Chapter 40: Reckless Berserker! Heroic Spirit Hall Displays Its Might!

Duncan rises on Great Britain.

Who feels the most unwilling in their hearts? Without a doubt, it's the two brothers Hengist and Hosa right before him.

Hengist died under the ballista, unable to showcase his martial prowess, while Duncan shot Hosa with the Nord Bow, leaving no chance for close combat.

The spirits of the two brothers are arranged to sit opposite Duncan, a sure sign that the traditional show of the Heroic Spirit Hall is about to start.

Life in the Heroic Spirit Hall is very simple.

Eat meat voraciously, drink heavily, gleefully hack at others, be hacked to death and resurrected, continue the hacking tomorrow.

This place has a taste of Green-skinned Orc Waaagh.

Behind Duncan, the Valkyrie with the bird-winged golden helmet hurriedly offered him a set of armor, but Duncan nonchalantly waved his hand and calmly said, "No need!"

What armor to wear.

When sparring with masters, ordinary armor is useless; at least medieval plate armor is necessary. Chain armor can't withstand a full-force strike from a two-star warrior and would only slow down one's reaction speed.

Duncan just grabbed a shield, a battle axe, casually pulled out a spear from the table leg, and tucked a French throwing axe at his waist.

Hengist and Hosa exchanged a glance.

Clearly, the just-fallen Hosa harbors more resentment, ready to leap out immediately and engage Duncan in a life-and-death fight.

"No need for such trouble!"

"Both of you come at me together!"

Duncan's Unflagging Intoxication has already begun to take effect; he can feel his frenzy rising, likely due to the added 'Reckless' negative state.

Arrogance!

The entire Heroic Spirit Hall erupted in commotion, with faint shadows gradually appearing at the seats of the Norse Twelve Main Gods showing slight changes in expression. Odin squinted his one eye slightly, and Sol revealed an interested look because this arrogant tone suited Him well; Sol is also a reckless divine spirit.

These are two founding monarch-level heroic spirits, not ordinary brave soldiers who died in battle.

Duncan actually invites them to come at him together!

This is a blatant insult!

Even after becoming heroic spirits, Hosa is nearly enraged to madness, brandishing his battle axe to charge forward, but Hengist extends a hand to stop him, directly speaking to the bird-winged silver helmeted Valkyrie nearby in a deep voice, "Give him a battle bow!"

It's widely known that Duncan's most formidable combat skill is archery.

Duncan didn't even take a bow and arrow, clearly dismissing them altogether. Hengist, as a founding monarch, also has his pride, and bullying a divine archer in close combat seems unjust.

The Valkyrie with the bird-winged golden helmet hastily pulled out a battle bow and handed it to Duncan, but Duncan didn't reach out to take it.

He's here to assert his dominance in the Heroic Spirit Hall!

If he uses bow and arrow to kite and shoot down the two brothers, how can he intimidate the heroes in the Heroic Spirit Hall?

"No need!"

Duncan let out an arrogant laugh and said to the golden-helmeted Valkyrie, "Once I've cut them down, you can pour me a good drink!"

In the real world, one stays cautious and develops conservatively, fearing injury or disability, which would affect subsequent battles and hinder using the piercing attack tactic when riding with Anya.

In the Heroic Spirit Hall, Duncan can go all out with his punches!

Unscathed all the way, even when leading his guard to slay Hosa, Duncan hasn't faced a moment when he had to fight desperately.

If Duncan were to activate 'Great Frenzy' then, he would single-handedly challenge the entire elite chieftain guard!

In his past life, Duncan played games like Total War: Three Kingdoms, only a few fierce generals like Lu Bu, Zhao Yun, Guan Yu could single-handedly charge an enemy elite unit.

Even the Valkyrie with the bird-winged golden helmet was shocked!

The Heroic Spirit Hall hasn't encountered such a formidable person in hundreds of years!

The overlapping shadows of spirits are thunderously noisy, awakening countless spirits of the Germanic Barbarian Race who have slumbered for centuries. All are awakened, descending to watch Duncan single-handedly face Hengist and Hosa.

Duncan was bare-chested, without armor. His solid chest seemed chiseled from marble, while his muscles coiled like dragons, making the hardened lines on his back reminiscent of the semi-divine legendary heroes from ancient Greece.

"He reminds me of a Spartan!...," murmured a whispering spirit.

Gradually, the surroundings became deathly silent.

Above the Heroic Spirit Hall, Odin's condensed shadow raised a hand slightly. In the next moment, the hall scene transformed, resembling the grand arena of ancient Rome.

Duncan VS Hengist and Hosa!

Amidst the cheers reverberating throughout the Heroic Spirit Hall, heard almost throughout Asgard, the sacred Heroic Spirit Hall duel finally commenced.

Duncan's figure swiftly retreated as he took the French throwing axe from his waist.

Roar!

Hosa first let out a furious roar, holding a shield in one hand, an axe in the other, charging towards Duncan.

Hengist, a champion of the Jutes' personal guard battle group, sword and shield in hand, flanked Duncan from another direction. The two brothers approached quickly, their life's grievances and unwillingness now transforming them into ferocious beasts.

Duncan's figure began to accelerate.

In an instant, he lunged forward, his figure parallel to the ground, as he swung the French throwing axe in his hand fiercely before rolling swiftly to his feet, already wielding his shield, holding a heavy spear, preparing to face Hengist head-on.

Real men never look back to see conquered foes!

This scene was very much like the images in Kung Fu movies of his past life, where the axe-wielding gang leader violently flung the flying axe, breaking an opposing leader's leg.
