Although she wasn't affected by the Mind Attack, Lilith was clearly still able to study how the attack worked on her mind.
By analyzing it, she could uncover the way to master it.
Over time, she even closed her eyes, looking more focused.
Every now and then, she nodded slightly, as if she was receiving answers to her questions.
Almost thirty minutes later, she finally opened her eyes again.
"This is enough," she said.
"Have you mastered it already, Sister Lilith?" Richard asked curiously.
"Not yet, but at least I understand much more now. I'm certain I can master it if I keep training," Lilith replied, looking eager to start practicing.
"You definitely can, Sister…" Richard encouraged her, and Lilith's smile grew brighter.
Now that her mood had improved, she no longer seemed upset about Richard's many requests.
"Sister, I'll be leaving now, I still have some things to do," Richard said again.
The woman casually waved her hand in response, still lost in her own thoughts.
Richard immediately left.
He put on the Phantom Robe once more after leaving the garden.
Then, he returned to the restaurant where he had seen Gray, Laura, and Olivia meeting.
But unfortunately, they were no longer there.
"I'm sure they're still nearby," Richard thought.
He remained standing, then spread out a thin wave again to cover a wide area.
He was familiar with their figures, so if they were touched by his wave, he would certainly be able to detect them.
The wave he released easily swept across the entire Apple Town and spread even farther, expanding several times wider than the city itself.
The Dark Forest was also passed over by the wave, but there was nothing significant there anymore.
Too many figures entered his perception, but after a while, he finally located three familiar ones—one man and two women.
Gray, Laura, and Olivia. Richard was sure it was them. Olivia wasn't even wearing her Phantom Robe anymore.
They were in a large forest behind the Dark Forest, about three kilometers away from it.
Without a second thought, Richard headed in their direction, consuming Spirit Essences along the way to restore his Aether.
He was certain they were trying to obtain something. How could he not involve himself with them?
Inside the city, he walked quickly at first, then broke into a run.
It was the first time he had truly run with his current strength, and he could only be astonished by his speed.
Though not as fast as Athena, he thought the difference wasn't too great.
He ran while keeping track of the three with his wave.
Since he already knew their location, he only spread his wave toward their area, so he wouldn't waste too much Aether.
The three of them were traveling at a slow pace, carefully observing their surroundings.
Richard naturally stopped running once he was close enough.
He kept a distance he estimated to be beyond their detection range and silently followed behind.
Unfortunately, he couldn't hear their conversation.
In theory, his wave should be able to pick up sound, but at his current realm, he had yet to reach the point of using it that way.
Not long after, he noticed they had stopped in front of a huge tree.
He scanned the massive tree with his wave and discovered something unusual.
There was a carving in the shape of a dragon's head on the tree.
Then, Richard saw Olivia and Laura take out something—a sphere that looked like it was made of glass.
The two exchanged glances before inserting the sphere into the dragon's mouth.
Buzz!
Richard felt a surge of aura burst out from within the mouth.
Afterward, the dragon's head carved into the tree suddenly enlarged, its mouth transforming into a cave wide enough for four or five people to enter at once.
However, it couldn't be entered. A light barrier blocked the entrance.
Olivia tried to step forward, but she was forcefully thrown back.
If not for her movement technique, she would have crashed into the tree behind her.
"It seems to be a secret place left behind by someone… but it likely has special requirements to enter," Richard thought.
At this moment, he could see the expressions of the three turning sour.
Unfortunately, most secret places were like that, not allowing just anyone to enter, as they were usually used to store treasures.
Only the descendants of the one who created the secret place might be able to enter.
Inheritance was not something given away easily.
Of course, there were always other ways. Those unable to force their way in with raw strength often relied on certain artifacts capable of dispersing the power of formations.
"Only descendants of the Dragon Knight clan may enter—unless you can destroy this magic formation—left by the Dragon Knight himself!"
A voice filled with arrogance suddenly echoed from the dragon carving's mouth, so loud that Richard thought it must have reached dozens of kilometers away.
"I guess this will cause a big commotion in Apple Town," Richard thought.
But at the same time, his expression grew strange.
Descendants of the Dragon Knight clan?
Before he could think further, he began to sense movements behind him.
It seemed that powerful Magi from Apple Town were already arriving.
There weren't many strong Magi in Apple Town, but there were still a few Old Magi who had reached the Life Aether Realm, aside from the city's ruler himself.
Richard chose to hide and soon spotted several figures passing by. One of them was the city lord. The rest looked old, or at least appeared to be in their forties.
"Olivia, so you're still here—how dare you!"
One of the Magi shouted furiously.
"Is this the inheritance of the Dragon Knight?" Another one didn't care much about Olivia, his eyes fixed on what was in front of them.
"It seems so. But you heard it too—only the descendants of the Dragon Knight clan can enter."
"So the Dragon Knight really had a clan. I thought not, but hey, who could possibly break the magic formation of his secret place? The Dragon Knight was the holder of the World Magic Aether in his era. On top of that, he was one of the strongest. His name was famous across the world—and to think his secret place lies in our remote region."
"This might not be good. If word spreads, even within the kingdom alone, who knows how many powerful figures will come."
"We must do our best to contain the news."
"That might be possible for a few days… but no longer than that."
