Then he was stunned for a moment before reacting, "Oh, a chance encounter in the wild?"
"You finally got it," Qu Jianlei rolled his eyes, "Seeing those two really made me shiver."
"Shiver? No problem," Bentley pulled off his hood and grinned at him, "Next, I'll be training you."
"You're training me?" Qu Jianlei was a bit confused, "Why does it feel like..."
"You don't need to feel; only I need to feel," Bentley said lightly, but his words were incredibly domineering.
Qu Jianlei looked at him defiantly, "Do you think... you can really beat me?"
It's essential to establish authority within the team, and he also wanted to measure how powerful the Ultimate Warrior could be.
"I need to fight you, really?" Bentley shook his head with a smile, "There are top students, but not top instructors."
This is the Blue Star saying, "Only champion pupils, no champion teachers."
Qu Jianlei realized that the other party wasn't lacking the courage to fight him, he just felt that fighting was pointless.
Of course, once defeated, it would definitely damage one's reputation.
So after thinking about it, he asked, "What can you teach me?"
"Maybe you have some of your own stuff," Bentley replied casually, not wanting to delve into the other's secrets.
But he also made it clear, "However, what you've inherited isn't systematic enough, I have Attribute Cultivation methods."
Qu Jianlei decisively accepted defeat, "Old Ben, do I need to become your disciple?"
Willing to admit when he's wrong; some things can't be helped, he's proud but not arrogant to the point of being blind.
"Become my disciple..." Bentley's eyes were a bit dazed, then he shook his head, "No need, just remember your promise."
"Rest assured on that," Qu Jianlei replied without hesitation.
For the remainder of the journey, they didn't say much. Flower Scorpion's driving was very steady, maintaining a uniform speed of thirty kilometers.
By the afternoon, the car arrived at a series of gentle mounds, with sparse groves on top.
"This is... lead-polluted woods?" Qu Jianlei muttered in surprise.
"Yes," Bentley wasn't much of a talker either.
"Picked quite a good spot," Qu Jianlei knew this lead-poisoned area, even beasts wouldn't want to come.
Some mutant beasts could withstand lead poison, but merely withstand it.
However, those mutant beasts, once hunted, are cursed by hunters; their value drastically drops or becomes useless.
Yet hiding things in such a place is highly convenient; lead poison only settles through human absorption.
The vehicle jolted over the small mounds for about twenty minutes before stopping at a mound.
Bentley jumped out of the car, took out a crowbar, and pried up a half-man-high boulder.
He didn't let Qu Jianlei use his strength, even though he knew he possessed Divine Power.
He wanted to prove he still had it.
No wonder, having awakened attributes as a Modified Warrior; despite looking old, he really opened the stone.
Beneath the stone was half a fragment of a buried wire... such a dilapidated scene is not uncommon in the Wasteland.
Bentley held the two ends of the wire in his hands and closed his eyes.
Shortly, the slope in front shook, and the soil and rocks slowly parted to reveal a tall stone door.
The door had a bowl-sized round hole; Bentley reached in, fiddled for a bit, then withdrew his hand.
Seconds later, the stone door slowly opened, revealing a three-meter-high, four-meter-wide entrance.
The spaciousness of the Secret Camp far exceeded Qu Jianlei's expectations; just the tunnel was over twenty meters deep.
Flower Scorpion stood guard outside while he and Bentley walked in, "You did this bit by bit yourself?"
"I wasn't that idle," Bentley replied nonchalantly, "Just caught some bastards to do the work."
What happens after the job is done? Qu Jianlei really wanted to ask, but he held back.
The old man considering catching "bastards" to work suggests a decency level that passes in the Wasteland.
The interior was quite spacious, ten meters by ten meters square, and even had two small rooms dug out.
The Secret Camp contained plenty of supplies, more than one vehicle, and three motorcycles.
There were many guns and ammunition and some energy blocks as well.
Qu Jianlei couldn't help but voice, "Old Ben, you planning to use this as a refuge?"
"The lead pollution is too heavy; how could anyone stay here long?" Bentley answered casually, "I was almost planning to use it as a grave."
Saying this, he sighed deeply, "I really didn't expect there'd be a day to use it."
——————
Bentley's level of wealth truly surprised Qu Jianlei.
Though he'd always complained about being too poor, he believed it's mainly due to cultivation consuming too many resources.
If he neglected cultivation, he didn't consider himself a tycoon but at least successful.
Any luxury district in a Settlement, he could easily buy a villa, possibly even a manor.
And when it comes to earning ability, he's confident he wouldn't lose to anyone, he could live carefree for sure.
But he really didn't expect just a seemingly ordinary noise in a city could accumulate so much wealth.
"At least twice as rich as me..." and that's not counting the cost of building this Secret Camp.
Bentley looked at him with a hint of doubt, "You think decades of my accumulation would be worse than yours?"
"This is because I still follow Basic Technique for Body Refinement; otherwise, I'd be much richer than I am now..."
