Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 529: Fat Meat_1

With Noah's meticulous assistance, time stealthily ticked by. Seven days passed and the soldiers in their mechas had significantly enhanced their strengths. However, they still lacked combat experience compared to the empire's fighters.

Combat experience is an indispensable treasure for soldiers, but the mechas are equally important. Thus, Feng Yi spent every day contemplating how to self-develop mechas. After all, being able to modify mechas doesn't mean he could design them. Being a traditional mechanic, Feng Yi was always worried about this issue.

Developing a mecha with excellent performance, superior fire control, communication, armor, speed, adaptability, and even comfort all in one was no easy feat. He needed a true mecha master, but where could he find one?

Determined, Feng Yi approached Noah who regretfully couldn't offer any solutions. She suggested he search among ordinary people, as the saying 'the real masters are always among the people' wasn't without a basis. Sometimes, those experts and scholars with higher education might lack unique foresight.

It seemed that this matter had to be put aside for now. After a ten-day marathon, the Meteor was only two days away from the edge of the Bermuda Galaxy. Big Macs and Lipton had been completely controlled by Bergheide which forced Feng Yi to take an unorthodox route. He had to rely on the Star Domain Broadcast to analyze the surroundings for potential threats.

Regrettably, Noah was unable to receive the Alpha Star Domain Broadcast. This meant that Alpha might have also fallen into Bergheide's clutches. It remained unknown whether Rekart had responded or not, but at least for now, a mere Zeus Shield did not have the strength to challenge the empire's fleet.

In the pitch-black night sky, five battleships ghostly hovered over a distant space route, seemingly forgotten by the world. This space route far from the Eden Constellation had an unknown name — Faux Jump Point.

Due to unstable magnetic fields in this area, Feng Yi dared not venture too deep. Many accidents had occurred at the Faux Jump Point, such as sudden disappearances, random teleportations to unknown regions, or getting lost in space only to return to the starting point after a certain time.

Feng Yi chose this place to hide for its danger is its safety. As long as you don't stray into it but lurk on the edge, the battleship would be safe. Bergheide wouldn't expect a strategic level equipment hiding on the essential path to the federation.

Moreover, there were sporadic appearances of two small fleets near the standby Meteor. The Zeus Shield, as military equipment, had a much greater detection range than any civilian shuttle or old military model. Coupled with camouflage, even nearby space pirates would find it hard to detect.

Noah reported that these were two space pirate forces. After observing for several days, Feng Yi found these two space pirate fleets very interesting. They appeared occasionally at the VK4402 coordinates, 40 astronomical units away, only to disappear mysteriously in a short time. Even Noah couldn't explain why.

Both space pirate combat units consist of about 100 and 150 mismatched battleships, respectively.

Feng Yi did not dare to act rashly. With his limited experience, failure in combat would likely be on his side. Though the Zeus Shield had an advantage in firepower and defense, the outcome of a battle was uncertain. He didn't know what kind of equipment matched up against him. Even if he could win, the fleeing space pirates could alert Bergheide. By then, he would be in an awkward situation.

However, the occasional appearance of the two small fleets in front of him was like tantalizing fatty meat to Feng Yi, agitating him. For two consecutive days, he changed the training plan allowing the crew to temporarily abandon mecha training and fully dive into the aerial combat simulation training, mastering various artificial equipment.

For two days, Vivian had been cooped up, avoiding Feng Yi. He has twice humiliated her and kidnapped her. That was simply intolerable.

The problem was that Vivian was not convinced at all. How did that lowly character manage to steal the Zeus Shield using artificial intelligence and rescue the hostages single-handedly? As a commander, she was always too busy to keep a constant watch on such a minor character. Little did she know that she would fall into his hands twice.

However, the current Vivian had no idea how long the battleship would remain in one place. If Feng Yi's frustration came from not being able to seize the two chunks of juicy meat, Vivian was genuinely depressed with the terrible boredom.

She enjoyed quietness, reading, dancing, playing the piano, and most of all, studying military strategies. But in this empty room, apart from idly gazing at the stars with her sharp chin yanked upwards, there was nothing else she could do. They said a girl looking at the stars was the most beautiful because she wished to share her secrets with the celestial bodies. Though Vivian looked beautiful now, she felt she was slowly turning into a resentful woman.

Finally, Vivian came out of her room. It could be said that ever since she came aboard the Zeus Shield, she hadn't gone out once, not even for meals, which were always delivered by a service robot. Following the soft opening and closing of the electronic door, rubbing her somewhat heavy head, she saw the first person - or rather, two people - in half a month.

Two blaze soldiers were approaching. Upon seeing Vivian, without warning, they bumped into each other, blushing. They had never seen such a beautiful woman before.

Vivian's elegant demeanor came naturally. Standing still, she appeared as an aloof flower. Accustomed to such glances, Vivian could easily block them out by now. She gently said, "Where is Feng Yi? Send him to see me."

Feng Yi? Apart from the high elder and a few others, who dared to call him by his name directly? Everyone called him Commander out of respect. But this woman seemed to look down upon Commander Feng Yi, with a tinge of disdain in her words.

"Miss, you are...?"

Vivian was taken aback. That's right. She wasn't a southern battle zone commander now, but that bastard's prisoner. Shaking her head, she said, "Never mind, I'll find him myself."

"Heh, have you seen? A beauty has arrived on our Meteor."

"What beauty? Isn't little Hua our number one beauty?"

"I think little bear is the most beautiful, incomparable to the rest."

Soon after, Vivian didn't find the person she was looking for, but a rumor about a super beauty spread across the battleship. She had an attractive appearance, exceptional demeanor, steady posture as if she had a background in dancing, but most importantly, she dared to call the Commander by his name. In no time, the gossip among the crews was fueled, and it spread like wildfire.
