Chapter 171: Too Strong

If earlier the old man merely had his speed reduced, now he suddenly became completely unable to move.

He could no longer withstand the pressure of Richard's dragon fist, especially since his power was suppressed by resisting the Mind Attack.

As Richard began to throw his punch, the pressure alone already started cracking the old man's bones.

BANG!

An instant later, Richard's fist struck his chest, and the old man's entire body immediately exploded.

Considering Richard's mastery of Dragon Fist had reached 40%, he should have been able to release four dragon fist phantoms to support his attack.

However, since the target had already exploded, there was no need for that.

The Magi of the Holy Light Kingdom, who initially believed a powerful reinforcement had arrived, were left dumbfounded as that "reinforcement" was obliterated with a single punch.

Then, despair consumed them, realizing death was closing in.

This was war. Richard had no intention of holding back, because all strong enemies never hesitated to slaughter.

The shadow wolves he released quickly killed the remaining enemies within the city.

Richard didn't have to wait long before all enemies were truly dead.

Afterward, he recalled the shadow wolves and began heading toward the location where he sensed a stronger aura.

From what he observed, the Holy Light Kingdom forces seemed to be losing coordination—likely because no orders were being issued to control the battlefield.

Even so, it was still not easy for the Starlight Kingdom to push them back.

That was why support from overwhelmingly powerful individuals like Richard was crucial to breaking the balance.

Not long after, Richard found a battle that surprised him.

It was a fight between two figures, both seemingly highly skilled in speed.

One was enveloped in wind, with feathered wings on his back.

Had he not seen the man's face, Richard wouldn't have realized it was William Anderson.

He was fighting a man who looked about the same age as him.

This man had a pair of lightning wings and used a bow to fire arrows.

Unlike the two old men Richard had killed earlier, this one was clearly different.

His foundation in the Grimoire Realm was far deeper.

Most importantly, his speed was incredibly fast.

Even though the laser from the Ignis Volt Core was much faster, Richard wouldn't be able to aim it at this man if he kept moving like that.

He needed a different method.

"I guess I'll do it this way!" Richard took out his black sword and vanished into nothingness, becoming forgotten for a moment.

His arrival had actually been sensed—but then they suddenly forgot about him.

He couldn't directly approach the lightning-winged man. However, he simply waited along the route the man would pass, sword ready to strike.

Speed-type fighters tended to have weak defense. And Richard thought that with a surprise attack, the man wouldn't have time to use any defensive techniques.

Richard couldn't wait too long since being in a void state consumed his Aether.

Fortunately, the man was extremely fast.

He didn't wait long before the target appeared about ten meters in front of him.

Whoosh!

Richard slashed his sword and emerged from the void.

At the very least, the sword possessed sharpness capable of cutting through space when swung by his hand.

Most importantly, it struck the man precisely as he appeared, since the man moved so quickly he practically ran into the blade.

His eyes widened in shock as Richard materialized, swinging his sword from his waist toward his chest.

His body was neatly severed in half.

But Richard found that he still wasn't dead.

The lower half fell, but the upper half continued to fly.

"Richard?" William Anderson was astonished.

Richard couldn't pay attention to him now. He focused on the man, who instantly decided to flee even after being cut in two.

Though still alive, he was rapidly running out of strength.

An injury like that forced him to burn his vitality and Aether constantly.

Knowing he would struggle to chase him, Richard sent out a Mind Attack.

"Mmm…" Richard was stunned.

Within two seconds of the Mind Attack entering the man's body, the man fell under Richard's control.

His strength seemed to instantly drain away as he tried to resist it.

Once his strength was gone, the Mind Attack took over completely.

Richard couldn't help smiling as he controlled the man toward a large base protected by an extremely powerful formation.

Naturally, the base welcomed him; several people even came to assist him.

But suddenly, the remaining half of his body began to swell.

Boom!

He exploded, releasing lightning that annihilated everything around him.

A Magus could run out of strength, but their flesh and blood were the true foundation of their power.

When detonated, they could unleash an attack above their own level.

Boom!

The formation protecting the base exploded from the inside.

The base wasn't completely destroyed, but everyone inside was torn into pieces by the exploding lightning.

Even the blast extended beyond the base, hitting those nearby.

Richard arrived shortly afterward, but the balance had already shifted into a complete victory for the Starlight Kingdom.

Even William Anderson seemed shocked that everything ended so quickly.

"Do you know where other strong enemies are?" Richard approached him and asked.

William appeared troubled when he heard the question.

"At the moment, the Holy Light Kingdom's forces are scattered across all the border provinces. Our side should be attacking on every front, so they can't gather in one place. If you want to find them, you'll have to search region by region," William explained.

"If you want, I can take you. Even though you're stronger, I think you—and even your horse or flying vessel—are still slower than me," he added.

"Of course!" Richard agreed without hesitation.

Carrying one person was easy for a Magus. It barely affected their efficiency.

William nodded and enveloped Richard with his wind power, connecting it to the wind surrounding his own body.

Whoosh!

He pulled Richard along at full speed.

At that velocity, Richard felt as if it was almost reaching the limit of what his body could withstand.

Fortunately, he had the Titan Skeleton, which strengthened his physique—otherwise he wouldn't have endured the speed.

People like William and the lightning-winged man likely had bodies adapted to such extreme speed.
