cypress descended the mountain. He moved the Dominating Throne closer and commanded the accompanying medium and small-sized Worker Ants to climb the vine and prune all the ordinary grape flowers.

A large vine like this, nurturing a single Divine-Given Seed, would certainly have enough nutrients.

Simply clearing the surrounding weeds would be sufficient; no further management was needed.

Ink Orchid stayed behind to guard.

Dragon Cypress steered the Dominating Throne and set off.

First, he returned to Xianglan Mountain to inform Round Cypress, Spiked Cypress, and Giant Cypress of the news.

He took one each of Mountain Lord Level Specialized Blue Soldiers, Specialized Soldier Ants, Specialized Worker Ants, and Specialized Blue Ants, along with several other small ants.

Without much rest, he then hurried to Black Lotus Lake.

「Twilight.」

Black Cory was directing Worker Ants and Blue Soldiers in their work, while White Willow was also flying about, helping.

On the eastern side of the lake, they were digging soil from the deep-water bank and using it as fill. Their goal was to transform the lakeshore into a gently sloping, shallow-water area.

Then, they would plant Azure Trees along the shore.

Dragon Cypress was purchasing ordinary Azure Fruits at the high price of one Source Stone per hundred.

Black Cory and White Willow planned to transform the lake and riverbanks, utilizing every suitable spot for planting Azure Trees.

"Dragon Cypress Ant King—" White Willow approached, not looking very pleased. For the Dragon Cypress Ant King to visit Black Lotus Lake at this time of year meant he was undoubtedly looking for Black Cory for a task.

And indeed, Dragon Cypress, looking hurried, said directly, "Put the work at Black Lotus Lake on hold for now. Black Cory, come with me to Cold Orchid Mountain, where we last dug for treasure..."

「Cold Orchid Mountain, northeast slope.」

The Dominating Throne landed directly.

"Dragon Cypress," Ink Orchid, who was guarding under the grape vine, stood up.

After a brief greeting, Dragon Cypress lowered a wooden plank, and Black Cory led the ant colony off the Throne.

"Ink Orchid, you keep guard here. I've brought some Source Stones. Use them as you see fit; don't be stingy."

"Black Cory, the old Ant Nest is unusable. First, direct the Worker Ants to that steep slope over there and have them dig a temporary shelter."

"Okay," Black Cory agreed.

"Understood," Ink Orchid replied.

Dragon Cypress made another trip back to Xianglan Mountain. He then transported a large number of High-Level Stage nurtured Worker Ants, Soldier Ants, and Blue Ants to Cold Orchid Mountain.

Dragon Cypress personally led the troops up and down the mountain and through the deep forest. They thoroughly searched the entire area within the Land of Origin Force. He ordered the elimination of any animals that could potentially harm the Divine-Given Seed, neutralizing threats before they could materialize.

By the time Dragon Cypress finished his tasks, Black Cory had also successfully directed the ant colony in digging the temporary Ant Nest.

The Worker Ants and Blue Ants settled in.

The Divine-Given Flower bloomed. After the flower faded, it bore a somewhat misshapen, greenish grape, faintly emitting an Origin Force aura.

Soldier Ants took turns leaving the Ant Nest to patrol around the grape vine.

Ink Orchid and Black Cory guarded under the vine around the clock.

Later, it rained heavily.

The pool filled up once more. Dragon Cypress had to start over, using his Water Control Ability to drain it again.
