Divine Awakening: My Game Drops Increase Infinitely

Chapter 111 : World Event (1)

After killing the commander, Axton's system notifications started popping up one after another.

Axton smiled as he checked his new stats. With the experience he already had plus this victory, he leveled up three more times and earned 15 free stat points. He quickly distributed the free stats among his parameters.

After that, he opened his summon list and leveled up his clone and summons — including his newest one, Vorlic the Undying. The Undead General's dark energy became stronger. His armor looked darker and sharper.

"Good," Axton said quietly.

He closed the status window and kept walking deeper into the ruins of the old city. The cracked stones under his feet reminded him of ancient times. The air smelled like rust and ash. Everything was silent — too silent — except for a faint hum of magic that floated in the air like invisible sparks.

Soon, he reached a large circular area. Strange glowing symbols covered the ground, but a thick layer of black mist hid most of them. The mist seemed alive, twisting and moving as if it was watching him. Even though the fog covered everything, a strange light leaked out from under the symbols.

Axton crouched down and looked closely. He carefully stepped forward and placed his boot on one of the markings.

Bzzzt!

The entire circle suddenly lit up with blinding light. A massive system panel appeared above the ground.

[You have found the Old City — Anarnia]

[An ancient civilization from centuries ago.]

[Do you wish to enter?]

[Yes / No]

Axton blinked in surprise. "Anarnia?" he read out loud, frowning. He had never heard that name before. It wasn't in any document, quest log, or map he had ever seen.

"Was this the old name before Atlas was built?" he whispered to himself. "Or is it something completely different?"

He stood still for a moment, looking at the symbols and thinking. Nobody had ever mentioned a place like this. If this really was an ancient city, it might have something big inside—rare knowledge, powerful items, or even a hidden dungeon.

"Yes."

That single word cut through the air. The runes under Axton's feet started glowing brighter, and the ground shook. A crack of light opened in front of him, stretching upward until it broke through the black mist. The light twisted and turned, forming a glowing pathway that seemed to go on forever.

Axton took a deep breath. His instincts told him this was dangerous but also exciting.

"Fine," he said. "Let's see what you're hiding."

He stepped into the light.

[You have entered the Ancient City of Anarnia]

The moment he crossed through, everything changed.

The black mist swallowed him completely and then the system's voice boomed across the entire world of New Eden.

Axton didn't know it yet, but what he had just done was not normal. He had triggered something nobody had ever seen before.

A World Event.

And with it came the World Announcement.

[Ding!]

[World Announcement]

[Player Khan has opened a World Event!]

[World Dungeon: Anarnia]

[All players will now receive the location of the nearest transportation portal.]

[The World Event is open to all players who wish to participate. Rewards will be given based on contribution score.]

[However, only players at Level 15 and above can participate.]

For a moment, the entire world froze.

Every player in New Eden no matter their level, faction, or guild stopped what they were doing. They all stared at the message floating in front of their eyes.

There was silence. Then, complete chaos.

World Chat exploded like a bomb.

"What? A World Event?!"

"This is the first one in the whole game!"

"Player Khan… wait, isn't that the Mayor of Atlas?!"

"No way! He actually triggered a world event?!"

"I'm going! I don't care what it takes!"

Messages flooded in faster than the system could handle. Entire servers lagged for several seconds as millions of players shouted, asked questions, and started preparing all at once.

This wasn't just excitement, it was pure madness.

For players, this was way more than just a dungeon. This was history being made right now. A World Event meant rare rewards, legendary weapons, unique classes, and possibly, special titles that could change everything for a player.

Even players who had only just reached Level 15 rushed to get ready. Nobody wanted to miss this chance. Guild leaders started shouting orders in their chat rooms. Party leaders called their teams together. Merchants in the marketplaces doubled their prices.

Everywhere across New Eden, teleportation circles lit up with bright light.

Players grabbed their weapons and potions and headed toward the nearest transportation portal that had just appeared on their maps.

"Move! Move! We can't miss this!"

"Form your squads! Don't go alone!"

"I heard rewards depend on how much you contribute! Don't slack off!"

In the real world, streamers started broadcasting live. Gaming forums exploded with new posts. Analysts tried to guess what the event would be — a raid? A war? A new area to explore?

Nobody knew for sure.

But one thing was clear. Every single player wanted in.

However, there was one huge problem.

The World Event entrance was located in Atlas City and the Mayor of Atlas City was Axton, the exact same person who triggered the event.

With his authority as Mayor, he could control who was allowed to enter and who wasn't, just like he had done with Kiran's request previously.

When players realized this, it hit them like a truck. The chat that had been full of cheers suddenly changed tone.

"Wait… doesn't that mean we need his permission to enter?"

"Unfortunately, we do. Tch!"

"Damn it! That's not fair!"

"He could block everyone if he wants to!"

"He wouldn't do that… would he?"

"He rejected my request to enter yesterday. He's crazy."

"Me and my guild got slapped with the rejected response too."

"Nay, bro. I don't care but I need to be in this World Event."

Some players got worried. Others got angry. A few tried to teleport into Atlas immediately

The world event had just started, but the real challenge might be just getting inside.
