Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 638: Graceful as a Startled Swan_1

With a beauty that stunned everyone present, the audience instantly erupted in a frenzy. Their comments did not cease for a moment... Many people were taking screenshots, lamenting how this beauty could have chosen to engage in a fight instead of merely relying on her appearance to garner attention.

The commentators at the scene were left speechless, unable to comprehend the bizarre turn of events. Two individuals had disengaged from their Mechas mid-battle, and the woman, undoubtedly Mengdie, had now even changed her appearance.

While the official response from the Zana Republic had not yet been given, Sky Shadow quickly made his decision, and it was clear there was a confident smile on his face, suggesting he knew he was not entirely outmatched… Mengdie's beauty was undeniable, but Sky Shadow resolved to confront her head-on. His decisiveness was beyond that of the average person.

With these thoughts, Sky Shadow once again launched a new wave of attacks against Mengdie. But, he overlooked a key fact; he had managed to seize the initiative owing to Mengdie's unexpected metamorphosis, fueled by extreme emotions, closely akin to a scientific explanation of adrenaline flooding her system. However, his continued attempts at suppression would no longer be as successful.

Sky Shadow tried to rush at Mengdie in hopes of overpowering her; such beings could only be controlled by sheer strength if one were to find a thread of opportunity for victory.

In the blink of an eye, Sky Shadow was closing in on Mengdie. When he was less than 10 meters from her, he threw a punch. However, his arm ultimately failed against her greater reach, and Mengdie quickly landed a counter-attack, leaving him completely unable to react.

Mengdie gracefully leapt back, pulling away from him yet again…

Frustrated, Sky Shadow shook his head. His goal was to challenge Revenge Shadow Rider and press onwards but, unfortunately, someone always managed to toss a spanner in the works. If word got out that a federal super soldier was driven into a corner by a woman, who happened to be a Zana puppet, the world would have quite a laugh…

Sky Shadow spat, somewhat upset and quickly shifted into action again. He prepared to launch another Black Tiger Heart Digging strike, his movements full of power.

However, the attempt failed more quickly this time. Mengdie barely used any force to effortlessly dodge his attack and pushed Sky Shadow back, leaving him flailing.

Damn it! Sky Shadow retaliated with a sweeping kick while sprawling on the ground. The Thomas Movement, carrying with it lethal force, immediately followed. Amidst his terrifying whirlwind, objects like sand and trees in his path flew up into the air, and it seemed as if the thunder was roaring around Sky Shadow's body...

Unfortunately, he still missed his target. For a moment, his rolling body seemed to levitate, spinning and regaining its stature. After a brief gathering of strength, the silhouette of a hawk materialized as Sky Shadow launched himself again, and threw a Falcon Assault kick.

This was a merciless attack of the Falcon Kick technique; an advancing strike that had no retreat. As an expert, Mengdie should have known how dire consequences of Falcon Kick could be, but instead of dodging, she met his blow with her delicate hand.

The audience could not even dare to imagine the scene that would happen next.

Their bodies collided quickly. However, the expected scene did not occur. Mengdie's hand, soft and delicate as white jade, began to move in various intricate and beautiful signs.

Sky Shadow felt as if his punch had hit cotton, lacking the expected impact, but the attack did not end there. He still had the second, third, and even up to the seventh phase of attack—each one escalating in intensity— to unleash the power-packed Falcon Kick.

Sky Shadow released four phases of attacks in succession. However, each felt weaker than the last, as if his power vanished under Mengdie's Butterfly Dance Jade Handprint. Sky Shadow suddenly lost his balance and fell towards the ground.

Witnessing this, the always calm and collected Roland stood up abruptly, his expression growing incredibly serious. "Sky Shadow has lost this battle," he declared.

Sky Shadow's defeat seemed apparent, but his loss alone couldn't be the sole reason for Roland's grave expression. Even when Bermuda defeated Duolin, his face didn't wear such a solemn look. This was the gaze of someone identifying a threat.

"What did you see?" Greedy Wolf asked, curious.

"A lot..." Roland replied cryptically.

He explained that Mengdie was more complex than they thought. Historical records stated that the hand sign she made corresponded to the Butterfly Dance Jade Handprint. The failure of Sky Shadow's Falcon Kick was mainly due to Mengdie's feminine water element technique, which was highly flexible and capable of neutralizing brute forces, draining all the yang energy from Sky Shadow's Falcon Kick. Perhaps Mengdie was more than just a name; it might be her true title: Butterfly Dance.

Greedy Wolf contemplated, "You mean, it's a title from Jade Clear Sect?"

Roland shook his head, correcting him, "Butterfly Dance isn't just any disciples' title. It represents one of the four major guardians of Jade Clear Sect. There is a poem that goes: 'Eight hundred feet of Luo River, three thousand pieces of cold light, Butterfly Dance of Jade Clear Flow, Walking on the Moonlight above the waves.' This 'Butterfly Dance' signifies Jade Clear Sect's water element branch, and techniques like Butterfly Dance Wind Step and Butterfly Dance Jade Handprint all belong to that branch."

Mengdie's movements had seemingly matched the information he knew about Jade Clear Sect. It appeared Mengdie had yet to reveal her full strength. Apart from the Wind Step and Butterfly Dance print, no other techniques of the Jade Clear Sect were observed. Mengdie seemed to just be outmaneuvering Sky Shadow with her body techniques.

Meanwhile, at the battlefield, towards the audience, it was clear that Sky Shadow dwarfed Mengdie in terms of destructive power. However, regardless of Sky Shadow's assault, he seemed unable to land a severe blow on Mengdie. All serious attacks were quite easily deflected, and Sky Shadow's repeated futile attempts combined with the steady depletion of his stamina would only hasten his defeat.

In fact, Sky Shadow's movements were swift to an extent where it was almost impossible for the human eye and nerve to register. However, Mengdie's movements outpaced even Sky Shadow's speed, creating an illusion of her always leading the chase when viewed in slow motion.

At this moment, the audience's attention was completely focused on Sky Shadow's high-frequency attacks. Compared to Mengdie, Sky Shadow seemed more like a hunter in pursuit, while Mengdie was the elusive butterfly, dancing out of reach.

The scorching sun in the sky and the oxygen being drawn into his lungs made Sky Shadow realise that he couldn't possibly defeat his opponent in his current state. He felt as if Mengdie had been observing his every move all along...
