"You already know, don't you? First, handle the ominous matters."
Dealing with matters related to the ominous.
Mohe nodded: "Alright then, let's go!"
On such an ordinary night, the Unique King and the Demon King both vanished from this world.
When people realized this, it was Lisidorwei who stepped forward. She had a letter left by Doro, and on her head was the crown that Mohe had given to Doro—a crown capable of ruling over all the races in the world.
"I will temporarily take the regency."
Like this, the declaration was made for the forthcoming major events.
Open and secret struggles truly began from this moment forward.
…
"Mr. Doro, is this your first time beyond the world?"
Upon hearing Mohe's words, Doro turned back to look at his own world. He found himself at a loss for words to describe the world's bizarre shapes; to some extent, he couldn't even believe this was the world in which he lived—it wasn't beautiful at all.
And outside this world, massive, pitch-black tentacle monsters seemed to constantly seek to invade the world, yet were blocked by the barrier outside.
"Even for us, it would take years to clean up the ominous completely. Moreover, these things won't vanish entirely. Where there is death, there is a curse. In a sense, the two are equivalent. They are terms opposed to life, yet they also affirm life's vibrancy and tenacity." Mohe looked at these ominous things. She, capable of manipulating these things to some extent, wasn't truly inclined to eradicate them completely. Such a shame!
Doro, observing the immense creatures outside the world, nodded: "Still, even though it's quite troublesome, we should deal with it. In our future eternal lives, it's only natural that we regularly clean these things up. This should count as a task that only we can accomplish."
"Oh~ you're quite enthusiastic..."
Mohe seemed to suddenly remember something: "Speaking of, Mr. Doro, do you recall the events of ten years ago?"
"What events?"
"You lost your temper in the Elf Kingdom and killed the Elf Queen. Before the Elf Queen's death, she sent many great Element Masters into the endless void to search for the Goddess, hoping to have the Goddess confront me. However, back then, I believed the Goddess was still alive, so I wanted them to probe. As it turned out...
I think they might be among those tentacles, potentially consumed by the ominous if they couldn't withstand it. If they were resilient enough, they might still survive in the void."
Doro remembered. Controlled by anger back then, he brutally killed the Elf Queen, causing the Elf Race to flee in disarray. Those elves perhaps perished during their journey through the void.
"What do you mean by telling me this?"
"Anyway, we're quite idle, aren't we? Why not try to find those people? If they've disappeared completely, then so be it. But if we find them, wouldn't it be interesting to see if they've undergone some sort of change from the looming threat?"
Doro nodded: "You make a fair point."
Thus, they didn't deal with the ominous immediately and instead stepped onto it in search of traces of the former Elf Race.
This process took a whole year, during which they indeed found them deep within the ominous.
By this time, these elves could no longer be called Forest Elves. Mohe referred to them as "Dark Elves."
Engulfed by the ominous and struggling within it, these elves eventually coexisted with it. The Elf Mother Tree blossomed with new life within the ominous, altering the attributes of these beings.
"This is truly surprising."
The Dark Elves knelt before Doro and Mohe.
Even though they had become Dark Elves, they still remembered how effortlessly Doro had destroyed the Elf Mother Tree and annihilated the Land of the Ancestors, killing the Elf Queen. Despite now coexisting with the ominous, dealing with the ominous for Doro and Mohe only consumed time.
Now that Doro and Mohe had come together, the Dark Elves couldn't think of anything else except inviting their own demise.
However, in reality, Doro and Mohe had no intention of harming them. Though Doro had been furious at the time, the eventual outcome was that Mohe resurrected the Elf. Despite other Snow Elves' hatred remaining uncleaned, Doro couldn't replace the Snow Elves in forgiving the Forest Elves—but perhaps...
Just as Doro has now abandoned his power, allowing his children to struggle among themselves, so too might be the relationship between Forest Elves and Snow Elves. One side won, while the other lost.
At this point, he harbored no resentment against the Forest Elves, especially since they had become so-called Dark Elves.
In fact, the blackness of their skin seemed to possess a certain allure…
"Do you plan to return to the surface?"
Mohe suddenly posed this question: "The surface is now unified. Returning means adhering to the commands of the Unique Kingdom."
The Dark Elves were unaware of events on the surface, and Mohe seemed interested in discussing these happenings with them, spending one and a half or two weeks doing so.
Afterward, the Dark Elves made their decision.
Previously, they didn't dare return due to Doro's presence. With him no longer pursuing the matter, they naturally intended to return. Their coexistence with the ominous had polluted them; continuing such a state might transform them into monsters. In their current state, they had gained special abilities while retaining elven features.
Once the Dark Elves decided, they left the ominous within a day, aided by Doro and Mohe in extracting the Elf Mother Tree from the malign influence to be planted back on the surface.
This might not be a good thing.
The curse-tainted race might eventually be harmed by the curse or perhaps bring disaster to the world.
But it doesn't matter; Doro and Mohe both know that there isn't a problem they can't solve.
So, it doesn't matter.
"I'm gradually becoming a bit like you."
After watching the Dark Elves leave, Doro suddenly spoke to Mohe: "I seem to gradually understand how you feel."
"You're not even fifty, Mr. Doro. If you speak of such things, I hope it's after you're fifty thousand." Mohe replied, "You simply briefly find some matters uninteresting and also feel a sense of powerlessness about yourself—despite possessing the world's most potent violence, there exist matters beyond control. Even when wishing happiness and harmony for all lives, life isn't perfect. Even creating life, thinking of the angels made by the Goddess, it feels like a tragic disaster. You are bemused by your place, like when I encountered you again then."
"Ah... I was indeed quite disheartened then; I don't want to recall it."
"Yes, that time, Mr. Doro, you used to daily speak of Snow Elves as fair-skinned, beautiful, with long legs, yet even now, you've made no move towards Miss Elf, why is that?"
Doro chuckled: "Because she is noble and great."
"You are truly..."
Mohe gazed at Doro helplessly: "Then again, you indeed differ from before."
"How do I differ? I feel perpetually lost."
Mohe leaned on Doro and suddenly said: "Because now I am by your side, back then, my mind only contained thoughts of killing you."
"Now? Don't you wish to kill me?"
"Of course, I do. However, things are different now."
"How are they different?"
"I don't know," Mohe said. "It needs more observation, study, and exploration."
