Gulp~
Dorian kept his eyes locked on the numerous giant eggs arranged in front of him. Each egg was pulsing with life. It was nothing as extravagant as Ciel's egg before she hatched, but the energy was definitely there.
'These eggs… could they be?'
Dorian took a few steps forward and then gently placed his hand on the egg closest to him.
`[The skill Analysis is now active.]`
`[Name: Dragon Egg.]`
[Condition: Normal.]
'What?' Dorian raised a brow. 'You're kidding me. So I was right? These are dragon eggs?'
The shock didn't clear, even after he scanned the entire "egg factory" and counted over fifty eggs nestled within the cave. He gripped the side of his head as he looked around, nervousness glued to his features.
'This can't be. Did I miss an update or something? I was sure I scanned this place before, and there was no sign of this. Don't tell me this was what my `Resource Gathering` skill tracked. Baby dragon eggs?'
Suddenly, a voice echoed from behind him.
"Master, you're here."
Dorian quickly turned his gaze backward, only to see Ciel standing at the entrance of the cave. In her hands was a large egg—no, a dragon egg.
'Egg…'
He scanned the egg for a while, then Ciel's unusually calm face.
'Dragon…'
It all made sense in that moment.
Moving back, he rested his back on the egg behind him, a nervous chuckle leaving his mouth as he continued to hold the side of his head.
"Master? What's wrong? I was going to come find you once I was done. I didn't think you would look for me yourself."
"Ciel."
"Yes."
"Did you… no, these eggs, how did you come about them?"
"I am glad you asked." Ciel placed the egg she was carrying to the side before placing a hand on her waist, a smug expression on her face.
"All these eggs belong to me. I laid them all a while back."
"You did, didn't you? Of course you did, that makes sense." Dorian kept whispering to himself as though he was trying to convince himself it was normal.
In truth, if what he was thinking was even remotely true, then this could be a big issue in the future. Dragons were extinct for a reason.
"You don't look as excited as I assumed you'd be. Are you perhaps unsatisfied with the number? If you'd like, then I can make more. All I'd need is your sperm and a few days' worth of mana to nurture it."
There was a pause.
"Repeat that," Dorian slowly raised his head.
"I can make more. All I need is some of your sperm and I will handle the rest."
"Wait, how did you get my sperm to make these ones? No, yes, fuck, so many questions!"
"You are human, Master, so I can understand why the art of dragons can be a mystery to you. In order for us to procreate, those like me who have the ability to produce multiple offspring can do so by injecting a donor's sperm into our bloodstream. Then I can lay as many eggs as possible, depending on how strong the sperm is."
Dorian simply listened, his face squeezing in shock.
"I believe my kind used the sperm of powerful races in order to breed other powerful dragons. If the sperm was weak, it would probably lead to the birth of a weaker creature. That said, for one bit of sperm to breed this many dragons seems unnatural," Ciel shook her head a bit.
"I know nothing of this world as of yet, but I know for a fact it shouldn't be this easy to create offspring."
For a brief moment, the shock on Dorian's face faded.
'She does make sense here. If dragons were so easy to give birth to, then them going extinct seems almost weird. Not to mention the studies on them are minimal. So I guess that checks out. However, that doesn't explain my other question.'
He suddenly pointed at her. "How the hell did you get my white liquids?! I don't remember giving you any!"
"Well yeah, of course you won't, Master. You were fast asleep. I had to strip you and continuously stroke that snake in your leg to get it out. That system thingy told me to do so."
'System what?'
"You can... see my system?"
"It called itself your system, so I guess so."
'Dragons sure are amazing. Now that I think about it, no wonder I woke up naked. She was the one who molested me while I was sleeping?'
He sighed.
If this were him a few years back, he would have panicked at the information he was getting.
But as things are, this was likely the least perverse thing he would hear from now on. So, he composed himself.
"You created close to fifty eggs with my sperm?"
"Yes, I did. Though nurturing them is a different thing. I tried gathering enough mana to house them, but I don't think I can last that long…"
Dorian stood upright and looked at the eggs.
'Nurturing. Ciel took hundreds of years to grow into what she is, right? If we include my mana playing a part, it should be sooner. Dragon eggs probably don't work as other eggs do. So my approach to this should be different.'
He thought for a while.
'I'll still question her about a lot of things, but looking at this, having an army of dragons under us not only helps me but the kingdom as well. This might be a new age and the reawakening of dragons.'
'If I want to do this, I need to study how effective my mana is on the eggs, how many eggs to hatch, and how long it should take. I can attain all this using my `Analysis` skill, but there might be a few casualties.'
After making up his mind, Dorian faced Ciel.
"I'll be running some tests on these eggs. Is that alright with you?"
"Of course. They belong to you. Please do with them as you see fit."
'If any of the higher nobles should hear I have this many dragons in my backyard, hell will break loose.' Dorian grinned.
'Then again, this much power will always serve as a good bargaining chip.'
