At this moment, a guard abruptly ran up and said, "General, the Military Department has called in. They want you and the Fleet Commander to attend a strategic meeting."
"Whose orders?"
"Marshal Greedy Wolf."
Feng Yi shrugged at Athena, "Ugh, guess we'll have to reschedule."
"Alright, bye Feng Yi..."
With a faint smile, Feng Yi waved casually, leaving her feeling somewhat reluctant. When she returned to the Freedom Dancer, she cautiously shared with her sisters her 'coincidental' encounter with Feng Yi.
Now Athena felt extremely happy. She collapsed onto her bed, causing quite a shock among her sisters. Cherry Fox Cat shook Athena gently by the shoulders, "Hey, Nana, are you okay? Pull yourself together."
Pink Starry Sky and Wonderful Sound Girl shared a smile. Finally, it was the mature Summer Mood who softly handed a framed picture of Feng Yi to Athena. "I think... you are hopelessly in love with this guy."
Taking the picture frame, Athena seemed to suddenly gain more strength and comfortably rolled over on her bed.
"Nana, you can't betray us." No matter how Cherry Fox Cat tried to save the situation, Athena paid no attention. Perhaps this was the stirring heart of a young girl. When it came to romance, Cherry Fox Cat, nearly two years younger than Athena, just didn't understand.
Back at the spaceport, Feng Yi, in a state of slight disarray, had crossed over several barracks to arrive in front of the High Commander Northern Ocean Building. A blade of grass hung nonchalantly from his mouth... With a loud bang! Before the guard could react, the door was thrown open with a swift kick.
To be honest, Feng Yi wasn't in the best of moods. He believed he had nothing to say to these big shots. The conversation among the dozens of top-ranking officers in the room was interrupted by the sound, "Hot Flame Corps General Feng Yi reporting."
Only the Haier brothers, Hugo and Mu Tou appeared amongst the super soldiers, and none of them had anything to say. The senior officers exchanged glances. Other than Fleet Commander Amelia of Normandy, Augustins, Pandora, and Annie, few were familiar with Feng Yi. Nobody expected him to barge in so boldly...
The Commander of the Northern Ocean's face did not look good. He sized up Feng Yi with a cold smirk, "So, you're General Feng."
"I am."
"General Feng, don't you know it's meeting time..."
The Commander of the Northern Ocean wanted to say, 'maybe we should wait for you to show up,' but before he could finish his sentence, Feng Yi had already plopped down onto a chair. "Why are you still standing? Sit down. Let's talk about business."
"You..." His face turned red. Since Feng Yi was already seated, he had no need to perform anymore, "General Feng, you're late."
"Yes, I am. I'm a federal hero. I have privileges."
"But, you're still late."
"That's why I have the privileges."
Feng Yi wanted to say that if it weren't for Greedy Wolf's command, he wouldn't have come.
Everyone found the situation more amusing than the meeting itself. General Mark's stubborn temperament was well-known in the Northern Ocean military zone, and everyone usually gave him some extra space. But today he came across someone who didn't care for his authority. The Capital Military Department was at a loss about what to do with Feng Yi, and they went back and forth over and over again with just these few sentences, until they were at an impasse...
General Mark's face turned red. This guy was like an insoluble problem that wouldn't go away. If you tried to confront him with rules, he would bring up his privilege. If you tried to talk sense into him, he would still bring up his privilege. Even if you attempted to appeal to his kindness, he would continue to wield the Hero Medal and talk about his privilege. Damn, what a character.
To the onlookers, Feng Yi looked like he was on his heels, but those who had hung around him knew him well. He was naturally freewheeling, debauched, and habitually late- this wasn't a new flaw. As a matter of fact, there were reasons for his tardiness. When it came to training soldiers, being late was a test of their personal will. And as for being late in life, it had its difficulties. However, Feng Yi, who was unwilling to express more emotional entanglements, preferred to keep them to himself, to hide more weaknesses.
By this point, General Mark was simmering with anger: "Hmph, the rebellion of the Hot Flame Corps is no rumor. You kidnapped the Right Faction, didn't you?" He was eager to see how Feng Yi would resolve this.
That man laughed again, "Ha, yes, I was the one who did it. So what? If you cross me, I'll kidnap you too." Truth be told, as Special Envoy, Feng Yi did indeed have the right to be arbitrary.
"What! What did you say!" Mark jumped up in angry surprise, banging the table. The atmosphere in the meeting room suddenly dropped to freezing point.
"Enough, both of you. This is supposed to be a strategic planning meeting against Bergheide." Angela spoke coldly, and their argument ceased.
The strategic direction was clear, to extend steadily northwards to Alpha beyond the Sky Domain. Sky City, being abundant in resources and able to assume to role of offence or defence, eliminated any worries about logistics. Now, the pressing issue was to discuss how to capture the three space fortresses in Aries C Star, garrisoned by Bergheide.
Angela's delicate fingers glided lightly over the surface, and a virtual terrain map materialized out of thin air. She marked three coordinates, saying, "I've performed preliminary analysis on Colonel Vivian's strategic deployment. It is considered the safest tactic so far: suppress them with static defenses, encircle and isolate them, and gradually wear them down. We should maintain a step-by-step expedition before the imperial forces are secure. Coupled with Rekart's diversion, taking the fortress might just be a matter of time for us. Do you agree?"
While speaking, Angela's gaze unintentionally fell on Amelia. She was hoping the beloved daughter of heavens would offer an innovative action plan.
However, Amelia didn't say anything. A young lieutenant colonel was the first to speak out, "General, can we disperse some of the fleet's forces and carry out a flank attack on the enemy? This could also distract their attention from our main force."
"No, we still don't have a clear grasp of the enemy's troops. Spreading out will only lead to wear and tear of our forces. This is not being considered for now," Angela countered.
"General, can we try to confront the enemy head-on? With the fire output of five fleets, I think it wouldn't take more than three days to capture the space fortress." Another military advisor began to speak.
Angela shook her head in response, "The space fortress has stellar-grade deterrence firepower. Even if the five fleets can break through, the cost would be too high." She looked at everyone, "Do you have any good ideas?"
In response to Angela, there was a round of whispers... many military advisors and officers were immersed in the discussion...
"I have two types of plans. First: gain further control of the enemy's dynamics while preserving our troops. Implementing disruptive and information gathering approaches on a gradient basis to increase pressure- Second: abandon the attack, await the enemy idly, await messages from Rekart and the alliance. If Rekart exerts enough pressure, the intelligence will inform us first. At that time, it will be the best opportunity for us to launch an attack at once."
"I have a suggestion." No sooner had she finished speaking when everyone's eyes fell on Amelia...
