My Dragon King System

Chapter 140: The War: Lysandra Vs Aiden (Bonus)

Aiden stared Oberon's eye for a moment, then a smiled slightly as he said, "No"

Oberon then replied. "Perfecr, because the Contest starts at High Noon"

With that Aiden to leave, while Oberon cast a doubtful look at him for a moment.

Soon after, High Noon came and it was time for the contest. Several soldiers were mounted atop the walls of the city and the Gates of Dragonhold opened up to reveal a few persons on the backs of horses of walking out.

First was the King, Jarius, his daughter Lysandra, then the Grand Magus, Mumbleton and every other Guild Captain except for Ursula.

They all stayed closer to the gates of Dragonhold as witnesses, while Lysandra stepped out from their midst and made her way towards Aiden who stood waiting at a middle point.

Oberon and the Army he commanded stood several meters behind Aiden. So as of right now, it was just Aiden and Lysandra facing each other in close proximity.

They both knew the rules as well. It was simple, either kill your opponent to win or get them to surrender.

Lysandra was dressed in a robe of white and dark colors, as this wad the guild uniform for the Starry Maidens. She had joined Captain Ursula's guild just like her mother once did.

Lysandra standing infront of Aiden felt a mixture of different emotions. But the first thing she uttered was, "Why did it have to come to this?"

"We have a duty to perform Lysandra. Best we get on with it" Aiden said, then thrust his right arm forward.

Bolts of lights escaped his fingers and traveled wide towards Lysandra, who quickly reacted by casting gravity barrier right infront of her to deflect the raging bolts spell.

Lysandra continued, "I was so disheartened when you left. I even hated father for a while because I knew he pushed you that far. Grandal and I also tried what we could to look for you"

Aiden hadn't replied back, and with an expressionless face he casted a distortion magic spell that distorted Lysandra's sense of balance.

Lysandra felt her world spinning, and in addition to a sudden migraine, she also felt dizzy and could not maintain her balance; causing her to go down on one knee.

She was feeling all the effects of Vertigo.

"I don't want to hurt you lysandra, just surrender" Aiden said, while staring down at her with an outstretched arm pointing in her direction.

Doing this to his sister broke his heart him more than anything right now. Lysandra had never done him any wrong and yet, he was making her undergo this sort of suffering.

It hurt, but he kept reminding himself that it had to be done and all he had to do was get her to voice out her surrender.

Lysandra closed her eyes briefly then suddenly her magic power surged upwards in an attempt to reassert her dominance over the strength of the spell casted upon her. she steadied herself and slowly stood up from the effects of the passing attack.

Aiden didn't do anything to stop this, especially as he didn't want her to keep suffering.

"Aiden, it's not too late to stop this madness, against your own family! Your own people!"

Then he raised his voice, "Have you not realised it's too late for any of these? Just surrender or it's only going to get worse!"

Lysandra looked like her mood had shifted, "I see, then I'll have to beat you back to your senses"

Aiden scoffed but at that same moment, he felt this humungous weight of gravity surmounted on him. As an aftereffect, the ground beneath him cracked into a huge crater.

If his body's strength wasn't as high as it was perhaps he may have been submerged into the ground.

This was Lysandra's gravity magic spell that multiplied the effects of gravity acting on a surrounding by thirtyfold. A much better version of her father's "gravity x20"

Aiden slowly raised his hand under effects of that pressure, which frankly left Lysandra with widened eyes.

[Destruction skill: Zero Effect]

The multiplied effects of gravity upon the surrounding immediately ceased to exist. The effect had been "destroyed"

But Lysandra was quick and followed up with another attack in quick succession, thrusting her hand forward and causing a repulsive force of gravity to slam directly into Aiden.

Aiden felt a tingle in his senses, and instantly raised his right arm over his face as if trying to block the repelling force.

The repelling gravity attack failed to even move his feet slightly. Leaving Lysandra in astonishment as she had expected that spell to sending him flying away like paper.

