Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 77: The Club Challenges - Part 1

As soon as Zhengnan took the stage, she was immediately recognized by Sheng Qiangwei. This wasn't the first or the second time this woman sought her out, but Qiangwei just could not warm up to the disciplinary committee. Despite Qiangwei's accomplishments in tactical command, her ultimate goal was to become a Red Cloak elite. Clearly, in her pursuit of her ambitions, the disciplinary committee was sidelined.

To become an excellent mobile fighter, one must have a deep understanding of fighting. Fighting was a microcosm of humanoid mecha, so when Sheng Qiangwei first enrolled, she set her sights on the Martial Arts Club.

Worth noting is that, upon enrollment, Qiangwei insisted on having Zhang Xiaobo join the martial arts club with her. Under the duress of the cool queen's coercion and temptations, the chubby Zhang had no choice but to reluctantly tag along. According to Qiangwei, this was just being considerate of a classmate's feelings. Indeed, Qiangwei had conversed briefly with Zhang during their time at the Ancient Martial Arts Hall. Poor Zhang almost cried; he had been completely screwed over by those few words.

Usually, Zhang would never miss a chance when a girl took the initiative, but Sheng Qiangwei was different. Despite her beauty, she was not talkative and always maintained a serious expression, which Zhang found off-putting.

In fact, Qiangwei was just not enthusiastic about communicating with others. Although she didn't have Amelia's charm and elegance or Zi Tong's excellence, she was still one of the top goddess-level figures at Wind Thunder academy.

It wasn't because Qiangwei couldn't compare to the previous two, on the contrary. The level of wealth her family possessed played a huge role. She was born into a middle-class family, so the resources provided by her parents were highly limited. Unlike Zi Mou, who was tutored by the most learned teachers, attended the best private schools, played the most expensive pianos and lived in a luxurious mansion.

Nevertheless, Qiangwei was already exceptional. Apart from excelling academically, she excelled in all school activities, which was why many girls were jealous of her and ostracized her, making her reserved. If Qiangwei came from a wealthy family, if her parents possessed power, she would be treated completely differently. Those who ostracized her would now strive to draw closer to her with looks of envy.

Used to the insincere gazes, Qiangwei was unwilling to let anyone enter her world easily, so she sought out Zhang only because she thought he was a decent person.

However, her dreams of joining Wind Thunder Military Academy were met with repeated setbacks, making it hard for her to swallow her anger and pride.

After a morning as a trainee, she, as usual, led Zhang to try and join the third on-campus martial arts team by noon. Before Zhang could say anything, they were kicked out by club members with claims that the team was full.

Qiangwei drooped her head low and huddled her shoulders. Her petite frame trembled slightly. Underneath her sleek black hair was her bitten cherry lips and a somewhat aggrieved face. She did not want others to see her in such a powerless state.

"Spit on them. If they won't tolerate me here, I'll find a place that will." Zhang spat angrily at the martial arts club's entrance as if purposely venting for Qiangwei. After all, one shouldn't twist their elbow outwards, and Zhang still had that much astuteness.

Sheng Qiangwei opened her mouth and said in a barely audible voice, "Xiao Bo, thank you. Try to find another martial arts club." She knew that all of this was because of herself. During the new club recruitment period, no martial arts club would refuse to take in an innocent and honest chubby boy.

Sheng Qiangwei's first admission to a martial arts club was successful, but it was immediately shut down by the disciplinary committee under the guise of fighting a visiting fighter. The committee stated that no matter which martial arts club Qiangwei chose, if she registered, they would fight, unless she considered joining the disciplinary committee.

You have to say that the disciplinary committee was overbearing, but they didn't violate any school rules. On the contrary, competition promotes progress among students.

The second time she joined a martial arts team, she was welcomed by a virtuous new team leader. Surprisingly, the team leader was beaten up worse than before, blood pouring from his nose and mouth. The culprit was a female disciplinary committee member, and the righteous team leader felt his pride had been insulted. Whether from anger or humiliation, he was beaten until he cried on the spot. Even Sheng Qiangwei was defeated miserably after competing over ten rounds.

The power of the disciplinary committee's fighter was overwhelming, and they immediately issued a declaration that whichever martial arts club Qiangwei joined, they would challenge. Therefore, she was collectively rejected by many clubs.

Zhang Xiaobo laughed awkwardly. Damn, he originally wanted to run, but now was the time for men to be brave. He said jokingly, "Senior sister is overthinking it. If they won't take us, we'll just try another one."

Sheng Qiangwei was silent for a long time. When she looked up, she put on her usual cold face again, "If I'm not mistaken, you are also pursuing a career in mecha, aren't you? This young lady is not so cheap as to invite the pity of others, hmph." She flounced her hair proudly and walked out of the classroom building.

Zhang looked helpless and hurried to follow Qiangwei, asking what her plan was now.

Seeing she was pressed for an answer, Qiangwei decided to go all the way and declared that she decided to apply to start her own martial arts club. She openly challenged those who were unsatisfied to come and fight, and even if they shut her down after the fight, she would reopen the club in a month.

Upon hearing her say this, Zhang was instantly stunned. She was setting the pace for a direct confrontation, and it couldn't be allowed. If the club was shut down and reopened once a month, that would mean 12 fights on the battlefield every year. With Qiangwei's skills, wouldn't every fight result in a shutdown? Zhang shook his head like a rattle-drum, signaling to the beauty not to be impulsive and that they could discuss a solution, but he was completely ignored by Qiangwei.

For this term, two new members joined the disciplinary committee, a male and a female, respectively Saimen from Ludong School and Zhengnan from Gaota School. As for Qiangwei, she turned out to be a worry for Rebecca.

For her heedless actions during registration, Zi Mou handed over the information of the three to Rebecca to handle as a test of her ability to judge people. As a new member of the disciplinary committee, Zhengnan volunteered to take on this task, and after much thought, Rebecca agreed to let her handle it.

Upon learning of Rebecca's decision, Zi Mou also silently shook her head... Indeed, as a girl, Zhengnan handled things more delicately, considering things from more angles. But at least Saimen had proven stable in his actions and had some limited understanding of Zhengnan, or had portrayed himself as such, or perfecting directions given, it was possible that Zhengnan would recruit Sheng Qiangwei in a radical way.

After lunch, Zhengnan was astounded by news brought to her by her confidant – Sheng Qiangwei was starting her own martial arts club again? This was absolutely absurd.

Her face darkened, and she rose from her seat, leaving the bustling cafeteria.

Several committee members exchanged glances. Lunch was over, and it was time to see what was happening.

Starting a new club requires approval at many levels. Qiangwei had run around for some time, and by the time she rushed to the cafeteria, everyone else had already finished eating.

Under normal circumstances, she harboured no grievances, but Zhengnan felt that Qiangwei indeed brought a difficult problem to her. She wondered if she should recruit Qiangwei in a different way? A way that could demonstrate the firmness of the disciplinary committee and exhibit her own strength.

Zhengnan blocked Qiangwei's path right away, with a look of disdain on her beautiful face. "Tsk tsk, I heard you're starting a martial arts club too, is it true or not?"

"Heh, you relentless thing, I don't have to answer your questions. Get out of my way." Sheng Qiangwei's lips curled in contempt.
