The Martial Unity

Chapter 3596: Shaking World

The very moment the female tekvore uttered those words, the world began quivering.

RUMBLE…

The crowd of journalists staggered unsteadily as tremors began passing through the ground. The air began growing unsettling as a faint sense of danger hung in the atmosphere. Emperor Rael's golden eyes remained fixed on the woman he was looking at, trying to gauge any information that he could get his hands on when gazing into her cybernetic eyes.

"Your Majesty!" The Martial Sages around him drew closer protectively with grim expressions. "We sense danger approaching the Kandrian Empire. It is not safe here; you must get to a secure location immediately!"

The Emperor of Harmony knew that they were right. It wasn't the best look to withdraw from a press conference abruptly in a panicked fear, so he decided to take a moment to bring about a sense of finality to the event.

"I have been informed that danger may soon besiege the Kandrian Empire and perhaps even this location," he boldly revealed to the journalists. "The press conference is concluded. Get to safety immediately. The Kandrian Empire will protect you no matter what."

He immediately turned around, nodding to his Martial Sages. "Let's go."

WHOOSH

They disappeared as the Martial Sages transported the Emperor of Harmony away from the public at high speed.

RUMBLE…

The quaking tremors continued as the air grew even more dangerous despite the bright light of the morning sun illuminating the entire world on a pleasant morning.

"Get to safety!"

"We need to get out of here as soon as possible!"

"Damn, we shouldn't have come to this continent at such a perilous time. Who knew that a world war could break out on such short notice!"

Many people in the international press immediately began panicking and escaping, packing up their equipment as soon as possible and departing from the region immediately as the Martial Artists began implementing the evacuation order in accordance with the Emperor of Harmony's will.

The many elves, therianthropes, dwarves, evosapiens, and all manner of hybrids in between began escaping, only to frown at the composed behavior of the citizens of the Kandrian Empire.

"Aren't they too calm?" one dark elf muttered as she studied the relaxed behavior of the people of Kandria. "The world is shaking, you know? Doesn't that mean that the seismic inhibitors are failing and something truly severe is happening? Are they just accustomed to tremors for some reason?"

Many of the domestic population of the Kandrian Empire were less worried compared to the international presences, whether it was beyond the Kandrian Empire or even beyond the Panama Continent. Kandrian pedestrians continued walking down the streets without even an ounce of concern, while people went about their business and their jobs without too much of a problem.

"These people are mad." One evosapien shook his head. "This is a race evolved for violence, after all. Don't even bother trying to get into their minds. Let's just evacuate from here as soon as possible."

RUMBLE…

Their words weren't too far from the truth, but in reality, the people of the Kandrian Empire had simply gotten used to… 'turbulence' over the past eighteen years in the Age of Darkness.

The Beast Incursion frequently sent seismic radiation that shook the grounds, causing the citizens of the Kandrian Empire to grow more accustomed to it over time and become immune to it.

They had a powerful confidence in their empire and its monarch, and great faith in their warriors that had protected there steadily for nearly two decades from a powerful surge of rampaging beasts and monsters.

Meanwhile, Emperor Rael quickly got to his secured military base, the location of which was entirely secret. He took a seat at his office, as he immediately began skimming through the intelligence reports that had been flooding his commpad.

[A large fleet of ships and aircrafts emerging from the Continent of Acherialis is heading towards the Kandrian Empire at high speed.]

[Fleet size is estimated to be in the hundreds, with more ships inbound for the Kandrian Empire from further afar.]

[Nearly a hundred submarines were detected at a depth of one kilometer beneath the surface of the water.]

[Preliminary analysis from the attack suggests that the displacement of the aquatic fauna with high threat levels formerly within the Great Nam Ocean and presently in the Great Void Ocean is the reason for the impending attack. Further analysis suggests that this attack is likely retaliation for the attacks conducted by Prince Rui in the Great Void Ocean against all non-allied parties, including Greater Tekvoria. Another estimated objective is to redirect resources away from the Great Void Ocean, reducing mining yields.]

The Emperor of Harmony found himself agreeing with the preliminary analysis of the analyst team, although he was able to glean even more insights as to why NOVA had chosen to act this way.

"She's breaking the inertia of peace and trying to encourage others to follow in her suit."

It was not easy being the first nation to break the peace and declare war. If things went south, that nation would go down in history as the culprit for a world war and would bear international condemnation for ages to come. No nation, even if it were willing to wage war, wanted to fire the first shots because of the responsibility and blame that came with it.

NOVA was keenly aware of this inertial reluctance and had chosen to go all out with an attack mounted on the Kandrian Empire of all places to completely shatter that inertia. Once the other anti-Panamanian blocs in the world saw an entire continent waging all-out war with Panama, they would have fewer compunctions in commencing a serious effort.

"By launching an extraordinarily belligerent and vicious invasion into the Kandrian Empire, she's trying to deter the nations that are considering my offer." Emperor Rael's expression grew grim. "It was a good move."

How many nations would eagerly jump into an alliance with the Panama Continent after seeing Greater Tekvoria going into what appeared to be an all-out war footing?

"If I'm not careful… we will lose this war." The Emperor of Harmony realized with a serious expression. "Get me the Grand Admiral and Grand Generals on the line. Get me the Director of the Martial Union as well. And also…"

His golden eyes sharpened.

"Get me Prime Minister Edward."
