Bruce's individual combat skills were on par with those of Sword Dragon, and insignificant details were not enough to determine the outcome of a battle. The key factors were timing and luck. Unfortunately, he was injured, which hindered his ability to attack. Feng Yi hoped that Bruce could replace one of them, but Duolin's rapid movements made it difficult for Bruce to counterattack, thus, Sword Dragon became his most likely target.
As desperadoes, they knew that when pushed to the edge, they would fight to the death. Sword Dragon and Duolin understood this, hence their actions were measured perfectly. Instead of rushing to attack or applying excessive pressure, they kept circling around their enemy. This "slow-boiling a frog" method of steadily draining their foe's energy was a sure way to victory; it was simply a matter of time.
Under the combined pressure of their attacks, Bruce had been incessantly and rapidly attacked by Duolin, resulting in continuous retreat with a tinge of embarrassment.
"Ha, haha..." Bruce growled deeply, his innate ferocity undeniable. "It seems you've decided to take me down today, interesting, absolutely interesting, haha, ahahaha..."
"What's with the stupid laughter?" Duolin sneered, her arrogant eyes looking at him like he was a dead man.
"Stupid laughter? Maybe, who knows?"
Sword Dragon and Duolin were slightly taken aback, as Bruce's words hinted he still had a hidden ace. "You want to finish me off, right? Take your chance now." Bruce glanced at the two of them.
Duolin's brows slightly furrowed. In front of Feng Yi, maybe she would hesitate due to his extreme offensive power. But Bruce obviously didn't hold the same destructive capabilities. "What resistance can you offer in your current state? Why don't you just give up?" Duolin's mocking gaze held confusion. Was he bluffing? She couldn't understand the source of his chilling confidence.
"Make me surrender? Hahaha..." Bruce mulled over the words, his face partially concealed under the gloomy light revealing a bizarre smile. In a swift move, he clenched his fist and swung, "To hell with that, even jokes have their limits." He paused, his tone shifting. "You surely don't think the only purpose of my armor is defense, do you? Don't you want to know what it can do?"
"Skills?"
"That's right."
"Hmm, stop bluffing. Why not show us now?"
"Hee-hee, bluffing? You can try me now." Bruce beckoned Duolin, his gaze provocative. He was in no rush now, and decided to go all out.
"Hmph, bring it on. I'm not afraid."
"Be careful of a trap, we should be cautious." Sword Dragon warned, noting Bruce's unusual behavior.
"At the instant they both struck, without any hesitation, Bruce made a decision. The interior of his armor abruptly ejected a needle-like projection that pierced deeply into Bruce's artery."
A green substance slowly entered his body, the TCR agent instantly triggered a reaction. Stimulated by the central nervous system, Bruce's body showed prominent veins and enlarged pores. His blood circulation had reached a terrifying speed beyond human comprehension. As the drug continued to infiltrate, Bruce's face grew more savage.
Indeed, this precious TCR drug could boost human potential. Repeated use resulted in poor performance, but it could greatly enhance Bruce's physical capabilities for a short time. However, due to overdrawn strength, it could cause some harm to the body, recoverable within two hours of rest.
The situation was different now. If Bruce failed to kill one of them after using the TCR agent, he would be in a difficult position. Duolin and Sword Dragon could distinctly feel Bruce's momentum change.
Sword Dragon had nearly been hit by a punch, Bruce defended quickly. Aware of Duolin's keen agility, he targeted Sword Dragon first with a thunderous attack.
It appeared that Bruce had lost his rational mind. Sword Dragon naturally wouldn't miss a golden opportunity. He quickly mustered a powerful punch towards Bruce, but only for the counter-attack to surpass his own strength.
With a squelch, Sword Dragon was thrown back instantly. It felt as if he had punched a hammer. Sword Dragon was thankful he had held back his power during the attack, otherwise, his arm would have suffered greater damage.
Just as Sword Dragon landed and attempted to distance himself, Bruce was quick to follow again with a punch that was faster and stronger than before. Sword Dragon was forced to block, but still got thrown back...
Amidst a whooshing sound, Duolin's palm strike had already penetrated Bruce's back. However, it felt as if she had hit solid rock, her delicate fingers nearly breaking from the impact.
Her beautiful eyes filled with disbelief. Luckily, she was quick to retreat as otherwise, it could've been bad for her.
At the moment, Bruce's offensive power seemed unstoppable. He had singled out Sword Dragon for continuous attacks, paying little attention to Duolin. He was aware of the challenge of attacking Duolin considering her elusive movements, so he focused all his power on Sword Dragon instead.
Cursing inwardly, Sword Dragon thought about his encounters. The Black Robe had tried to kill him first and now this armored warrior was doing the same. His day couldn't get any worse.
Bam! Bam bam bam bam... Sword Dragon was being thrown about, Bruce's punches and kicks were too powerful for him to resist. If he hadn't blocked repeatedly in the fight, the outcome would have been worse than his battle against the Black Robe.
Sword Dragon had nicks and cuts all over his body. Even though they were not fatal, he was close to coughing up blood due to the strain. Bruce's punches felt like a heavy hammer strike, leaving no time for Sword Dragon to strategize.
