Running A Cemetery in North America

Chapter 184: You Have a Powerful Body I Have Divine Aid_2

If I really encounter Iron Yama, Sun Yan is not quite sure if he can stand a chance against him.

The best scenario is to avoid meeting him altogether. Sun Yan came to Tibet this time not to slay demons and become a savior.

Now that he has found the missing Sosia and others, he only needs to locate the whereabouts of the Celestial Toad Relic, gather the four life-saving treasures to lift the curse on him, and then he can leave this Spirit Realm in peace.

After the monks of Lotus Temple inspected everywhere to ensure there were no survivors, they took out torches to burn all the corpses of the evil people and then returned to the lotus.

The Dining Hall.

Sun Yan, along with Sosia, Elise, and others, sat at the main table, with Master Bazaar and several esteemed masters from Lotus Temple sitting alongside them.

There were many vegetarian dishes on the table. Although not a bit of meat or fish, they looked exceedingly appetizing, triggering one's appetite.

"Master Bazaar, now that the evil people outside Lotus Temple have been eliminated, can you tell me the whereabouts of the Celestial Toad?" Sun Yan asked with chopsticks in hand.

"Naturally, the Celestial Toad is an exceedingly rare Spirit Beast in Tibet. They are endowed with great wisdom, can ignore the seasons, and understand scriptures, thereby cultivating Buddhist teachings together. Any Celestial Toad in Tibet is an invaluable existence. If a Buddhist Temple acquires one, it will be devoutly worshiped within the temple.

The Celestial Toad's saliva is the world's purest Yang substance, capable of eliminating any karmic obstacles. Unfortunately, despite searching for the Celestial Toad for decades, I have made no progress. Now, I cannot directly assist you, but I do know a place where Celestial Toads surely exist."

Master Bazaar said earnestly.

"Where?" Sun Yan asked urgently.

Currently, a Celestial Toad is extremely important to him. It can purify the karmic taint of the Golden Halberd and allow him to obtain the Celestial Toad Relic.

If he cannot find it in this Spirit Realm, the difficulty of finding the Celestial Toad Relic in the real world will likely double.

"Great Black Heaven Temple."

"Ah this…" Sun Yan's hand holding the chopsticks suddenly froze.

Great Black Heaven Temple? Is that place even accessible?

Who knows that it was once a place to suppress Iron Yama? Even if Iron Yama has escaped, that place must still be very dangerous now.

If he goes there now, he might encounter even more dangerous things.

But the importance of the Celestial Toad Relic to Sun Yan is unquestionable. Even if facing the risk of confronting Iron Yama, he has to go.

After all, if he meets Iron Yama, he might die instantly.

But if he doesn't obtain the Celestial Toad Relic, he will succumb to the poison and die back in the real world, without much time to consider.

"Is the Great Black Heaven Temple far from here?" Sosia asked.

"Far, at the foot of Holy Mountain Celestial Peak, so it will take at least a dozen days to walk there, and along the way, there might be more evil people to encounter."

Master Bazaar explained in a serious tone: "There's no way around it, ordinary Buddhist Temples cannot attract Celestial Toads. Only those Great Buddha Temples can afford to worship Celestial Toads. Great Black Heaven Temple is already the nearest Temple of Virtuous Buddha to us."

Sun Yan was silent, feeling that they are playing double standards with him.

Master Sangji of Vajra Temple said Lotus Temple is a Great Buddha Temple, and then Master Bazaar of Lotus Temple said Great Black Heaven Temple is a Temple of Virtuous Buddha.

The Buddhist Temples in Tibet really come in numerous varieties.

But right now, Sun Yan has no other choice but to try to find the location of Celestial Toad.

"Please inform me of the exact location, Master Bazaar."

"You really want to go? If so, I will offer you the greatest assistance possible."

Master Bazaar ordered the monks to bring some things from the temple, and soon a monk came in from outside the hall, holding a tray covered with a white cloth.

On top were three items. The first was a lifelike old man's palm, with each finger wearing a gemstone ring.

