The tsunami struck with cataclysmic force, its massive weight and supernatural pressure hammering into the space where Arthur and his summons occupied. Water compressed by legendary-rank power crashed down with enough force to pulverize mountains, the domain shaking from the sheer magnitude of destructive energy being released.
But the attack passed through them completely.
Whoosh...
It was as if Arthur and his companions had become intangible ghosts. The water that should have crushed them simply flowed through their quantum-displaced forms without making contact, unable to affect targets that existed in layered spatial folds beyond its reach.
The tsunami continued past their position, its devastating power wasted on enemies who had briefly stepped outside the dimension where such attacks could cause harm. The water crashed into the domain's far wall with thunderous impact before dispersing back into the shallow sea, leaving Arthur and his forces completely unscathed.
Splash... splash... splash...
Arthur's smirk widened into a genuine smile as the quantum displacement effect continued protecting them. Ten seconds of absolute invulnerability—more than enough time to survive the flamingo's desperate ultimate attack and position themselves for a devastating counterassault.
"You see," Arthur explained conversationally to his opponent, his voice carrying across the domain with infuriating casualness, "that's the difference between elemental manipulation and spatial control. You can throw as much water as you want, but if we're not occupying the same dimensional space, your attacks might as well be hitting empty air."
"Good job, Aether." Arthur smiled before caressing the smiling dragon's scales.
"Hehe."
Splash...
The Tidal Flamingo stood in the shallow water, its twin heads hanging with obvious exhaustion. The massive mana expenditure had taken its toll—the creature's breathing was labored, its liquid armor showing cracks and gaps, and its four eyes reflected growing desperation as it realized its ultimate technique had accomplished absolutely nothing.
Bloom's core radiated satisfaction by secreting more pollen at the flamingo's predicament. The Cackle Queen's disturbing laughter echoed across the domain, mocking the legendary creature's wasted effort. The Winter Beast's ice began spreading more aggressively, sensing weakness in their opponent's domain control.
Arthur's hand moved to rest on his katana's hilt as Quantum Existence continued protecting them for a few more precious seconds. The flamingo had expended enormous resources on an attack that had failed completely, leaving it vulnerable and depleted.
"Your turn is over," Arthur announced, his tactical mind already calculating the most efficient method to end this battle. "Now it's ours."
The five-minute cooldown on Quantum Existence had begun, but Arthur had no intention of needing it again. The flamingo's desperation had created the opening he'd been waiting for, and he intended to exploit it with ruthless efficiency.
---
The Quantum Existence effect faded, returning Arthur and his forces to full dimensional presence. The Tidal Flamingo stood before them, visibly exhausted from its failed ultimate attack, water armor cracked and mana reserves depleted.
Arthur's eyes gleamed with predatory focus. "Now."
Whoosh!
Aetherion teleported them directly above the flamingo, positioning for a devastating dive. Arthur activated Orbit immediately, twenty weapons consisting of very-rare and epic-ranks materializing around him in gravitational patterns. Each blade, spear, and hammer began spinning with increasing velocity.
"All together! strike!"
The weapons launched as a coordinated volley, converging on the flamingo from multiple angles simultaneously. The creature's twin heads jerked upward in alarm, attempting to form defensive water barriers.
Splash! Clang! Slash!
But the flamingo's depleted mana couldn't generate adequate protection. Arthur's orbital weapons punched through weakened defenses, each impact drawing crimson blood that stained the shallow water below.
SHRIEK!
"Ooh! The pink bird is getting all scratched up!" Aether chirped with innocent enthusiasm despite the violence. "Master's spinny swords are going poke-poke-poke!"
Bloom's consciousness reached out again, invisible tendrils of psychic manipulation worming into the flamingo's wounded mind. "Yes... feel the pain... let it consume your thoughts... drown in your own fear..."
The Cackle Queen's laughter erupted across the domain—sharp, hysterical, maddening. "AHAHAHAHA! Dance for us, water bird! DANCE!"
Despite the difference of strength between the Cackle Queen and the flamingo, the Cackle Queen wasn't afraid of the flamingo not one bit. Its master was much stronger.
SHRIEK! SHRIEK!
The mental assault struck simultaneously with physical attacks, overwhelming the flamingo's ability to coordinate defenses. Its twin heads thrashed independently, each trying to address different threats while psychic pressure fractured their shared consciousness.
This flamingo is finished, Arthur thought coldly, analyzing the flamingo's deteriorating condition. Legendary rank means nothing without mana or mental coherence. It's just meat waiting to be harvested. It will be a good addition to the team...with two domain wielding beasts, I will be much stronger even if I don't level up.
Arthur knew that it was only a matter of finding new second order beasts before he reached level 25 himself and he knew it wouldn't take long. The more he killed, the stronger he became and the stronger his beasts were.
"Winter Beast, use your strongest attacks! I want maximum strength!"
The Winter Beast responded silently, channeling its icy domain with renewed intensity. Ice spread aggressively across the water's surface, creating dimensional friction that weakened the flamingo's territorial control even further.
Crack... crack...
The domain's integrity began fracturing under competing influences. The tropical paradise flickered, revealing glimpses of the normal forest beyond as the flamingo's grip on reality loosened.
Splash!
The creature attempted another water tendril attack, but the formation was sluggish, poorly controlled. Aetherion dodged casually with a simple barrel roll.
"The bird's getting super slow now!" the void dragon observed cheerfully. "Like it's moving through honey instead of air!"
Arthur pressed the advantage ruthlessly. "Bloom, Cackle Queen—intensify mental pressure. I want it paralyzed."
Both legendary beings complied with disturbing eagerness.
Bloom's voice carried poisonous satisfaction. "Your territory betrays you... your strength fails... your death approaches... accept the inevitable..."
"AHAHAHA! WEAK! PATHETIC! DYING!" The Cackle Queen's hysteria reached fever pitch, her laughter becoming a weapon that carved through mental defenses like razors through flesh.
SHRIEK!
The flamingo's legs buckled, one head drooping as its body became a victim of overload, disrupted basic motor functions. Dark blood flowed from its beak, internal damage manifesting as the psychic assault tore through its consciousness.
Now.
"Living Shadow. Position yourself beneath the target."
