Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 342: Red Cloak Special Training Base_2

Before long, the quarrelling duo smoothly moved on to the bargaining stage, with Feng Yi saying, "I could consider it. As a patriot, I bear the country's weight too. But there's a time limit; Eggy can stay for up to a month."

Trister furiously responded, "You're still too naive. One month would only help a limited number of people. Three months is sufficient. With Eggy's power, I can aid many more people in need within three months."

Feng Yi thought for a moment then said, "Three months isn't impossible, but since you're doing good deeds, doctor, I'm happy to contribute too. However, you must also give me that sniper rifle to help more people in need."

Upon hearing this Trister immediately blew a fuse, expressing that his love for his country knew no bounds. He could give Feng Yi the gun but Eggy must stay here for half a year.

Feng Yi responded decisively stating that half a year was acceptable but since Eggy's time was valuable, the old man must trade it for rocket boots.

Who would've thought that Trister, being a temperament man, gritted his teeth and stomped his foot, agreeing to the trade but insisting that Eggy must stay an additional three months.

Adding another three months would amount to nine months. Feng Yi put on his tactical gloves without hesitation, sealing the deal.

Seeing the youth aiming for the tactical gloves again, Trister had no other reaction than to silently hold up three fingers, indicating a further three months.

A minute later, upholding their positions, the two compromised and agreed to a somewhat corrupt deal. After the successful transaction, Feng Yi decided to leave. Before leaving, he bid his final farewells to Eggy. The little one seemed reluctant, showing a touch of resentment. "Eggy, big brother has brought you this far, the rest of the journey is now yours to continue. A year may seem long, but it may also be a test for you as much as it is for me," said Feng Yi in a heartfelt manner.

Tears flowed from Eggy, "Boss, hug Eggy one last time, cute, hug, hug…." As he spoke, the little terror clumsily approached from a distance like a toddler, only then to be booted into a trash bin by Feng Yi. Amidst Eggy's cursing, Feng Yi quickly left the research institute.

Walking along the simulated gravity field, Feng Yi discovered that his body and the ground were at parallel angles. Looking down from this angle was indeed a unique experience. However, the height seemed a bit daunting, and he couldn't locate a suitable landing spot. Even with his physique, taking such an inertial shock without using his storm combat mode would be quite a challenge.

After a moment of thought, he decided to let it be. Since he had already come this far, he might as well visit the legendary black technology base. Just as the saying goes, a man who hasn't been to mount Liang isn't a true hero, a dragon who hasn't plunged into the sea isn't a flood dragon, furthermore, a scholar who hasn't ventured into black tech isn't truly a prodigy. And so, Xiao Bai swaggered to a grand structure, where the bold inscription piqued Feng Yi's interest.

"Elite Red Cloak Training Base"

With curiosity, Feng Yi stepped through the electronic door and saw a bustling scene...

This place looked more like a research base. Many scientists in white coats were busy with computers in an unknown room, or discussing lowly in front of diagrams. All around them, office workers were running back and forth. There were active military officers in conversation, intelligent machines carrying goods, and lovely, soft-voiced girls incessantly typing away at computers...

Feng Yi couldn't see what was happening in the other rooms because it would take him some time to walk around this oval-shaped research building.

Many armed men, upon seeing this unfamiliar face, simply stepped forward to question his origins, to which his response left them speechless. "Just taking a stroll," he said. But the assembled personnel did no more than admonish him not to wander about without cause.

Without pausing, Feng Yi wound his way through. He was nearly taken aback by the indoor firing range, the swimming pool, the combat simulation room, and so much more...

He was here primarily to trace the rumors about the Red Cloak Training Base; the kind of training that supposedly happened here and whether or not he might spot something worth learning.

After circling the first floor for 20 minutes and still not completing his inspection, he reluctantly checked his wristmap, deciding to use his Sky Network Advanced privileges to search for information about his surroundings.

Actually, the wristmap didn't possess the right to collect information from this location. But, due to the unique nature of Feng Yi's specified mission, this didn't prove to be a hurdle for him.

Guided by the wristmap's navigational system, it didn't take long for Feng Yi to find the hall of the Elite Red Cloak Training Base. A number of bystanders had gathered outside the hall, their faces brimming with excitement. When Sky Shadow descended from the battle mech, quite a few girls present were inevitably starry-eyed...

Inside, however, was a different scenario. High-ranking officers were rigorously analyzing the comprehensive output from the previous battle, including basic hand speed, physical strength, and neural reaction speed, among various other data sets.

The light screen projection displays nine names, which are Dovir, Haier Brothers, Sky Shadow, Ophelia, LL, Hugo, Cangmu Kuang Qi, and Mu Tou.

Feng Yi noticed that the previously unheard-of figure was replaced by the letters LL, wondering what the intention could be?

According to the final computer evaluation, Sky Shadow deservedly holds the first place. As for the tail-ender, as the font continued to scroll, that person appeared, and upon seeing this name, an indiscernible sigh came from outside the hall...

Yes, the last place still belongs to Mu Tou. This person is really like a piece of wood. Perhaps the assessment generals and others don't say anything on the surface, but deep down they are very resistant to Mu Tou. To some extent, this might depreciate the worth of the elite Red Cloak.

Everyone was unsurprised by Mu Tou's ranking. The positions of other contestants fluctuated within a certain range, even the less capable Haier Brothers who often rebounded; unfortunately, Mu Tou was persistently at the bottom.

"I...sorry for dragging you down," Mu Tou said to Ophelia.

Ophelia glanced at Mu Tou, maintaining her usual aloof demeanor without responding, then turned and walked away. In fact, any team fight was unimportant to her. In a direct fight, showing her real strength and gradually becoming stronger was her goal.

Cangmu Kuangqi looked downcast and disappointed, as if all the air was let out of him, sighing at Mu Tou helplessly: "Ah, you've dragged me down again."

"Sorry, I really…" Mu Tou, honest and simple-hearted, scratched his head and didn't know what else to say.

"Alright, don't worry about it, you big dummy. Try harder next time."

The speaker might not have intended to, but the listener took it to heart. Perhaps the one who had the hardest time was Mu Tou. Angelina, one of the Red Cloak Elites, was out on a mission, and the only two beauties were assigned to the same team...

Sky Shadow lightly patted Mu Tou's shoulder and said, "You are different from them. You have to put in more effort to grow — remember, you are you, no need to care about others' gazes, or the opinions of a bunch of trash." Sky Shadow's smile remained unchanged, and of course, only Mu Tou could hear his voice clearly. The fans all thought this sunny handsome guy was comforting the underdog.

"It's not that serious. They are doing this for me."

"Well, before long, they could all become your enemies."

"Why?"

Sky Shadow sighed slightly, "You will understand in the future."

Feng Yi leaned against a transparent wall and watched them quietly for a while; he didn't want to disturb anyone, but Mu Tou spotted him: "B...boss…"

With his voice carrying over, everyone's gaze simultaneously landed on Feng Yi. He was wearing a black combat suit, his handsome and resolute face exuding an extraordinary aura, but it plummeted into the abyss at Mu Tou's call of 'boss'...

Indeed, his appearance truly surprised many people. He was a media hero who fought on the front lines of the Roland battlefield. Although the media could deceive the public, they couldn't fool those who were there.

The Red Cloak elites looked at Feng Yi with strange gazes, while Feng Yi...

Feng Yi looked at Mu Tou, his expression quite ordinary, "Hello, good evening."

"Hehe, what brings you here?"