But the frightening thing is, the wrist of this hand is attached to a black wooden staff, making it look like a Magic Staff.

"This is a Human Staff made from a severed human hand, endowed with certain mana through repeated recitations of scriptures by monks over generations. It can be of help to you." Master Bazaar introduced.

"What?! This is a real hand?" Sun Yan exclaimed in disbelief, his eyes widening.

To create a Human Staff Magical Artifact, using a living hand is such an outrageous thing.

Especially since Lotus Temple is a Great Buddha Temple, making it even harder to accept.

"One's consciousness comes into this world, and the body is just a temporary shell. After death, nothing is taken in nor left behind; the body never truly belonged. Master Jackson, no need to be so shocked. It seems your cultivation of mind obstacles isn't yet in place." Master Bazaar said indifferently.

"In this world, minerals are materials, trees and grasslands are materials, cattle and sheep bones are materials, so why can't the human body be a material, Master Jackson, you've been caught in appearances."

Listening to Master Bazaar's explanation, Sun Yan felt it even more absurd and somewhat like sophistry.

However, it wasn't ideal to argue with him, as these monks spend their entire lives exploring Zen and philosophy, and Sun Yan wasn't equipped to match them verbally.

"I won't use this Magical Artifact, Master, keep it to yourself."

Sun Yan waved his hand, moving on to the next item.

The second item looked even more peculiar, a Bluestone with a bone embedded inside.

"What is this?" Sun Yan asked.

"This is the corner-stone used in building Lotus Temple, infused with mana from monks' decades-long chanting, serving as an Exorcism Magical Artifact. Master Jackson, carrying it will inflict harm upon some evil people."

"This, never mind, next one."

Sun Yan quickly looked at the third item. The mere names of these two had convinced him they weren't legitimate Magical Artifacts.

Though he considered himself quite mysterious as a Graveyard Master, these artifacts could outdo him in eeriness, none made of normal materials.

Handling such things would surely make him uneasy.

The third item appeared more normal: a copper Buddha Carved Plate, looking remarkably new, with a polished stainless-steel aesthetic.

If it weren't for Master Bazaar asking the monk to bring it, Sun Yan would almost suspect it to be a homeware product.

"This Buddha Pendant, crafted from Celestial Meteorite Iron, aids in Calming the Mind. Wearing it repels evil spirits, and Heart Demons cannot influence you." Master Bazaar explained.

Some meteorites fragment upon falling, or simply consist of rock.

But others, with internal metals, turn into rare minerals upon impact, known as Celestial Meteorite Iron, esteemed for their rare benefits.

"This is quite normal," Sun Yan mused silently.

Had it been another eerie item, he would have been inclined to report it.

He nodded, accepting the Buddha Pendant: "Master Bazaar, I find this more suitable for me."

Master Bazaar perceived Sun Yan's strong resistance to the first two artifacts, said no more, simply nodded: "Very well then, Master Jackson, when are you planning to leave? Kindly inform in advance, so I can arrange provisions for your journey."

"Tomorrow," Sun Yan affirmed resolutely.

As they say, time waits for no one; delaying even one day risks unforeseen changes. Better to head for Great Black Heaven Temple soon to search for traces of the Celestial Toad.

Anyhow, he possessed Cemetery Entry 'Eight Hundred Miles Divine Walk,' with Cemetery Members also able to use his entries. Thus, the distance to Great Black Heaven Temple wasn't a significant problem.

The following day.

Lotus Temple gates opened wide, Sun Yan, with Sosia, Elise, and Dahuang, stepped out.

Roken was injured and needed care; plus, Sister Jessica was not a Cemetery Member, so Sun Yan let her stay to take care of Roken.

Once he found the Celestial Toad, he would return to bring them back to the real world.

"Master Jackson, be careful on the journey," Master Bazaar bid him farewell.

"I will, please take care of my two friends." Sun Yan nodded, returning the gesture, before heading with Sosia and Elise down a snowy path.
