Syl stared, poker-faced. "This is humiliating."
Meanwhile, Amon was flying the plane that held her provisions. As the place approached her mouth,
"Open up. Come on, I'm running out of ways to feed you."
She pressed her lips together defiantly. "I'm not so hungry anymore."
"I see." Amon nodded. "With food out of the way, think I could cop of feel?"
"What?" Syl frowned and his hand started moving towards her tit. "Wai-"
She opened her mouth to protest, and the meat was shoved into her without her consent.
"It's good, isn't it?"
Syl chewed without answering, frowning as she did so.
Gulp. She swallowed.
"You can thank Akane for food." Amon said.
Syl's gaze moved towards the Fox girl who was seated in front of the fire. She stared at the Fox girl for a bit before looking away.
"She's freaking rude!" Akane shouted, pointing at the female Hobgoblin.
"What are you gonna do?" Amon shrugged. "The proud warrior is now being hand-fed. Life is tough sometimes."
"She could be nicer about it! I went through the trouble to bring food for everyone and the trouble of preparing it!"
"And I thank you for it very much."
"Doing it for you isn't an issue! She's the problem here!"
"Yeah, I guess she is acting like a baby."
"A huge baby!"
Unable to bear the slander for any longer, Syl's lips parted and, before she could say a word, a piece of fruit was shoved into her mouth.
"Maybe we should just leave her here." Akane muttered, her gaze going back to the fire. "She never fed me more than scraps, you know?"
"Hm…" Amon brought another piece of meat to Syl's mouth.
She opened her mouth to eat, but Amon moved it an inch further.
Syl moved forward, following the food, but it got further away.
She frowned at Amon and he shrugged.
"I couldn't feed you more than scraps without looking suspicious to the others." Syl muttered. "I went to help you once, and look where it got me."
"Right." Akane nodded with a sarcastic chuckle.
"I don't see what you're so bitter about." Syl sighed. "I came back to help you once I had the key. What more do you want from me?"
Amon brought the piece of meat to his own mouth. He wanted both of them by his side, which meant that they would be side by side. Any issues needed to be resolved quickly, before more trouble came their way.
Of course, with Syl having admitted that bringing the Werebeasts into it was her idea, working through that would take a lot. Still, they didn't need to delve into that just yet.
"Uh, how about an apology first, and an explanation second?"
Syl's gaze darted from Akane, to the fire, to Amon, back to the fire, and then back to Akane.
She gulped, and looked away. "I have nothing to apologize for."
Akane's ears twitched, her tail puffing out. She slammed the bone she'd been munching on into the dirt. "You have nothing to apologize for?"
Syl met her glare without flinching. "Nothing." She said, unyielding.
"You gave me to Humans who had foul intentions!"
"The others gave you to them. I killed the Humans before they could touch you."
"You kept me gagged and starved!"
"Because you wouldn't shut up and the others threatened to beat you up. I gave you scraps when no one was looking though."
"You put me in a cage!"
"There really was no way for me to stop them from putting you in a cage."
"You gave me to Goblins!"
"And I came to get you out as soon as I could. As soon as I got the keys to the cage. They didn't touch you. I have a clear conscience.I even helped you, so..."
"Helped me? You think that coming with the key once all the danger was gone is helping? You had days to help, but you waited until all of the danger was gone!"
"All of the danger was gone?" Syl frowned.
"Yes! The Goblins were gone, your friends were gone, word that you had gotten me out would have never reached anyone! You waited until it was completely 100% safe for you before helping!"
'She's not completely wrong.' Amon thought while eating a piece of fruit.
"Was I supposed to endanger myself for a goody two-shoes like you?" Syl muttered with narrow, arrogant eyes.
"Goody two-shoes?" Akane frowned.
"Yes, goody two-shoes." A tinge of anger could be felt in Syl's usually calm. "When they told me it was a woman we were to bring to the Goblins, my heart actually broke. I thought I would find her broken, bleeding, with an arm missing. I thought I would find her beaten beyond belief and forced into submission. Little do I know, she's completely unharmed. Not only that, but she came willingly."
Amon listened carefully.
"Willingly? I was put in a cage and-"
"Yeah, yeah. That was after! They brought you from the Werebeast Village to ours without using force, or cuffs, or anything! You just willingly gave yourself."
"I didn't know what I was being brought to! I didn't know I was going to be tossed to damned Goblins!"
"Oh, yeah? What did you think, you were going to be tossed to Hobgoblins?"
"What the hell did you want me to think? The Hobgoblins had female warriors!"
"Oh, really. You thought the Hobgoblin Chief wanted you so you could fight for us? Aren't you awfully clever? You showed no signs of strength before, so you couldn't have been chosen based on that. As if Hobgoblins care about strength when it comes from a female in the first place." She sighed. "You're in the position you're in because you were stupid enough to let yourself be discarded."
"Is that so?" Akane's eyes narrowed. "If the Hobgoblins weren't threatening to wage war against us, if you weren't threatening to make your Demons descend upon us, I wouldn't have had to give myself up to protect the village."
The words immediately froze Syl. To be precise, it wasn't exactly Akane's words that had frozen her.
It was Amon.
His gaze, previously carefree, was now cold as ice and threatening to the point that Syl felt her life was in danger.
"...!
Her lips quivered. He hadn't moved at all, but she could tell that it would only take a moment for him to end her.
