Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 322 Confrontation_2

The old soldiers of the Field Operations Unit all nodded in agreement when they heard it...

Feng Yi quickly waved his hand and said, "No, no, my small pea shooter skills are only good for bullying fish and shrimp; in the future, I will have to rely on my brothers to take care of me."

Feng Yi's words immediately won him the favor of the soldiers around him. Setting aside everything else, his ability to trample on an opponent was truly impressive. His kick was satisfying to behold, prompting nearby special forces veterans to turn purple with envy. Many curious female soldiers began to wonder about this young lieutenant named Feng Yi.

The news that Feng Yi had knocked Li Lin down spread like wildfire among the crowd...

"The training field for this week belongs solely to the Field Operations Unit. We have witnesses, does anyone disagree?"

Before Jia Erjia could finish, a cold sneer suddenly echoed from not far away. "The training ground isn't yours just because you say so. What's the point of having a commander then?" A handsome middle-aged man strode out from the crowd. Jia Erjia's face turned grim at the sight of him.

This man was Huang Zhennan, a graduate from Golden Sword Academy in the Solar System. At only 27, he had already earned the title of Major.

As the commander of the Special Forces Company, Huang Zhennan's military prowess was the best of the best within the entire military region. Otherwise, he would not have achieved so much at such a young age. His combat skills were not lesser than Li Lin's. In addition, he also served as an educational counselor— a scholar and a warrior. This talented young hero was the object of many female soldiers' admiration.

Huang Zhennan was arrogant by nature and looked down on the Field Operations Unit from the bottom of his heart. As a result, he publically claimed that the training field should be allocated for the use of special forces. He argued that Field Unit soldiers lacked any specialized skills and could practice anywhere, while the precious training field was wasted on them. This attitude caused friction between the two groups.

Jia Erjia was unable to stand Huang Zhennan. With a forced smile, he replied, "Well, if it isn't Major Huang. We have plenty of witnesses. Surely, the commander of the Special Forces wouldn't renege, right?"

"Special forces soldiers don't back out," Huang Zhennan replied with a calm face. "We can compare, but only a demonstration of comprehensive military capacities will truly show the disparity between us. Am I wrong?"

Jia Erjia cursed under his breath. Simply put, there was no use arguing when the ranks were unequal.

Huang Zhennan continued, "Modern battlefields seldom involve close combat. Often, victory is secured through electronic confrontation and long-range firepower. Frontline soldiers, who are predominantly unskilled, won't touch these specialized areas. So how about a best two out of three series? We'll chalk up this hand-to-hand combat round as your win."

With two out of three rounds and one round conceded to them, Huang Zhennan's offer not only appeared fair but also incredibly generous. Still, Jia Erjia's face turned ashen. Everyone knew Huang Zhennan's fearsome reputation. He was a combat instructor who had twice received Second class Diamond medals and had been commended by the whole army.

Unexpectedly, Feng Yi chimed in again, "Whether it's one or many, same difference. Brothers, stay put. I'll take care of everything today."

"You...?"

"Yeah, me." Feng Yi responded with a nod.

A scholarly smile spread across Huang Zhennan's face as he looked Feng Yi up and down. "What shall we compete in? You tell me."

Feng Yi turned to look at Jia Erjia, who signaled him with a nod. He understood that he had been given the green light. Jia Erjia was now resorting to desperate measures, hoping for a miracle. So what if they lost? The worst outcome would be losing a week's worth of training time. But he was not going to swallow his pride, not when they had clearly won the earlier confrontation only for it to be downplayed by Feng Yi.

"Let's try shooting." It was Feng Yi who spoke.

"Shooting it is. Shall we go to the shooting range?"

"Quick and decisive. I don't want to delay the Field Operations Unit's normal training schedule."

"What do you plan to compete in for the second round?"

"One round should be enough."

Upon hearing this, Huang Zhennan's face suddenly changed. The other side clearly didn't take him seriously. Who was he, Huang Zhennan? A major who had made numerous military achievements on the first-line battlefield, a soldier who made it here through trials and tribulations. Only the honor deep in his bones refuses to allow others to look down upon him. He roared, "Communications officer, fetch the guns."

"Yes sir!"

The communications officer seemed to feel Major Huang's inner rage, and without a word, he quickly ran to the ammunition depot and took out two KB-IS7 sniper rifles. Major Huang did not specifically mention which gun to fetch when he gave the order, but the communications soldier knew that one of the IS7s had been Major Huang's weapon for many years. It was like the pair of hands that had followed the officer for many years. He wanted to show the opponent what a real elite sniper was.

After a while, the communications officer stood at attention in his place and performed the standard handover action with the gun.

Huang Zhennan swings his arm to snatch the gun. Before everyone's surprised gaze, this military officer demonstrated his loading speed, comparable to an ammunition expert. Grabbing the magazine and flicking his thumb, he managed to chamber all ten 12.8 caliber rounds in less than three seconds. He suddenly turned around, the stock of the gun pressed into his shoulder, leaving no gap. After a brief aim, he shot off ten rounds without any interval.

When the onlookers saw this, they all froze in place. What was that? Standing shooting has much worse accuracy than lying or kneeling, and yet Major Huang's extreme confidence in his own shooting skills indicated one thing - he was a sniper with such precision that it cannot be described.

Even Feng Yi couldn't help being surprised, his sharp eyes could see the bullet's angle of entry, almost making an elliptical hole in the tree. Through the high-power telescope, one can easily see the ten bullet marks left on the tree.

"It's your turn." The communications officer said coldly, tossing the weapon to Feng Yi.

Feng Yi gave the gun a casual juggle. For him, who was used to using heavy-duty sniper rifles, this gun seemed a bit light. But when he searched his heart, he had to admit that his own ability was only around the same level as Major Huang's.

Feng Yi, who's considering the path to victory, didn't rush to take the shot. He slowly loaded the bullets, as if observing the angle of entry while walking back and forth, considering the way to win in his mind.

Normally, the two of them could only draw, but Feng Yi didn't want to waste any more time. Feeling the wind flowing, he swiped his hand and with a strong grip of his five fingers, the sniper rifle seemed to spin in his hand from a backhand hold to a forehand grip. What was even more shocking was that he decided to shoot with one hand, trapping the stock of the gun in his shoulder.

He suddenly fired a shot as he walked, people thought that Feng Yi couldn't maintain his balance and accidentally touched the trigger. Little did they know, while Feng Yi was moving left and right, he fired another shot.

Dang Dang Dang Dang…..

His walking speed wasn't fast and his posture was not standard, but the bullets he fired had a high-frequency interval. During this time, Feng Yi didn't stop moving at all and maintained the dynamic sniping rhythm. While adjusting the angle of the gun barrel with his body tilted, he fired all ten bullets consecutively.

"Next." Feng Yi casually tossed the weapon to the communication officer.

The first thought that flashed into people's minds was that none of his bullets hit the target, and it was just a pretentious display of a one-handed dynamic shooting style because he was caught in an awkward situation.

"Quick, look over there!"

No one knew who yelled out, but the moment they looked in the direction of the sound, the old tree in the distance slowly fell towards them... Now, not just a few officers, but everyone present saw an incredible scene - the tree fell after Feng Yi's shooting...

As we all know, the bullet will leave a larger physical damage trace in the opposite direction after penetrating the target. This can only be accomplished by shooting a row of bullet holes horizontally in the tree.
