With a deep breath, he decided to check his progress. A faint shimmer appeared before his eyes as the Divine Platform responded to his thought.
[Divine Spark: 67%]
Max's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at the number. "Only sixty-seven percent…" he murmured. It was a significant increase from before, yet he couldn't help but feel a faint sense of dissatisfaction.
He knew from the information that had been imprinted in his mind that Divine Spark was not something that could be easily obtained, even within a place as miraculous as this.
Still, the number raised questions that he couldn't ignore. He leaned back slightly, his gaze unfocused as he pondered deeply.
'What exactly is this Divine Spark?' he wondered. 'I understand what it represents—the qualification to surpass the mortal realm—but what is its true nature? What is it made of?'
The information given to them had explained the concept of Divine Spark in broad strokes. It was the essence of divinity, the core of transcendence. But the explanation was incomplete. It said nothing about its origin, nor about how it could be accumulated outside of the Divine Platform.
Max's thoughts grew heavier. 'Is this energy unique to the Divine Platform? If so, does that mean that once the secret domain closes, no one will be able to gather more Divine Spark again?'
The idea unsettled him. If the Divine Spark could only be gathered here, then the number each genius accumulated before leaving the secret domain would determine their limit for the rest of their lives.
They could cultivate endlessly, refine their power for eternity, and yet, without a full Divine Spark, they would never break through the Divine Rank. They would remain trapped forever in the mortal coil.
That possibility alone made this trial far more terrifying than any battle or tribulation he had faced.
Max glanced around at the other domes faintly visible in the distance. He could sense the presence of other geniuses, their auras flaring with energy as they cultivated.
He knew that most of them would likely end up within the same range of Divine Spark as him—somewhere between sixty and seventy percent—by the time the trial ended. Only a rare few, perhaps one or two among the thousands, might reach above eighty percent.
And yet, even that would not be enough.
'A hundred percent Divine Spark,' he thought, frowning slightly. 'That's the requirement for breaking past the Divine Rank and entering the Divine Realm. But if even here, with endless Divine Essence flowing freely, we can't reach that number, then how are we supposed to complete it in our own worlds?'
His thoughts turned cautious. There was no mention in the information they had received about how to gather Divine Spark after leaving the Divine Platform. There was nothing about its source, its cultivation methods, or any process to increase it beyond what they gained here.
The more he thought about it, the more it felt deliberate, as if whoever created this place wanted to withhold that knowledge intentionally.
Max rested his hand on his knee and exhaled softly, golden mist leaving his lips. "It's too perfect," he said quietly. "Too controlled."
The Divine Platform provided them with power, granted them divine essence, and even offered enlightenment about the Divine Spark. But it never explained the full picture. It guided them forward while leaving a void of uncertainty—one that even Max couldn't fill.
He raised his gaze toward the golden mist swirling high above the dome. It glowed faintly, filled with endless Divine Essence, and yet somewhere within that light, Max sensed a trace of something else—a presence that wasn't part of the platform's natural energy.
'Divine Spark,' he thought again. 'Where are you coming from?'
The question lingered in his mind. If the Divine Spark truly came from this platform, then it meant that the Seven Divine Lords who had created the Heavenly Lord Secret Domain had found a way to extract and refine this mysterious energy. That alone was frightening.
Max's hand clenched slightly. He knew what it meant. It meant that the Divine Lords had knowledge that even the most powerful gods of the outer universe might not possess.
For now, there were no answers—only more questions.
But one thing was certain. The Divine Spark was not something they could easily replicate outside this place. The Divine Platform was a divine mechanism that didn't belong to the mortal world. Once it vanished, the opportunity to obtain Divine Spark might vanish with it.
Max closed his eyes again, his heart calm despite the thoughts swirling through his mind. 'It doesn't matter,' he decided. 'I will try to gather all 100% Divine Spark right here and now.'
He steadied his breathing and once again began drawing in the golden essence from the platform. The Divine Spark within him flickered faintly, and the golden light around his body brightened once more.
Now that Max understood the uncertainty surrounding the Divine Spark, he stopped dwelling on questions that had no answers. His focus shifted entirely to what he could control—the Divine Essence that continued to pour into his body like a never-ending golden river.
Closing his eyes, he calmed his breathing and allowed the Three Dimensional Body to fully activate. His perception expanded in all directions, covering every layer of the essence surrounding him.
He examined it closely, breaking it down into its tiniest details. Each strand of Divine Essence was luminous, vibrant, and filled with vitality. Within it, he could sense the rhythm of the world, the pulse of creation, and the faint trace of something deeper—something he was certain was the Divine Spark.
Yet no matter how many times he scanned, analyzed, or circulated his energy, he could not find it. It was invisible to every sense he possessed, even the perception of his divine soul.
He frowned slightly, frustration flickering across his face. "It's here," he muttered under his breath, "but it refuses to reveal itself."
The Divine Spark was like a shadow hidden within the light—present but intangible, real yet untouchable. It fused seamlessly with the Divine Essence, making it impossible to isolate or extract. The Three Dimensional Body, which could normally dissect anything down to its atomic level, failed to trace even a single thread of its existence.
Max exhaled slowly, his expression returning to calm. "Fine," he said softly. "If I can't find it directly, then I'll force it to show itself."
