Feng Yi was utterly shocked, unable to utter a word. His surprise showed clearly on his face. He was familiar with liquid metal, but this was the first time he came across it. He was bewildered at the association between a beautiful woman and a black panther: "Who on earth are you...?"
"Humph...I am what you refer to as a robot. Your surprised look irritates me." The Blade Warrior put her hands on her hips, speaking with a hint of pride.
Feng Yi was surprised by the Blade Warrior's transformation and even more surprised by her answer. He replied, embarrassed, "Could it be you are an artificial intelligence? If you have self-consciousness, I apologize for my previous offensive talk."
After hearing this, the Blade Warrior's expression softened slightly, "That's quite candid of you. I'm curious, why do you possess Storm Stance and what is your purpose in coming to Death Planet?"
"My purpose is simple - to train, gain experience and find treasures. As for your so-called Storm Stance…" Feng Yi shrugged, "I have no comment." He had slowly mastered the Storm Stance technique, but he wasn't about to share his valuable experience with others, "Why are you here?"
"My aim is probably the same as yours. I've been living on Death Planet for 50 years. Since you like it here, it's all yours."
Feng Yi was bewildered, unable to follow the thought process of the 'beauty' before him. One moment, she was attacking him and the next she was stepping aside?
"Hey kiddo, just a reminder, you're not the only one on Death Planet."
"Hold on a sec!" Feng Yi still had many questions, such as her background, her purpose for being here and what she meant by 'not the only one'. Unfortunately, the attractive lady was already striding away. In fact, he was quite curious about whether touching the Blade Warrior's skin would feel like touching a human's, was it really that realistic?
However, according to Feng Yi's estimate, this sentient being, born from evolved intelligence, should have a drastically different purpose for existing than Eggy. It, or she, was more self-aware and less computational than Eggy. Kind of like the difference between a traditional watch and a multifunctional wristwatch, similar on the surface but fundamentally distinct functionality.
Anyway, for now, all of this had nothing to do with him, as he wasn't even sure if he would survive on Death Planet. So, Feng Yi ignored such concerns and focused on searching and learning.
Two hours later, Feng Yi finally found the perfect turret for the body structure of Clapping Tiger. This turret housed a 205-caliber main cannon, which could handle varying types of 205-caliber artillery shells, as well as 203 caliber armor-piercing rounds and various forms of guided missile.
Apart from this, the top of the turret also had two openings that could mount a Gatling Cannon, a 07-09 caliber machine gun, or parallel machine guns, among other weapons.
Feng Yi was quite pleased with the turret's structure. Of course, the turret openings were not meant for secondary cannons. He decided to add digging equipment, like steel hooks, as attachment devices around the tank. The tank trumped an ordinary excavator in terms of weight, push-weight ratio, and armor.
But assembling a tank was not as easy as just talking about it. Destruction was easy, but creation was hard. Feng Yi spent a full two hours just installing and polishing the turret, followed by risk assessment scans, instrument readings, tests for overall strength and welding gaps, chassis maintenance, tests for sensor devices, observation equipment, and various other basic functionalities. This took Feng Yi a total of five days, during which he did nothing but accompany his battle vehicle.
Thankfully, the Gods were watching. After five days, the greasy smell of machine oil emanating from Feng Yi was elating. Clapping Tiger was finally assembled.
Feng Yi gazed at the fruits of his labor, touching his chin with admiration, "Truly befitting the mighty Sir Feng. The adorable Clapping Tiger is complete. This baby is like a tiger sprouting wings. Can you imagine an excavator crane mounted on a tank? What a quirky spectacle!" Feng Yi was quite pleased.
During these few days, he spent only two nights in the underground cave. The rest of the time, he slept soundly inside his battle vehicle.
Clapping Tiger had a radiation shielding layer. Although it was not specifically designed for radiation resistance, it was far superior to the underground cave as a sleeping place.
Previously, Feng Yi mostly worked during the day, as the night's temperature differential was hard for him to withstand. Now, with the battle vehicle, things were completely different. The vehicle could block out almost all the cold. Even without using the heating equipment, the internal temperature could stay above freezing point due to the heat generated.
This feeling was... indescribable. When he got bored during the mining process, Feng Yi would sometimes climb on the battle vehicle's turret to enjoy the cold wind and feel the pulse of the world, often savoring a bit of liquor to stimulate blood circulation. And during the day, he'd run outside to do some mining and inventory. Sadly, for half a month, Feng Yi didn't find any valuable equipment in the junkyard.
Of course, he found quite a few discarded mechas. He could still assemble a few mechas from salvaging arms and legs from them, but Feng Yi was not at all interested in such junk. He needed a powerful mecha.
After lingering for half a month, Feng Yi drove Clapping Tiger away from the area. There were many more places to search, he couldn't afford to stay in one place the whole time. If he did, he'd starve to death. On the contrary, his time was limited and precious, and he had to use it to add more value to himself.
With this in mind, Clapping Tiger, passing through the junkyard without stopping, headed straight for the severely polluted area of Death Planet. The intense radiation pollution there posed a high risk, but it was also likely to yield great returns.
However, during the drive, Feng Yi suddenly felt the vehicle shake. Instantly, a loud noise like a death knell echoed in his ears, almost causing him to spit blood from the shock.
The vehicle had undoubtedly been hit. The intensity of the shock was almost too much for even Feng Yi's physique to bear. If it had been an ordinary person, their internal organs would have ruptured and they would have died instantly. Who dared to mess with his Clapping Tiger!?
Furious, Feng Yi glanced at his observation equipment and almost stumbled. It turned out the culprit was another Clapping Tiger! #@¥%…&*
This was awkward. How come all the backstabbers on Death Planet were these seemingly adorable, mindless Clapping Tigers? Suffering a betrayal on his own ship was more than Feng Yi could bear. Before he could complain, another cannon was already on its way.
Wait, Feng Yi abruptly realized that the situation was not that simple. This was not a case of a runaway Clapping Tiger randomly firing shots. Someone was deliberately shooting at him. Unfortunately, his own Clapping Tiger - despite having a cannon - was out of ammunition. A single shot had already stripped away most of the armor on one side. If two more shots landed, his mighty Clapping Tiger might just collapse.
