Abyss Sequence

Chapter 5: Reactions

Yan Luo got up and led the three reporters and Jin Miaomiao to the gym.

He showed the three reporters around the gym equipment, then punched the target.

In an instant, the power meter on the target soared, reaching a figure of 3.5 tons in no time.

"This isn't my full strength." Yan Luo pointed at the target and said, "These machines are a bit fragile for me now. If I use full force, they will break. I've already ordered new gym equipment, which should arrive in a few days."

Everyone present, except for Yan Luo, was dumbfounded at the sight of that number.

Someone could actually hit with a force of 3.5 tons, and he said this wasn't his full strength?

Yan Luo continued, "Currently, my maximum high jump is fifteen meters. With a full jump, I could reach almost the height of a five-story building."

People were stunned again, taken aback by such immense strength!

Could this be achieved without Engraving, relying solely on muscle strength? Is this still a carbon-based life form?

Yan Luo seemed to see the thoughts in the reporters' minds and opened his hand to show them his muscles.

"My muscle structure is different from that of a normal person. At the same weight, I can exert several times more strength than an average person. My nerve structure has also changed. If it were any stronger, maybe I could cut a bullet with a knife."

The reporters completely lost their sense of self, staring blankly at Yan Luo.

The more they looked, the more they felt that Yan Luo wasn't human.

"However, despite the big changes in my muscle structure, my genes haven't changed much. This means the changes are likely non-heritable traits."

Yan Luo's words made the reporters breathe a slight sigh of relief; they had thought Yan Luo wasn't human.

In theory, such changes in the body should be inheritable by descendants, and Yan Luo's children would be stronger than others at birth.

But since Yan Luo said the changes hadn't affected his genes, it meant his children should be like other children when they were born.

Yan Luo led the three reporters and Jin Miaomiao back to the living room, sat on the long sofa, and continued the interview.

Yuri, after some careful thought, came up with another question: "Yan Luo, I heard that now any Demons killed in the Abyss will drop materials. Did you also get materials after eliminating those City-breaking Level Demons in this wave? What about that Catastrophe Level Frostbear?"

"We did," Yan Luo replied openly. "I've already received the first dividend, though the amount can't be disclosed. Just know that it's not a small figure. Once I get the dividend from this wave, I can repay all the loans for the gravity chamber."

The gravity chamber was worth a hundred million. If Yan Luo hadn't paid the loans before, he could at least get a hundred million in dividends from this wave... Crap, this time the Hunters of Crimson No.2 really hit the jackpot!

The three reporters felt they were already numbed by Yan Luo's demonstrations. Even knowing he made so much money didn't astonish them anymore.

Kevin's eyes swiveled, and with a sly smile, he asked, "Yan Luo, are you planning to date anyone soon?"

Upon hearing this, the three women present perked up their ears.

Yan Luo was wealthy, good-looking, tall, and definitely had good stamina and earning ability. From any perspective, he was a perfect boyfriend candidate.

"No, dating is a waste of time for me right now. I have no time for such things!" Yan Luo's decisive answer left everyone disappointed.

The three reporters discussed among themselves and realized they had asked all their questions, then decided to end the interview.

They didn't let others get a chance to interview Yan Luo alone, eyeing each other closely, even riding the same car to leave.

Jin Miaomiao watched the three reporters leave in a car and then turned her gaze from the villa's large floor-to-ceiling window towards Yan Luo, "So... Boss, do you have any other instructions?"

Knowing how wealthy Yan Luo was, Jin Miaomiao had a little plan. She thought that if she could serve Yan Luo well, maybe she could get a raise.

Currently, her monthly salary was fifteen thousand, and with Yan Luo being so rich, could she get a raise to more than twenty thousand?

Yan Luo didn't notice Jin Miaomiao's thoughts and shook his head, "No, you're good. Next, help me look over the endorsement cooperations and pick out the manufacturers you think are good."

"Oh."

Jin Miaomiao felt a little disappointed but soon reignited her enthusiasm.

To a recent graduate like her, a monthly salary of fifteen thousand wasn't low, and there was room for growth in the future. It wasn't necessary to pursue a raise now, at the risk of displeasing the boss and losing this hard-earned... easy... job.

"Don't worry, Boss, I'll get to it right away!"

After speaking, Jin Miaomiao ran out to catch a ride home.

She wanted to study thoroughly at home, so as not to give the boss a bad impression.

Sending everyone off, Yan Luo heaved a sigh of relief, leaning back on the sofa to relax for a moment.

Before long, Yan Luo stood up and quickly headed to the gravity chamber to begin today's workout.

His body's potential hadn't been fully tapped yet. Once fully tapped, his absolute strength could potentially surpass 2.2 tons.

Yan Luo felt the need to become stronger quickly, as he wanted to uncover the truth behind the Demon Tide nine years ago.

The old Hunter named 'Mu Ye' had told him that after that Demon Tide, his parents' teammate Wen Chongwu survived and went to investigate whether there was a conspiracy behind the Demon Tide.

However, Wen Chongwu later disappeared without a trace.

If Yan Luo remembered correctly, Wen Chongwu should have been a Sequence 4 Hunter like his parents.

Hunters of this level disappearing without a trace suggested that the forces behind the event were very powerful. Yan Luo needed to train himself to become even stronger to confront these forces.

Moreover, according to the theory of strengthening potential, if Yan Luo developed his potential to the fullest at each stage, future phases of self-development might be easier, and the growth in strength would be greater.

So far, some evidence supported this point. Yan Luo's recent training had resulted in far more strength gain in a short period than before, with visible progress every day.

If this continues, he could definitely grow into a true powerhouse!

......

As for the three reporters who interviewed Yan Luo, they immediately began processing the interview video upon returning to the hotel.

Within half a day, the three media outlets released their respective news articles.

They all knew they had to be quick since others also had access to the same resources. Surprisingly, the release times of their reports were almost simultaneous.

[United News] — "A Glimpse into Yan Luo's Life"

[Spiritual Spring Daily] — "The New Extraordinary Power Pioneer from Lingquan City"

[Hunter's Weekly] — "Special Edition: Yan Luo's Path to Wealth"

Though the content barely differed, the catchy headlines successfully targeted the audience's psyche.

[United News] is a major media outlet focusing on major global news. Yan Luo was considered a significant figure for pioneering a new extraordinary path, thus catching the radar of [United News].

[Spiritual Spring Daily] and [Hunter's Weekly] had clear target audiences: Lingquan City residents and Hunters worldwide, respectively. Their headlines were devised to appeal to their specific readerships.

Because of the appealing headlines, the news quickly garnered widespread attention shortly after its release.

The popularity of 'Yan Luo' had barely subsided before skyrocketing again, and it became unstoppable.

Many were amazed that Yan Luo punched 3.5 tons without full force, pondering if this meant he could wrestle with lethal-level Demons when at full strength.

With such power, how strong could his physical endurance be...

"Huh?"

Jin Miaomiao, as Yan Luo's assistant, had applied for a public contact number. She was at home, selecting suitable advertisement manufacturers for Yan Luo's endorsements when she suddenly received numerous messages.

Those messages weren't invitations for endorsements, but instead, proposals to enjoy a pleasant evening with Yan Luo.

Jin Miaomiao thought they were all crazy!
