Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 713: Looking into the Future

Feng Yi quietly breathed a sigh of relief. After hurrying along at various paces, he finally arrived just in time. His sudden appearance caught the unsuspecting Looters off guard, and everyone's gaze focused on him...

The man was clearly not a benevolent visitor, as he could appear so quickly and move too fast for the eyes to catch. The leader suddenly felt his confidence waning and probed, "Who are you?"

Who was Feng Yi? The Looters naturally did not recognize the distinguished commander of the Blazing Legion, whose deeds were celebrated. Yet, his arrival struck Hans and the others like lightning. There was no mistake, that voice could not be wrong—the Federation hero who had appeared time and again on screens; the Special Envoy who often infiltrated behind enemy lines to exert control over the battlefield; the Federal General who led the Blazing Legion in a swift strike against Alpha.

You simply cannot imagine the despair when fate is in someone else's hands, with death so close. But who would have thought that instead of the rescuers they failed to await, a super Special Envoy from the Federation would appear in response to their distress signal.

At this crucial moment of life and death, it was he who stood in front of them all, shielding them from the muzzles. The man heralded as the most likely to be the Revenge Shadow Rider appeared abruptly, bringing tears to Little Wu's eyes as if without reason. As tough as she was, she suddenly shed involuntary tears.

"You, you, you are...?" the technician asked, hardly able to believe.

In response to the Looter's question, Feng Yi stated, "My identity is not important." And to the technician's disbelief, he just slightly tilted his head and smiled faintly at them.

That smile instantly filled Little Wu, Charlotte, Hans, and the other two crew members with immense courage, their hearts nearly overwhelmed with emotion...

Somehow, the burly bandit's AK47 was suddenly pressed down at the muzzle with a single effortless hand, unable to move.

The bandit clearly didn't accept this bizarre situation. His arms bulged with muscle as he gripped the gunstock and tried to lift the gun with all his might, as if he were sucking the very marrow from his strength. Yet it wouldn't budge?

A twisting sound made everyone's eardrums tingle with discomfort. Looking at the two men, such force was required to contort the barrel of the gun out of shape like that.

However, while the bandit's bulky arms showed pronounced veins from his struggle, the other simply pushed it back with one arm. Hidden strengths were not to be underestimated. This was not just about raw power but also about finger core strength and bone density. At the very least, the man's strength likely belonged to that of a Rank 2 warrior. Going blow for blow with this group would not be easy.

As the leader considered his options, the burly man who had acted previously let his temper flare and reached toward his waist. In an instant, he pulled out another handgun and didn't hesitate to pull the trigger.

A high-speed bullet was caught between Feng Yi's two fingers—or accurately speaking, completely blocked by the invisible force field of the "Storm Combat Pose." But first, what caught the eye was a pair of tactical gloves—well-suited for climbing, grappling, fighting, and restraining. Within moments, the spinning bullet came to a halt, and people then realized all that had happened.

The sound of that shot broke the silence, as well as Feng Yi's last hope for reconciliation.

The bandit chief was left utterly stunned... And it wasn't just the chief; even those like Hans couldn't believe what they had just seen. If bending the gun barrel single-handedly could still be within the range of a Rank 2 warrior's ability, then easily pinching a bullet between two fingers surely indicated First-Order level. Engaging with such a person would be unwise.

Knowing he had no chance of winning, the leader signaled for everyone to retreat, "Old K, we're leaving."

The disheveled man scoffed and turned to leave reluctantly.

Seeing this, Feng Yi also didn't pursue them. Such was the survival rule in Mardis: even bringing these rogues to justice wouldn't change the local situation. On the contrary, other eager Looters would emerge to take their place. Instead of stirring more trouble, it was better to maintain the existing order. He believed that restoring this place was just a matter of time.

Upon hearing the gunshot, distant Looters had already brandished their weapons, ready for action. Then the next second, the order they received was to retreat? From a distance, someone shouted, "Boss, are you sure? We've got 12 off-road motorcycles here, seven '09 autocannons, three Ice Flame Twin Serpents, and countless grenades, just to walk away like this... Like this... Like this..."

The man rambled on, his voice fading lower until seemingly seeing the leader make a throat-slitting gesture, he hurriedly clammed up.

It was only when the leader approached that the chief whispered harshly for him to be quiet and stop the noise. Unbeknownst to them, they had just skirted the edge of the underworld; it was a close call with death itself. This guy had actually caught Old K's bullet barehanded. Better get as far away as possible now. He's big trouble, best left untouched.

After making sure that the group had no intention to tangle further, Feng Yi finally turned around but suddenly noticed something wrong with Charlotte—and the issue seemed serious. The softness of the moonlight and the fact that Little Wu had been standing beside her meant he hadn't seen clearly, but on closer inspection, Charlotte could hardly stand up.

You have to understand, Feng Yi had not sought reprisal considering they hadn't really attacked. Aiming a gun might just be a threat. But hitting someone was wrong, and if they dared hit, they also dared kill. He couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong with you? Did they actually make a move just now?"
