Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 391: Thunderbolt Spin_1

"How can that be? Brother Feng clearly arrived late first."

Feng Yi felt quite a headache as Xiu Yi insisted on arguing, "Well, that's one way to put it— why don't we change the way we communicate, like... do you really have the mindset of a bounty hunter?"

"Of course." Xiu Yi firmly replied.

"Good, go stand over there for a while."

Feng Yi, who was acting as a mentor, didn't seem to reflect on his misdeeds, but rather, he was making Xiu Yi wait by the side. He even took out a rather scandalous 18X book and began reading it without any inhibition, shocking Red Ghost and making her face blush from embarrassment.

This isn't instruction at all. It's forgivable to be late, considering that experts tend to have eccentric behaviors, but shouldn't they at least maintain a professional demeanor? In Red Ghost's mind, his image plummeted abruptly. Something seemed off, however. After all, Feng Yi had been appointed personally by Uncle Lei. He couldn't be as simple as he appeared, could he? She was eager to see what sort of abilities Feng Yi would display today.

However, nothing more happened. It was quite some time before Feng Yi finally spared a glance at Red Ghost, eyeing her up and down. "A Rank 3 warrior has a pretty solid battle style already. I can't change that, but I can provide some guidance concerning battle skills."

"What should I do?"

"Just attack me with all your might."

Upon hearing this, Red Ghost's eyes widened, and her body noticeably tightened—an instinctive preparatory posture for battle. Before she could react, something smacked her on the head. The sensation told her it had been the 18X book Feng Yi had been holding.

"Your flaws are too obvious. Combat doesn't need superfluous, wide-open stances." Feng Yi did not spare Red Ghost a second glance. His lightning-fast action took both by surprise to the extent that it seemed as if nothing had happened at all.

Red Ghost rubbed her slightly aching head, her heart filled with frustration. Was he so fascinated by her beauty that he was having fun at her expense? However, upon closer thought, she had to admit that what he'd said did make sense. Red Ghost thus began to apply relentless pressure on Feng Yi.

Like a street dancer, she deftly maneuvered herself around Feng Yi's body, looking for an opportunity to strike. Red Ghost's speed greatly exceeded One-Eye, and it was even approaching Rank 2 levels. This surprised Feng Yi quite a bit.

True to her reputation as the Red Ghost, her speed was blinding and her movements unpredictable. At least, Xiu Yi was having a hard time following Red Ghost's actions.

In just a short while, they'd exchanged dozens of blows. Yet Red Ghost's attacks didn't seem to have any real effect. All of her attacks were deflected by Feng Yi using only his 18X book, as if she couldn't even damage a rolled-up book.

Feng Yi casually blocked her attacks while pointing out the errors Red Ghost had made. "Your flexibility is incredibly good, and your movements are pretty coordinated, but your strength isn't really there. When you punch, you're unable to control muscle contraction well, lacking a burst of damage to cause real disruption. This will become particularly apparent when you reach Rank 2 and above. If you want to change that, you should do more muscle contraction and expansion exercises."

Red Ghost was getting increasingly shocked and scared as she listened. She had noticed her personal issues quite early on, but had no idea they posed such a significant hidden danger, since she'd never reached that level. However, Feng Yi had already been there.

Feng Yi suddenly called for a halt. He pointed out Red Ghost's recurring errors and areas she needed improvement. He then had her use all of her abilities to fight against him. As for how to fight, anything was fine, for instance, she could use the gear or weapons she always used.

As a bounty hunter, Red Ghost was very familiar with using crossbow guns. She thus began a fierce pressure assault against Feng Yi. Not that she was worried about his personal safety—the matter was, people like him could hardly ever get hurt.

Unfortunately, in Feng Yi's eyes, the attack was still too slow. Whilst Red Ghost's technique was skilled, her reloading speed was only at the level of Feng Yi's ten years ago. It was vital to understand the concept of every second counts in a battlefield. The true importance of weapons was not limited to firing, there was a whole range of associated actions where reloading speed could make the difference between life and death.

After one round of exchanges, Feng Yi not only had caught all the rubber bullets in his hands, he had also snatched the gun out of Red Ghost's hands. He specifically pointed out that her reloading speed was lacking.

After listening to his remarks, Red Ghost's complexion had subtly darkened. She knew that she was no match for Feng Yi in battle, but her understanding of weapons was second to none. Reloading was one of the skills she was most proud of, and now Feng Yi was blatantly telling her she was too slow. "Can you show me what speed you consider to be fast?" she asked.

"Well... there isn't a specific concept. The reloading speed of an agile-type warrior, if not coherent with their overall efficiency, will drag down their performance—even more critical is the matter of usage. Weapons are indeed a factor in battle, but they shouldn't be over-relied upon. There are countless ways to use them. So, you should try to master your weapon, not be dominated or restricted by it. Only by breaking free of its shackles can you improve further."

"Teacher Feng, that sounds too simple. If you're able to master your weapon, could you demonstrate it for me?" Red Ghost switched the topic back to the original point, her tone filled with evident discontent. This man was not only ignoring Xiu Yi, but also talking big about her. Everyone knows how to preach, but can you actually take me on?

Feng Yi was taken aback, not expecting the girl to have such a temper tantrum. "How would you like me to demonstrate?"

"Just a simple demonstration will do. It was you who just said there are countless ways to use a weapon, wasn't it?" As she spoke, Red Ghost once again drew a pistol from her waist. The gun spun at lightning speed in her hand then suddenly stopped as she flipped it around and offered it to Feng Yi. She wanted to see what he was actually capable of.

"Not every situation is always excellent." Saying this, Feng Yi flicked his wrist and in a instant, he threw the pistol out like a dart with incredible speed!

Whirring... snap! The high-speed rotating weapon circled Red Ghost's body in a physically inexplicable trajectory, as if it had hit something, it emitted a sound akin to air being cut, then suddenly returned to Feng Yi with even greater speed. Red Ghost could feel the fierce wind brushing her cheeks, it was hard to imagine the destructive power it held.

Wow, that was just too cool! Xiu Yi was absolutely dumbfounded...

Snap, whirring... snap! The weapon made several twists and turns around her and Xiu Yi before returning to Feng Yi's hand, "This is one way to control a weapon."

Red Ghost stood frozen for a while: "Can... can a weapon be used like that? What... what move was that?"

"One of my own original skills. I call it Thunderous Cyclone."
