Reborn with Consumption System

Chapter 99 Oh Woman!_2

The aforementioned formula was especially lethal to the latter type.

Ding Xiang, as it happened, was a naive girl who particularly believed in fate and valued feelings.

"Naive" is the key point here.

A scoundrel like Han Lie could bring her an immense sense of novelty; by comparison, all her previous suitors seemed like immature boys.

Chen Yanfei realized something was amiss and promptly changed her plan.

Forget dinner! There's no way I'm letting you two sit face-to-face again today!

Heh, women!

...

"Shall we find a place to walk around?"

Chen Yanfei's proposal was met with enthusiastic responses.

The four of them discussed it and decided to go to Zhou Shuren Park across the street. During this, Han Lie contributed an "Okay," while Ding Yu was completely ignored.

The four split into two groups, two in front and two behind, not far apart.

Han Lie quietly asked Ding Yu, "Why is your sister so shy?"

Ding Yu equally quietly replied, "Both of us have been introverted since we were young; we take after our mom!"

"Never had a boyfriend?"

"No... I guess?"

Ding Ding hesitated, shaking his head reluctantly in answer.

Brother Lie let out a sly chuckle. Then, remembering something, he asked, "You seem to know Chen Yanfei from before?"

Ding Ding replied offhandedly, "I go to the Songjiang campus of Shanghai International Studies University once a week, and I've met Sister Fei several times already."

Kid, there's something off about you!

Brother Lie suddenly frowned, eyeing Ding Yu thoughtfully.

The poor kid was scared out of his wits.

However, perhaps the events earlier had given him some courage, for the brazen kid actually dared to threaten Han Lie, "Brother Lie, do you still want to be my brother-in-law or not?"

"Heh heh!"

Brother Lie sneered, slung an arm around his shoulder, and with a hollow gaze, stared at him, saying word for word, "Both of them are your sisters!"

Ding Ding was dumbfounded for a moment, then his forehead began to break out in a cold sweat.

"Yes, yes, yes! Both sisters, both sisters!"

"Good, keep it that way; don't make things difficult for your brother-in-law."

Han Lie, satisfied, patted his shoulder and looked at the kid's painfully awkward expression, bursting with inward laughter.

Just then, Chen Yanfei turned around and caught sight of it.

"Han Lie, what are you doing? Don't bully Little Yu!"

Brother Lie smiled brightly. "How could I? We get along great! Right, Ding Ding?"

"Right, right!"

Ding Yu, with Han Lie's arm still around his shoulder, nodded like a chicken pecking rice, looking desperately at his grinning biological sister.

Can't you really tell that Han Lie is bullying me?

Tch! Women...

Nothing much happened next; it was all just idle chatter about everything under the sun.

Chen Yanfei led the conversation, Han Lie assisted, Ding Yu chimed in with supporting remarks, and Ding Xiang contributed an array of admiring, curious, or surprised expressions.

Han Lie didn't flirt with Ding Xiang anymore, and Chen Yanfei didn't mention dating again; the atmosphere was calm and peaceful.

When it was nearly lunchtime, Chen Yanfei resolutely refused to eat.

"Let's not eat. Xiang Xiang and I rarely come to the city, and we're planning to go shopping in the afternoon. You two can follow if you like, or go do whatever else you want if you don't."

Upon hearing this, Ding Ding frantically waved his hands.

"No, no!"

Seeing this, Han Lie also felt embarrassed to follow.

—In fact, he hadn't planned on following anyway; Chen Yanfei was being superfluous.

However, this was understandable. No matter how strong-willed a person might be, their first attempt is always marked by inexperience and nervousness, preventing them from performing at their best. Such skills simply take time to develop.

Thus, at his current level, Han Lie basically swept the competition in one-on-one situations. It wasn't about being Special; one shouldn't always stomp on the accelerator without thinking. It was really a matter of mindset and experience.

After saying goodbye at the metro station entrance, Han Lie, feeling immensely successful, hummed a tune. Meanwhile, Ding Ding, feeling bitterly aggrieved, resentfully texted his sister.

"Sis, Brother Lie is not a good person! Don't you fall for it!"

"???"

"Mind your own business!"

Ding Ding immediately let out a wail.

It's all over! She's really going to fall for him just like that!

On the other hand, Ding Xiang showed the text to Chen Yanfei, and the two beautiful young women burst into laughter, huddled together.

"He only dares to call him Brother Lie when talking behind his back. Just how miserably must your brother have been bullied?"

"I also didn't expect his new roommate, whom he's terrified of, to be the tough guy you keep talking about. He was always so defiant with me, but today all his bravado has been thoroughly punctured... Ehehehehe..."

"What do you mean *I* keep talking about him? Haven't *you* been talking non-stop? 'Wow, the great god from Room 58 is so amazing, the returns are so impressive!'"

"Stop it, you're annoying!"

"And there's more—'His thinking is so clear! His moves are so fierce!'"

"I never said that! You're so annoying!!!"

Their laughter scattered all the way. Though their conversation always revolved around Han Lie, neither brought up feelings again.

Perhaps they both needed more time, as well as more observation and thought...

...

Han Lie was starving and didn't actually hold out for the grand dinner planned for the evening. Jokes aside, he wasn't that extreme.

"Come on, Ding Ding, to celebrate the connection between us, I'm giving you a chance to treat your brother-in-law to a meal!"

"Okay."

Ding Ding, being an honest kid, nodded before realizing something was amiss and looked at his "good" big brother suspiciously.

You want to woo my sister, and I have to treat you to a meal?

"Huh?"

Brother Lie casually glanced over, and Ding Ding immediately realigned his attitude.

"Big brother, what do you want to eat?"

Although he didn't call him brother-in-law yet, this attitude was a good start.

Brother Lie, fully satisfied, casually pointed to a Mister Lee's Beef Noodles.

I, Han Lie, am not some scoundrel who extorts people; a simple meal for common folk will do!

After they sat down in the restaurant, Han Lie had just pulled out his phone when he saw loads and loads and loads of messages from Xi Luting.
