LL, also known as Roland, was an attractive individual with a low-key demeanor, personally appointed by President Adams, and was the most mysterious among the super soldiers. Feng Yi sensed an aura from Roland that differed from the others, an aura which was enigmatic even to him.
Even though Roland exhibited male characteristics such as a pronounced Adam's apple, collarbones, and short hair, his exquisite appearance and slender physique made him stand out. This type of person would hardly be noticeable in a crowd, yet their unparalleled appearance could refresh your perception.
Well, it seemed that this unspectacular guy was pretty powerful. Without warning, Feng Yi took a swing straight at Roland's face. Fused with a roaring wind, the punch was thrown. Roland, who was still smiling, didn't dodge or turn away, not even blinking.
The several super soldiers who had come with Mu Tou were taken aback. In their memory, Feng Yi had always been an understated expert who would never engage in such nonsense. And of course, Feng Yi moved so fast that they did not have time to react.
Just as the punch was about to reach Roland, Feng Yi abruptly paused. After a two-second stare-down, Feng Yi quickly retracted his punch, "Why didn't you dodge?"
"I didn't sense any hostility from you."
"Interesting, how about we have a little spar?"
"Boss, what are you doing?" Noticing the unusual situation, Mu Tou instantly stepped forward to intervene.
Waving him off, Feng Yi asked Roland, "I am only asking if you wish to accept my challenge?"
"No, we're comrades after all. It wouldn't be good for either of us to get hurt." Roland lightly smiled, seemingly having already seen through Feng Yi's thoughts, like a slippery sprite that could not be caught or touched.
The people in this world who could provoke Feng Yi's desire to challenge were few and far between. Upon hearing those words, Feng Yi felt as if he had punched cotton.
The Haier Brothers, known as peacemakers, immediately came forward with smiles to lighten the mood. It was Younger Haier who broke the ice, "Perhaps instead of a spar, we should discuss more about Mechas."
"Discuss Mechas?"
"Yes." Exchanging a glance with his brother, Older Haier confessed, "To be frank, we are very interested in the Blaze Legion's training and we would like to learn more if we could."
"And me too." Ophelia suddenly chimed in before Feng Yi could reply. She was the haughty type and absolutely uninterested in Feng Yi.
In reality, she wanted a fight with Feng Yi. Although it seemed unlikely, she had fought online against the Revenge Shadow Rider. If Feng Yi was the Revenge Shadow Rider, she believed she would recognize him instantly.
Of course, even if Ophelia did recognize him, she wouldn't openly declare it as it was not her intention to create a fuss. But she secretly admired and revered the mysterious and elusive Revenge Shadow Rider, perhaps even worshipped him a little. Recognizing these feelings in herself remained a challenge.
Anyone who had fought Revenge Shadow Rider would long for another battle. There was just something different about battling him. Not only could one learn tactics that ordinary soldiers couldn't grasps, but his appealing spirit demonstrated the pure quality of a warrior. Common people simply didn't possess this. Researchers who sought the truth from Revenge Shadow Rider had conducted numerous studies, but all failed, which made Revenge Shadow Rider even more fascinating.
Dovir indicated he'd like a try too. He was among the strongest of the new generation. Revenge Shadow Rider was considered his semi-mentor. But Dovir didn't believe Feng Yi was the Revenge Shadow Rider. Although Feng Yi was extraordinarily talented, the comparison to Shadow Rider was unjustifiable. Actually, Dovir simply hoped to become stronger.
Next was Hugo, the eldest brother. As a professional soldier, Hugo's military discipline was ingrained in his bones. He marched forward and saluted, "General, Super Soldier Pilot Hugo requests a sparring exercise with the Blaze."
"With the utmost pleasure." Feng Yi saluted back.
Colonel Aldrich watched this scene through the outer wall. He was perplexed until he asked around and learned that the super soldiers were going to spar with the Blaze Legion?
How was that possible? Super soldiers were elite Red Cloaks. Even a hundred ordinary soldiers combined wouldn't stand a chance against one. But, what if the super soldiers were to change their Mech models, and the terrain was switched to the Blaze Legion's home field? The outcome wasn't necessarily predictable.
Upon contemplating this, Aldrich slapped his own thighs! He reddened and sought out Feng Yi immediately, hoping to observe it up close, even if it meant requesting, shamelessly, from a person of higher military rank.
Feng Yi laughed heartily and agreed. As soon as the news broke, it spread like wildfire, "Hey, did you hear? The Super Soldiers have challenged the Blaze Legion to a spar."
"Damn, are you kidding me? When did this happen? We mustn't miss this chance to get up close and personal with the Super Soliders."
"Only just recently! But I heard the Super Soldiers must operate ordinary Mecha models. Holy cow, I need to get an autograph later."
"Whose autograph do you want?"
"You idiot!" The first guy squarely socked the other.
Just because you want an autograph doesn't mean you can get anyone's. He also yearned for the autographs of Revenge Shadow Rider, Athena, Feng Yi, and more, but that was unrealistic. Those people were difficult to reach. If he had to choose, it would be Ophelia.
As an ice queen amongst the super soldiers, Ophelia was extremely popular with everyone in the military. Despite her usual cold demeanor, she was patient and tolerant with the lower-ranking soldiers. Even though her smile was more a matter of politeness, that was enough.
The Haier brothers were also well-liked; they were the easiest to get along with. Sky Shadow, who was recognized for the most significant contribution, was equally popular. Not only was he extremely powerful, but he was also humble and polite. Given time, he was destined to become an ace pilot.
Some people said Sky Shadow was a hypocrite, but despite the divided opinions, his greatness was undeniable. As it happened, The Gundam of Fate was the most prominent Super Soldier, combining speed, maneuverability, fire control, defense, distraction tactics, and even appearances. It was like an all-rounder Mecha model that all enthusiasts dreamt about.
However, a conventional veteran would argue that the God's Thorn piloted by Hugo was the strongest. The God's Thorn boasted dual acceleration functions exhibiting a powerful combat ability during war.
From the perspective of academy freshmen, the Haier brothers and Ophelia were doubtlessly the top-notch figures. They all hailed from the Yingland Royal Military Academy. Although they were just Red Cloaks, if they teamed up, the results would significantly outperform the sum of their individual abilities. Anyone, except for the neutral Revenge Shadow Rider, would have to avoid them, even those in White Cloak.
