Running A Cemetery in North America

Chapter 189: Celestial Platform Horror Tales (Part 2)

When he arrived in San Francisco, aside from several Cemetery Members, no one else knew; generally speaking, after guests check in, hotel staff wouldn't disturb them without reason.

So who could be knocking on the door now?

Sun Yan pondered for a moment, then headed towards the door.

As he put his eye to the peephole, he saw nothing outside. Just as he was about to pull back, a man with his arms straight up suddenly appeared outside the door.

"Clack... clack... clack..."

A strange sound like rusty gears turning echoed around Sun Yan, grating on his nerves and making his scalp tingle.

Before his eyes blurred again, the whirlpool from before started to appear.

Sun Yan was startled, realizing this was some sort of urban legend coming to find him.

Could it be that everyone who commented on that post would be drawn to this ghostly thing?

If it were an ordinary person, they would already be scared out of their wits, but who was Sun Yan? Since inheriting the Graveyard, if not one hundred, then at least fifty Evil Spirits, Demons, and Evil Gods had died at his hands.

These bizarre phenomena couldn't waver Sun Yan's resolve. He immediately opened the door and unleashed the Eight-Nine Mysterious Skill, delivering a punch to the face of the strange man outside.

The strange man evidently didn't expect someone to be so fierce, not only unafraid of him but daring to attack actively.

Caught off guard, he was struck in the cheek by Sun Yan's punch. When faced with such an enigmatic entity, Sun Yan had no intention of showing mercy.

He directly unleashed Incense Ash Magical Power, summoning the Mo Lihai Dharma, grabbing the man's body and tearing it in half on the spot.

The strange man immediately vanished without a trace, leaving nothing behind.

"What on earth was that? Definitely not an Evil Spirit or a Demon. Could it be an Evil God? Doesn't seem likely." Sun Yan furrowed his brow, cautiously scanning the corridor in both directions, yet the Celestial Eye revealed nothing.

He had never seen such a bizarre Evil God, appearing inexplicably and disappearing just as confusingly.

If Sun Yan's fist hadn't made definite contact with the opponent, he would have doubted whether he was hallucinating.

"This place isn't safe for a long stay. I need to go out and take a look."

...

San Francisco, the third tallest building, Kettel Building.

Late at night, the top floor remained brightly lit. At several hundred meters high, besides satellites and airplanes, no one would discover that atop this building was an ancient Mayan-style step pyramid altar.

At the moment, old Zorn stood by the altar, handing over a brocade box he had acquired.

A man in black took the box, and after inspecting the broken rod inside, he approached the top of the altar with this rod engraved with 'Ruyi Golden Cudgel'.

"Klein, do you think this will really work? Over the past few decades, we've already gathered too many Divine Weapons—Sol's hammer, Odin's spear, Poseidon's trident, the Supreme Ancestor's duster... including now the Monkey King's Golden Cudgel."

Old Zorn asked the blond youth beside him, "We've long confirmed that all the Divine Spirits who once existed have disappeared from this world for some unknown reason, and the artifacts they've left behind have lost their power, becoming no different from ordinary materials,

otherwise, according to records, this Ruyi Golden Cudgel weighs thirteen thousand five hundred catties, which we couldn't possibly lift."

The blond youth's eyes were bright and wise, watching the altar like a sage.

In response to old Zorn's query, he only smiled calmly, "We're undertaking something grand, Zorn. Don't let your shortsightedness make you doubt what you've been doing for years. Human life is short, so it's easy to doubt the future—this I can understand,

If you feel lost, just unconditionally trust me. I'll prove to you that you've always been doing the right thing."

Old Zorn nodded: "That thing has already started to appear. Just as you said, we've summoned something immensely powerful. By controlling it, we have a chance to overthrow the Evil God Council's hold over North America. We will overturn the old era and establish a completely new order."

"It's destined." Klein said with a mysterious smile, "Those old fools only know about Hell Demons and Evil Gods. They simply don't understand the might of the Ancient Gods. When they descend, Hell will merely be a region awaiting our conquest; Demons will work for us, and Evil Gods will serve us."

As the man in black reached the altar's top and tossed the Ruyi Golden Cudgel into a circular hole at the top, suddenly the whole Kettel Building was like a breathing giant beast.

It exhaled an invisible chill that cleared away the dark clouds above the building.

A colored star lit up in the night sky.

"Success is near. It shall descend from beyond the sky, and we no longer need to hide in the darkness." Klein, watching the colored star, spoke with utmost excitement.

At this moment, a strange man suddenly appeared nearby, standing with arms outstretched like a cross.

He hopped and skipped towards Klein, moving so listlessly that his limbs began to twist, like a scarecrow swaying in the wind.

"How could this be?!"

Klein and old Zorn's faces were filled with shock upon witnessing this scene.
