Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 324: Feng Yi's Course_1

Mecha is a creature of life, following the natural laws of life cycles can easily reflect its two-sided nature. Isn't it about piercing the foggy window screen and waiting for the clouds to part to reveal the moon? One may just be looking for a better way. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. Once you can operate a mecha, the rest is quite simple. Making progress is a gradual process that cannot be rushed.

Feng Yi claimed that he did have some skill level and could provide field soldiers with targeted instruction to help them improve more or less. As for how much they could improve, that largely depended on individual comprehension. He also emphasized that one of the fighters on Red Cloak's elite list was trained by him. While he may be weak, his professional instructing skills are second to none.

Perhaps revealing this kind of chip might make the old company commander reconsider. For the sake of giving the soldiers an extra bit of survival skill, Feng Yi put forth a lot of effort in his speech.

Upon hearing this, the old company commander stood up from his chair, "What! ... What did you say? One of the elite Red Cloak's fighters is your trainee."

"Sort of."

"So you have a pretty deep understanding of mecha, too?"

"Heh heh, I know a thing or two..."

Jia Erjia pinned Feng Yi with a gaze that sent chills down his spine. He wished he could leave a kiss mark on Feng Yi's face, "Hehe, we field soldiers are lucky today. Come, have a drink."

That night, the field soldiers slaughtered a pig. The luxurious food and drink were paid for by Feng Yi and then the soldiers went to the nearby town in their armored vehicles to purchase them at high prices. The exorbitant prices during wartime were most painful.

During dinner, Jia Erjia let the soldiers indulge in food and drink without a care. As long as no one caused a disruption, it was alright. Before the soldiers had started eating, they collectively toasted Feng Yi, their esteemed captain.

The clinking of glasses echoed through the dining hall, some soldiers took off their shirts and chugged a bottle of beer like it was nothing. It felt so good.

Jia Erjia suddenly asked everyone to put down their drinks. He wanted to announce a shocking piece of news at this special moment, he proclaimed loudly, "Soldiers, do you like mecha?"

"We like it."

"Well said, mecha is a man's romance, and to become an advanced mechanic is every front-line soldier's dream. But we've been defeated by damn luck, never having professional instruction since our enlistment. All we learned were some shitty theoretical basics, but now things are changing, Captain Feng will be your new instruction officer starting tomorrow. Don't ask about Captain Feng's skill level because I don't know. All I know is that Mu Tou of the elite Red Cloak was trained by your Captain Feng."

Upon hearing this news, everyone was taken aback. Mu Tou? This was someone of a very high level, an idol-like figure constantly promoted throughout the army. If Feng Yi could train such a soldier, it showed his own skill level.

Immediately, there was clamor from those that wanted to know more about Feng Yi's abilities, having previously shown his formidable combat skills. They believed his mecha combat skills would not be lacking. People instantly started asking about Feng Yi's background, wondering if he was some sort of super-idol.

Suddenly, one swift guy joked, "Captain, is your identity, by any chance the Revenge Shadow Rider?"

"Why, are you fond of the Revenge Shadow Rider?"

"Hehe, that's our idol, my biggest wish is to meet the Shadow Rider face to face." His words resonated with many others around him.

Feng Yi smiling slightly, "If meeting the Revenge Shadow Rider is your wish, congratulations, your wish has been fulfilled."

Saying this, including Jia Erjia, and the soldiers present, even Feng Yi himself could not help but laugh. They were all totally taken aback; a moment later, the dining hall erupted in loud laughter... This Feng Yi, not only was he generous, he had a good sense of humor too.

The night was jovial. Everyone drank a lot. Luckily, they all went to bed early and got up early, so they were sober after a night's rest.

Early the next day, just as it was getting light, Feng Yi was awakened by a loud blast of commands from the window. Remarkably, these soldiers showed exceptional enthusiasm for training. The field soldiers were all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Their 10km morning exercise was punctuated by loud, clear commands that raised a few eyebrows in the Special Forces camp, what the bloody hell got into those old bastards today?

However, they didn't have much time to think about it. The Special Forces not only had to be number one in terms of individual quality but also had to look imposing. Major Huang Zhennan blew the whistle himself, the command was simple, don't get left behind by that group. He wanted to see what kind of tricks this Feng Yi could pull off.

The result was that the Special Forces fell short today. Despite their disadvantage in close quarter combat, the field soldiers' training intensity was something else. Their quality was not much lower than that of the intelligence scout soldiers, which made Huang Zhennan wary of the field soldiers' actions.

He intentionally sent a scout to investigate further. So two units were training to the point of absurdity. The scout was not only executing his duty of gathering information about the enemy but also spying on his own people.

After the morning exercise, there were ten minutes of stretching, then a hurried wash and breakfast prep. The two units adhered to the age-old military tradition. When breakfast was over, everything had changed. The usual field soldiers on the training ground had disappeared and were replaced by human-shaped mecha appearing in the distance of the squad.

"Reporting!"

"What are they doing?" Huang Zhennan asked urgently.

"Commander, according to my observations, the field soldiers seem to be training on the basic movements of the mecha."

"Keep investigating."

"Yes."

"Report. They have shifted from level one basic training to level two beginner's training."

"Report. A field soldier has executed the Thomas Cyclone Kick."

"Report, re-, report..."

In less than two hours, the scout ran back and forth between the two units multiple times, looking extremely exhausted. When Huang Zhennan heard that three men from the field soldiers could complete the Thomas Cyclone Kick, he finally couldn't sit still. He decided to see for himself what those guys were up to. When he found Feng Yi instructing the soldiers on the basic operation instructions, although he was too far away to hear clearly, thankfully Feng Yi's voice was penetrating enough and he could vaguely hear what was being instructed.

"Don't make the intervals too big or too small, yes, the key is to pay attention to the rhythm, rhythm, rhythm. Finding the operating feel is the quickest shortcut to becoming a high-level driver. You can consider yourselves as basketball players. The mecha is the basketball. When dribbling while running, the natural coordination of the body is very important. Don't intentionally focus on the basketball. Moments of numbness will only blind your eyes."

Shortly after, another soldier performed the Thomas Cyclone Kick. Honestly, this was the fourth person from the field soldiers to do so. Even though the clumsy actions were far from standard, it was certainly the Thomas Cyclone Kick.

Huang Zhennan was incredibly annoyed, "Damn it," he thought, "I spent half a month during my training to learn the Thomas Cyclone Kick, and these guys casually pull it off."