Given that Aiden had also just copied the spell the moment it hit him, he decided to return the favor by thrusting his arm back at her to recast the newly copied spell, "Repel"

The unexpected repulsive force slamming back at Lysandra lifted her foot off her the ground and sent her flying away.

But before she could go far, Aiden used that supplementary spell that telekinetically and forcibly drew her back to him.

But Lysandra managed to increase the gravity around her so that she could stay put. This made Aiden unable to keep pulling her towards him.

She had this determined eyes and was just to cast another spell when suddenly Aiden's yelling froze her in place,

"BLOODY STOP IT WILL YOU!"

Fact was, Aiden had used his Dragon's fear skill simultaneously with the exclamation. Her body quivered and her eyes had terror in them. She dropped her hand about to cast a spell, and her knees were shaking till it eventually gave out and fell.

"Surrender Lysandra…" Aiden stared down at her.

Meanwhile…

Jarius who was watching intently as both his children fought, spoke to Ursula through a mind link spell casted by Mumbleton, which currently interconnected all captains and the King together. "Is that spell of yours ready Ursula?"

"Almost ready, Your Grace" Ursula replied back. Currently, the Celestial Magic mage was several thousand meters in skies, above the battlefield.

Just before the King and the other Captains had earlier stepped out with Lysandra to kickstart the contest, Ursula had teleported to the skies using one of her spells, "Celestial Magic: Stellar Port"

The distance between the Captain and the ground where the army stood was so far that no one would be able to detect that she had been up there the whole time casting a rather dangerous spell.

Even though Lysandra could barely look Aiden in the face due to being overpowered by fear, she still managed to say this while quivering, "Y-you w-will have to kill me… Aiden"

Aiden widened his eyes at such brazen determination even while being under the effects of Dragon Fear.

"Urgh!" Aiden exclaimed at how frustrating this was. If it was any other person before him, he would not have minded going further to hurt or even kill the said person and get this over with. But this was Lysandra!

Aiden then went up a notch by stretching out his hand towards her, and making his exploding sun take a miniature form infront of his palm.

The spectating mages on both sides of the battlefield immediately felt the magic power that technique exuded even though it was in its miniature ball form.

That unimaginable magic power that did not feel like it was coming from a human at all. This was the power of his fire magic at the Deity+ level.

Of course Aiden did this only to force Lysandra to voice a surrender, he wasn't actually going to extinguish her life, but Jarius who feared the most after feeling that magic power couldn't help but yell out, "Get her out of there now!"

Captain Azam of the Silver Pegasus Guild responded by using his Velocity Magic.

At a massively hypersonic speed reaching mach 500 to be exact, Azam sped into that battle fray, grabbed Lysandra and zoomed back into the city of Dragonhold.

It happened in one instant that it almost felt like teleportation.

"Ursula!" Jarius called out, before levitating, and flying back into the city in one sonic boom.

"It is done" She whispered and then teleported out of the skies like a twinkling star. Just now, her spell casting was complete.

The Clouds parted and a meteorite, large enough that it blackened the skies, descended down upon the army of ten thousand soldiers.

They all looked up in terror to see a large mass of earth blazing bright. Should that thing fall, one thing was certain, the casualties would definitely be - Everybody!

Lysandra was not chosen as the champion because she was the strongest mage, she was chosen because she was certain she would be able to stall Aiden long enough for Ursula to have complete the process of casting her high level celestial magic spell.

Should Aiden had fought someone else, he would have beaten that opponent faster than Ursula would have completed her spell.

Aiden right now could not believe what was going on. Jarius never planned to honor the Contest in the first place.

He glanced at the falling meteorite, then moved his sights quickly towards the city gates of Dragonhold where the other Captains and Mumbleton hadn't moved from yet.

"Tsk"

His irises took on a vertical slit, and his eyes transformed into that of a dragon's. He had not accounted for Casualties of that multitude, and it was going to stay that way.
