Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 755: Blood Moon Ice Seal

Raymond appeared extremely angry over the matter—those damned media bastards had belittled him to the point of irrelevance.

The apparent calm on Sky Shadow's face was enough to reflect the turmoil within his mind. First, Jiu Ling was defeated, followed by Sword Dragon losing to him, yet this sudden ranking update had managed to demean his value to nothing.

His strength aside, even when considering his potential, not being able to break into the top ten was perplexing. Sky Shadow didn't know whether to feel joy or to be angry at the world's ignorance.

Those stupid people couldn't possibly think they had given such an assessment only after he lost to Mengdie.

In the end, that mysterious girl was no more than a second-rate expert who was adept at using bizarre moves. He wasn't unable to defeat her—it was just that continuing the fight had been pointless due to the speed difference. Moreover, as a fighter who relied on explosive power, the longer the fight dragged on, the more disadvantageous it became for him; conceding was a much cleaner end.

From the way Feng Yi (Revenge Shadow Rider) had managed to hit Mengdie hard enough to cause an apparent "pregnancy" with a single strike, it was clear that Mengdie's physique wasn't very strong. Of course, it had to be admitted that he couldn't catch up with Mengdie, but that didn't mean he couldn't defeat her. There were many ways to win, such as creating a space where Mengdie couldn't utilize her speed to her advantage.

Sky Shadow was that kind of person; when facing an opponent he wasn't confident about defeating, he would investigate and try to master everything about that person's data and weaknesses. Long ago, he had conducted targeted research into Revenge Shadow Rider's initial moves, reaction time, and even which direction to dodge during critical moments, which was why he had challenged Feng Yi.

Mengdie was naturally within the scope of Sky Shadow's investigations; however, information about her was too fragmentary and obscure to the point of being untraceable. The known data said she came from a secret organization in the Zana Republic and was known to the outside world as a Zana Super Healer, but you couldn't find any record of her combat with any expert. Even if there were any, descriptions of such events were vague and perplexing, adding to the confusion as Mengdie's appearance and voice remained unverified.

According to the information in her photo, Mengdie possessed a somewhat attractive face and had an official age of around 27 as a veteran healer. But that was merely a human skin mask, which he, Sky Shadow, had personally knocked off. The real Mengdie was much younger than the records suggested. When she challenged Revenge Shadow Rider, she hardly opened her mouth. Sky Shadow even suspected that she might have resorted to ventriloquism when speaking.

It had to be said that the mysterious Mengdie had long piqued Sky Shadow's interest. Her enigma was even greater than that of Revenge Shadow Rider. Observing her behavior, one could conclude that she was a headstrong person. Although she moved swiftly like a startled hare, she purposely made loud, assertive footsteps that resounded heavily on the ground, pressing him until he turned around; only then did she agree to halt her advance...

Mengdie was fundamentally different from Revenge Shadow Rider, who fought for the sake of battle itself, blazing like a wild flame. Whereas Mengdie didn't seem to have that same eagerness to oppress herself in combat.

It wasn't hard to discern from her indifferent gaze the dismissive pride that only showed some concern when she was defeated by Revenge Shadow Rider. After that loss, she cast a fleeting glance in that direction before going offline. Rumors abounded—Mengdie was knocked offline by Revenge Shadow Rider with one hit/struck pregnant/blown away—various versions flooded the gossip channels.

Sky Shadow prided himself on his proficiency in psychology, and he was sure that Mengdie wasn't someone who cared about a single fight. Or rather, compared to personal interactions, her temperament contained a cold detachment akin to that of a killer. This type of person, lacking in close kinship and warmth, wasn't difficult to deal with. However, who exactly was she, where did she come from, and where was she now?

On Bull Planet, amidst purple bamboo forests shrouded in cloud and mist, with iron trees blossoming and vegetation lush, with the dew turning to frost, Mengdie was surrounded by flora and fauna, her dark hair dancing without wind. As she moved her fingers, streams of golden light radiated outward from her, as if a performance of the Light of Life was bursting forth.

This was the Nine Curves Glorious Slash, one of the gold-based Five Elements Techniques only elders of the Jade Clear Sect could learn. Mengdie had only mastered the third layer and since it wasn't her forte, her power fell short of the Butterfly Dance Jade Purity Technique, let alone the wood-based Thousand Leaves Green Vine technique. Under the constant enhancement of the Gale Technique, Mengdie's delicate form surged out of the bamboo like a dragon setting forth to sea. With changes in her hand seals, she once again executed a fire-based skill, the Phoenix Dance Spiral Fall.

Five Elements Technique wasn't exclusive to the Jade Clear Sect. The Nangong Family also specialized in it, but the developmental directions of the two hidden sects were different. The Nangong Family excelled in Illusion Technique, Eye Technique, Body Technique, and Puppetry Technique, while the Jade Clear Sect had a greater inclination towards Curse Seal Technique, Illusion Sound Technique, Yin Yang Technique, along with Five Elements Technique.

However, it seemed she was hiding some troubles, as her move sequences were somewhat disordered, completely out of sync...

"Elder Mengdie, do you want me to help you kill that kid?" The junior protector approached leisurely, seeming to have long noticed the fluctuations in Mengdie's mood, and spoke softly.

Since Master Wu Tian had ordered Mengdie to kill those three people, she had yet to act. Stopping by Bull Planet today, was it time to kill that boy named Xiu Yi and thus change some of the karmic ties with "that person"?

Nonetheless, Mengdie didn't want to say anything. She turned her body away, ignoring her as if silently responding with 'I don't need you to meddle in my affairs.'
