Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 332: Action Plan_1

"They are gone..." Feng Yi glanced in the direction the red Mecha had departed. The speed of their enemies was so fast that there was no hope of catching them. He had no intention of pursuing them any longer; his priority now was to escape this place as soon as possible.

Before leaving, Feng Yi didn't forget to pull an alloy knife from another displayed Terminator's body and destroyed all remaining Mechas before jumping and taking off.

Today's battle had done considerable damage to Eluma. Without its protective surface layer, the continuously accelerating Mecha gradually heated up due to air friction. Even though the cooling system has been activated, the temperature continued to rise to 150 degrees, setting off the warning alarm, 'Outer Mecha layer falling off, alloy surface damaged, energy supply continuously decreasing.'

Her current situation was extremely perilous, but the greatest threat was still the Terminator. Not until twenty seconds later, when it had entirely escaped her line of sight, did she decrease her speed. She made a shaky landing in the nearest camp, immediately sending out orders to pursue the Terminator with urgency. The terrifying entity couldn't be allowed to escape.

A group of imperial soldiers lined up to meet her, eyes wide in disbelief at the scene unfolding before them.

As the fleet commander, Eluma was a Red Robe Level mobile fighter with equally formidable combat capability. Although there was some disparity compared to the 12 Zodiacs, the gap was not profoundly apparent. On Roland Planet, it was hard to find a presence on par with Eluma. Yet against all beliefs, Eluma had returned defeated.

"Lady Eluma."

"It's alright." Eluma, after getting down from the Mecha, raised her hand to stop the Major who was about to speak, "Immediately have an Intelligence Officer connect with the main force through the Heavenly Communication."

"Yes."

The objective for Eluma was clear; she needed to find this person. Their identity was far from ordinary, and she didn't have the time to consider the reputation implications of the recent battle.

If they didn't capture them now, the threat they posed in the future would go beyond a simple hidden danger. Their strength was terrifying. In close combat using the Terminator, they had managed to pressure her until she had no choice but to retreat. If they had been using a higher specification model, they would have displayed even more terrifying combat power.

The more Eluma thought, the more frightened she became. She ordered the main force to carry out a carpet search of the nearby urban and rural areas. Large targets were usually hard to hide in such environments, not to mention the wilderness.

Meanwhile, Feng Yi had just met up with his own troops. Their excitement hadn't even had time to dissipate before Feng Yi uttered a single sentence that left them stunned. They had to leave this place as soon as possible. But why?

Feng Yi said he would explain later. Right now, there wasn't time to waste on explanations. He didn't know when the enemy would arrive, but Feng Yi was certain that the pursuers would be hot on their tails soon after the departure of the red mobile fighter. This battle was likely to turn into a marathon escape.

Jia Erjia hastily boarded his Mecha in a state of panic, not knowing what to do. Although he didn't know the reason for their escape, he understood Feng Yi well enough to obey without question. "Let's go."

At Jia Erjia's command, the hundred-strong force prepared to charge forward – "Wait, which direction should we go? At least you have to tell us where to go." The crowd stumbled in unison, looking towards Feng Yi and Jia Erjia in speechless desperation.

"Eggy, which direction?"

"One o'clock, six seconds."

Feng Yi loudly repeated Eggy's words, and the group began to march towards the coordinates. Half of these Mechas were manned by two people; some were prisoners of war, and others were female intelligence soldiers who didn't have the faintest clue about operating a Mecha.

During their escape, Feng Yi would occasionally suggest minor changes in their direction. The soldiers were utterly puzzled. Jia Erjia kept approving these suggestions, not having any words of his own to contribute. When it was time to explain over the communication system, Feng Yi had cleverly concealed Eggy's identity.

Luckily, the Pro Empire had not yet gained control over the use of the Sky Eye. Even if they wanted to destroy it, there was no way they would leave it to Pross. Because of this, their escape went smoothly.

The group ran for five hours straight, covering a distance of two thousand kilometers. By nightfall, they all jumped out of the Mecha cabins to take their first breath of fresh air since escaping, gazing at the dark night sky. They welcomed the anticipation and slight palpitation in their hearts.

They gathered their belongings, made food, set up temporary camp, and collected information about their surroundings. The soldiers quickly busied themselves after dismounting their mobile fighters. Much of the heavy and dirty work, like carrying stuff, was done by the men. The women, many being cooks or assistants in setting up the camp, were usually intelligence soldiers who did not know how to operate a Mecha. Feng Yi, Huang Zhennan and other veteran soldiers were planning their next strategies.

During mealtime, everyone learned that the prisoners of war were originally soldiers from the Second Army's 27th Armored Infantry Division. The women were secondary intelligence personnel. Their division had been scattered, and they quite fortuitously met the women during the journey. Although they were a small combat force, they had been faring pretty well as they had an intelligence officer who was familiar with the nearby combat situations. Unfortunately, their ammunition was running low, and they'd been captured alive by the Imperial soldiers in their third attempted escape after exhausting all their bullets.

After listening to the soldiers' stories, Feng Yi felt a deep sense of apprehension. To survive, it seemed they would need to wear new shoes to walk the same old path.

This group must not only focus on escaping. The lack of ammunition had given him a tough lesson. So, when Feng Yi expressed personal opinions, the first combat plan he proposed was to use battles to fuel their growth.

The proverb says, "without trials and tribulations, there can't be a rainbow." Without enduring hardships, there can't be real growth. To protect a few lives in the face of recurring battles, every escalation and refinement would become an indispensable bargaining chip. This was the essence of life-and-death situations. The soldiers needed to show their courage on the battlefield.

A female soldier tentatively asked, "What do you mean by using battles to fuel our growth?"

"Well…" Feng Yi scratched his head, "It basically means fighting like a wolf, I guess?"

Hearing Feng Yi's rather uncertain tone, the female soldier couldn't help but laugh. Many times, the deeply hidden humor in this commanding officer's words was quite hard to understand.

A few officers, led by Huang Zhennan, agreed with Feng Yi's combat plan. Some suggested they should attack another enemy unit that same night. A group-level unit was beyond their capabilities, but with their numbers, taking down a battalion would be no problem.

Huang Zhennan suggested they rest for a day. After a tiring day of combat, diving back into the fray would undoubtedly leave them vulnerable to a desperate counterattack from Pross. They might find themselves back at square one, fleeing again. At least for now, quietly taking out an enemy battalion had dealt a significant blow to the morale of the Imperial soldiers. Therefore, the Imperials were fervently hoping for an attack, which just happened to favor the Saudis. This was the simple analysis conclusion Huang Zhennan came to.

Jia Erjia's idea was fundamentally opposite. He hoped they could take out an Imperial camp in one fell swoop. Taking the environmental factors into consideration, even if the enemy pursued, they wouldn't be as reckless as they were during the day. The dark night was their most valuable asset. Moreover, Feng Yi had a large-scale detection device. They absolutely needed to strike fear and pain into their enemies to achieve the desired effect.
